Mercury5 reacted to Bounce in Banner Photo Now Too Small
Derp! Said everywhere someone has helped and I simply overlooked the proper tab. Off to try again.
Â
Worked! Thanks for everyone for your patience. Putting the code:
Â
/**
 * This file is for your custom CSS.
 * This file is not modified or overwritten during upgrades
 */
#ipsLayout_header header > .ipsLayout_container {
   height: 275px !important;
}
#elSiteTitle, #elLogo {
   height: 275px !important;
}
Â
in the proper place (edit html/css; CUSTOM css) made the difference.

Mercury5 got a reaction from SUBRTX in IPS 4.5.4: InnoDB tables are using Compact row format...
I proceeded to ask my webhost about this and they gave me a link to stackoverflow site to do it myself. They have faith where as I do not. I have no idea and wouldn't like to attempt such a thing.

No sure if this will solve your problem, but there are two other places you haven't mentioned that you may need to change.
In System > Advanced Configuration
You probably need to change the Template disk cache path (under the Server Environment tab)
Â
And you also probably need to change the full path of the Directory (under the Data Storage tab)
Â
In both cases this may be needed if the directory where your IPS installation was the old domain name and now is the new domain name instead.
So, maybe it's just changing part of the path (simply replace name of old directory or domain with name of new directory or domain). Chances are the rest of the path remains the same if you haven't migrated to a different server.

I've got a new update ready that is just being tested a bit more by a few others and then will be released soon. (Because of the previous update causing problems, I'm a bit more cautious this release.)
These are the changes, if you've got any more bugs to report, please let me know now.
Bug fix for validate member. Bug fix with topic settings stopping new welcome alerts. Background queue to convert and then remove the legacy welcome member field. Only members who joined within 2 weeks will receive the time delay welcome. -

Application done. Out of the gate it will be just forums, but blogs and gallery will be close behind after this breathes a bit out in the open - just want to make sure everything settles in for everyone before adding the rest. Â
On installation, the new app will detect if you have the plugin installed, hump over your existing data, and then delete the plugin, so do not remove the plugin prior to installation of this new thing. You'll just wipe your existing data.
There are built in cull options now if you need to wipe a single topic's viewers out, or cull the whole thing and start over again (along with the usual truncate by x-amount-of-days daily task)
Want to spy? You can spy your members via the ACP member view page where I added a tab for Who Viewed. Naturally with just forums as the only app it's a little spartan but it is a start.
Those of you with GDPR or other jurisdictional fun to deal with, for now, no, you can't throw a member's views at them if they ask for it. But yes, it's an easy add to dump to CSV and on the list - will be fairly soon.Â
All the usual clearing/merging of datas when a topic is deleted or a member is merged/deleted also occur.
All the rest of the newness will have to wait for the Marketplace entry. Gonna do a little testing first before submission.

I downgraded to 2.5.6 ver. and works fine - had problems with 2.6.1 ver. (no new topics , no PM).

Mercury5 reacted to Dean_ in Group Promotion Confusion
Following the settings you see you can set up min posts and you can select which group the user goes to upon setting that up. Under actions you can then select a group, so for example I have set content count to 10, and once the user makes 10 posts they're moved in to the select group.

Mercury5 reacted to Kitty Blu in How would I set a rule that sends a pm when their group....
I have a rule set to send a private message when someone joins my forums. But I was hoping to also be able to send a pm when that person has their group changed. So when they are added the new group tag, they will get a separate private message. I would only want them to receive this once though, so I can't just send it to everyone in that group over and over.
Is this possible?
Thanks!

Navigate to your licence and add it.
Make sure before that you know what yo're doing and have skills to create similar database content as this no supported app. I take no responsibility what you do.

This shouldn't be a problem, noted this for a future update.
Like the tag mentions? @The Old Man
If there's enough demand for this, I'll consider it. If it's just birthday topics, then adding a few additional message settings shouldn't be a problem. But adding multiple settings for personal messages, topics, emails etc... does take some time.
Possibly... But it might just be easier to have something dedicated to anniversaries instead.

Season's Greetings @Mike John
Just a few suggestions for Birthday Greeter, if that's okay!Â
When the Birthday Greeter sends out an auto birthday email, if there is also a birthday topic that gets/got created, perhaps the email could also include a link to it? This way an absent member would be even more likely to visit the forum if they know there's a topic with greetings.
(This occurred to me because I think we had such a member visit this week after their birthday, but they didn't choose to post in their birthday topic, and I wondered if they'd missed it for some reason.)
Secondly, I wondered if it was possible for the birthday topic to include a tag with the person's name? Before birthday greeter, I used to add a tag like 'Happy Birthday membername' to birthday topics, which was handy as we could click to see previous years greetings.
Last suggestion!  The birthday topics only have one template, so all topics look the same and contain the same message and images/emoji. If we could add up to say 3, or maybe 5 topic templates and birthday greeter used 1 at random, it would add some more variety, they'd have a less automated, more personal feel.
Thanks!
P.S. I lied. Here's another one. Through the use of extra language strings, perhaps the birthday greeter could also optionally send out anniversary greetings based on a member's join date?

You will see them in the online list: ...index.php?/online/
But they doesn’t show up in the widgets, as far as I remember. I also don’t remember any permission view. Admins show be able to view them.Â

I can add a pin option in the future but pinning a topic for a set time would probably require a new plugin as IPB doesn't natively support that. Again this kinda would require a new plugin to make topics support that. -

Invision Community supports PNG icons out of the box.
Yes, it should still work.
I don't know the "old" forum icons app so unfortunately I can't answer this 😕

any updates or above quote to be considered? I haven't got the plugin because there is no use yet for my community. Reasons because with the points what can they use it for?
