May be share the steps on how you 'achieved' it. So if others who would like to use, they can do it as well. A tutorial would be helpful and I am sure @opentype will appreciate that as well.

Btw, our "Our Picks" pages now includes content created by you guys! More will be added there.
We're also chewing on some new ideas to make your community topics more visible. More on that soon. 😉

@ahc I appreciate your honesty and passion here. As @Jordan Invisionsaid, we are currently building out an achievements system that finally brings gamification to Invision Community. It won't be a direct replacement for the Rules app, but it'll go some way to bring back some functionality for you.

And it won't be locked to Invision ☁️ Communities.

It's probably a good idea when in the role of community leader to hit the pause button on any communications you might feel inclined to send to individuals or the community until such a time as you "really" have a feel for your community and you have adopted a communication style that works for them and elicits the responses you are hoping for.
Your initial communication might not be the best approach and once sent can't be retrieved.
You should consider giving your communication another once over a few hours later or the next day, maybe you might see something in the communication that might be better worded or an entirely different approach might come to mind. I know this is hard as we have become so ingrained to utilizing instant communication.
You should gauge your community to determine if you should write at the high school or college level as well as how technical they are.
With that knowledge you can better determine which words you could readily use in your communications as well as how detailed you might have to be.
On the other hand you need to be cognizant aware of the fact that If you are too wordy then you might lose people with extremely short attention spans. Know any Twitter or heavy sms users?

@Jordan InvisionI posted a comment in another forum posting about the fact I have come to know a fair amount of personal details about the staff here.   There was a time when they were more personally vulnerable and open with the community. Heck @Matt was the first blogger I kept tabs on.  That was long before blogs became a "thing". They "were" community leaders here but over time became Admins.
When you start out as an admin and morph into a community leader its important to not to go back to being an admin as your members will miss the connection they had when they were a community leader.  You might take on lots of extra duties running your site making it difficult to find time to be community leader  an effort should be made to carve out a few moments each day to put on the community leader hat.
Any site bad news you may have to impart onto your community will incur less of a sting if it comes from community leader versus admin.  Community leaders are "one of us" while admins are often seen as cold uncaring individuals who think "it's my way or the highway".

    Correct, or Safari on MacOS.

Apple prohibit push notifications on iOS via PWA (regardless of browser you use), and they require you to register with Apple and go through their development onboarding to allow to push to MacOS.

That's why we have a mobile app.

I don't think it's really good sense for them to allow it. They tightly control the experience, so letting any random website spam you with notifications wouldn't sit well, and forcing people to make apps means they get to retain control over more of the experience from third party apps via their audit and approval process.

    It is what it is.

From a technical POV, it would be an afternoons work on their behalf to enable it.

Hey there. I'm sorry you're feeling frustrated. If it's any consolation, my forum is also self-hosted - which means I won't gain access to Zapier as well. I know this is a point of contention right now so I feel your pain.
I'd like to share that I offered to write this blog post. My Invision Community team isn't using me as a scapegoat or hiding behind me to share this news. 🙏  Trust me when I say we've talked a lot (I mean a LOT) about the pros and cons of Zapier. We want to give you guys the absolute best service. That's where the dissonance presents itself - I know many self-hosted clients feel this decision is not the best for the overall community.
I'm not trying to distract from the topic at-hand. However, we have some really incredible implementations coming to Invision Community this year. One of the biggest is of course our gamification / points / achievements system. It's coming because we believe it's going to elevate our product, thus elevating everyones' communities. Right now, Zapier isn't one of those applications that can seamlessly be integrated and make all parties satisfied. I know, it sucks. I feel the sting, too. We all do, and there was no easy way to go about this.
We also want to be more visible and transparent with you, which is why I commend @Matt for being honest and kindly agreeing that this is, in-part, a business decision (and it was difficult for us to make it, believe me). Being visible also means we open ourselves up to making mistakes. And because those mistakes are on the Internet (which is forever), we are held accountable, hence the justified outrage in our community.
That does not mean we want to retreat.
It means we are practicing being vulnerable, and this is one of the hard parts of expressing that emotion as a company. Bottom line is: we care about all our clients: both cloud/enterprise and self-hosted.
Please allow yourself some space to pause and hopefully rethink your decision to potentially leave Invision Community. We value you. We value everyone (I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true). Please allow us the opportunity to continue making improvements and we'll figure out a way to make things better. 🙏
    Love y'all.

It will take a moment or two to adjust to the new layout. Still, overall anything that people can agree on that improves things is always a benifit. I shall continue to watch the ongoing development and general management from Invision with great interest. Onward and forward, and let's see where the road takes us all together—congratulations on your recent changes.
