Umaar reacted to CircaCitadel in OG Image tags for Pages
I'm glad to see og:image tags added for forums, it was much needed. But I'm surprised it wasn't added for pages as well. Is there a reason this isn't a feature, or is it possible to be added? We have a few pages I'd love to have special OG images for when sharing.

The idea came to me that it would be nice to have the option to manually send a push notification when the site came back online. It happens that we close the site for a few hours, it would be nice to inform users that the site is now available.

Pages CMS missing an option that I believe everyone is using, and it's "Custom No Permission Error" like in forums setting.

This option must have on database and categories separately.
    Please guys consider adding it.

Umaar reacted to Myr in Bulk Mail - Set a send time
Would it be possible to get a option to set a time/date to send a Bulk Mail?  We use it to send out our newsletter and the lack of schedule options means we have to do it all live. And when I have time to get everything set for email never matches the optimum time to send that email.

Yes, please! For IPS5, please add a ton of easy-to-use functionality so that we can build great looking pages with much coding-knowledge. Layouts, containers, boxes, everything with WYSIWYG, permission-based displaying... you can basically go through the whole Wordpress/Joomla/Drupal catalog. There is so much room for a true Pages app!

Just want to say mad respect for the time and attention you put into thinking this all out!
We have a bunch of awesome stuff in the works, but I'd personally be interested in us expanding on Pages in the future! It's pretty darn good currently, but yes I'd love to see what else we can do with it as well. 🙏

Sometimes I feel like poor little Pages gets no love, the built in Wiki feature is worth its weight in gold. To be able to stand up databases and leverage our members to create/modify those pages....is a HUGE feature. Lets try to flesh out the recognition of our member when they add in information. Right now we can assign points and achievements for creating records, but generally, if I am standing up a huge database....I want to have control over the initial record creation.
    Why?
Well lets take video games, its very easy to go grab a list of every Nintendo Entertainment System game ever released in the USA. However, if I let USERS create those records, generally there may be duplicates, because when it comes to "The Legend of Zelda", how are we handling that name? Under T for The? Under L for Legend? So I generally pick the naming scheme and then dump in the records in mass. But then its up to members to add in the information of said records. But we currently do not recognize revisions in any meaningful way.
    Lets look at Wikipedia...
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda
If you go to that page, you can drop down to the revisions....
    https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Legend_of_Zelda&action=history
and you can then see who the contributors are, and drill down further....
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Sergecross73
We can then see the following under his wikipedia profile....

As you can see, very easy to see this user has made 76,400+ contributions to Wikipedia....along with many other automatically recognized "stats". People like to be recognized for their hardwork, even when its just a few mentions on their profile of their accomplishments on a site.

Click this button in the ACP to control what is in the default stream:

You can only turn off showing changes for the profile pictures altogether. There is no specific setting to social media profile sync.

I'd love to see this links directory in action. The thumbnails on the marketplace are rather unclear.

If anybody would care to post a link to their forum so that I can have a look at it working, I'd be very grateful.

Two or three examples would be great

Umaar reacted to CheersnGears in Auto Clear Caches after Upgrade
    Hi IPS,
I'd like to make a suggestion to add a check box whenever upgrading an app to offer to automatically clear the system cache after an update.  I've notice that 98% of the time when I do an app update my site will slow to an absolute crawl until I manually clear the system cache.  It doesn't seem to matter if it is an Invision app or a marketplace app.  It would be nice when doing the upgrade to just check a box so that the script will auto clear cache when its done.  If this option is already available, maybe make it in a more obvious spot because I don't see it.

    Thanks,
    Drew

Umaar reacted to ahc in Club Suggestions
These are some common feature suggestions from my community regarding the clubs feature.  A lot of them are based around giving club owners more control over their own clubs and members. If there are any plugins/apps that can provide any of these functions, please point me in the right direction!
Move "Edit this x" option from the drop-down menu to a button next to the tab title.  The current placement for the edit option when a member wants to edit a specific club tab is not too user-friendly. Most would not know that they would have to click the club management menu just to make changes to one specific tab. An example of the new placement can be found on the calendar tab, which has a settings cog next to the tab title that is pretty useless since it has nothing to do with settings, which also confuses members. Add content creation permissions on the club level. Currently, there is no way for a club owner to set who can create topics in a forum tab, who can submit images in a gallery tab, and so on and so forth. It's basically all one blanket permission for the entire club which we get many complaints about. Some want forum tabs for informational purposes, or galleries to showcase their own artwork as a portfolio, for example. Ability for Owners/leaders/mods to mention the club member group and add club mentions as a notification setting option.  This is a popular feature request due to platforms like Discord that allow you to tag members based on user groups/roles. People prefer to be mentioned or "tagged" for important replies instead of following content and getting spammed with notifications for every reply or action performed. Allow club owners the ability to change the club type on the frontend. (Public/Open/Closed/Private/Read Only) I'm not even sure why this doesn't exist already? Any other platform I've been apart of that had some kind of group system allowed owners to be able to change this freely. Currently, our members have to submit a support ticket for us to change it via the ACP and this is a need we would like to eliminate. It's common for owners to create a private group so that they can take the time to set it up before opening it up for invitations. Add membership tiers. Some of them would love to use our clubs as Patreon/Ko-Fi alternatives, but are held back by there only being one membership fee option. Allowing them to create however many tiers they need personally would be great, but if that's not possible, having at least 3 tier options built-in would be a great compromise for now. Then some permissions to choose who can view which club tabs based on their membership level would round this out. Ability to hide the "Overview" tab. Quite simply, some don't like it and would prefer to hide it, but this one isn't that important.   Edit to clarify: With the ability to create custom pages added to clubs, they now prefer making custom pages as the new overview page without the activity feed, so that they can stylize it however they like with the use of tables and css.  The overview tab becomes redundant and some owners would like to just hide it if they've chosen to replace it with a custom page.
