virap got a reaction from Michael Collins in Direct audio recording
Normally, we use text to communicate through forums. But it would be great to see a way for users to click a microphone icon and be able to instead of typing their post, questions, reply just record an audio post.

Yep, that's reproducible - works fine on 4.6.12.1 (live site); same filter on 4.7.0 (test site) results in it being held.

There must a guide out there for ipb and cloudfront.

virap got a reaction from sobrenome in cloudfront setup guide
Are there any guides on how to setup cloudfront?
I found the s3 setup guide and everything worked out fine, but I can't find a guide for cloudfront.
Thank you.

virap reacted to Chris027 in Upgrade To Cloud Information
Hi Guys, I actually don't mind the new "Upgrade to Cloud" link in the AdminCP. It's something I would love to do. The advantages seem really nice.
However, the decision to upgrade or not would be ultra simple if there was a place in AdminCP that showed something like, "If you upgrade to the cloud plan, based on your current site stats and disk usage, the right plan would be ABC." This would put the information I need, right in front of me. Even if you couldn't assess disk usage, the other stats aligned with cloud plans would be really nice.
Yes, all of the info is probably there for me to find, but when in doubt, with a million other things going on in life, I just put it on the back burner.

virap got a reaction from Jordan Miller in Cloud trial migration
Hello. I signed up for cloud hosting trial with invision. But how do we move data from an invision self-hosted forum to a the trial cloud setup?
I don't see any conversion/migration tool included in the trial setup.
Also what would be the ideal approach of backing up self-hosted invison community for restoration on the cloud hosted invision?
Thanks

I don't see this as an "upgrade". Having advertising on the software I've paid several hundreds of dollars for not including the 6 month renewal fee it is a huge turn off.
If IPS would like to promote their hosting service that's fine, however a persistent nag whenever I'm on the ACP is egregious. Why not send me an email with an offer? Or perhaps maybe a discount since I've been such a loyal customer for over 11 years?

Nothing to fix. It’s just a newer/longer kind of IP address.

virap reacted to Randy Calvert in iOS broken images
Actually I just looked at the page source... the broken image on that page is because of a 404.
https://www.enotalone.com/uploads/monthly_2022_01/x977729E5-1DC6-40AE-8ACC-BE6316B598C3.thumb.png.116b1056940582a012c9940a4466c4ad.png.pagespeed.ic.sMdM5KcmmA.png
it looks to be a problem with mod_pagespeed. This is a 3rd party server module outside of the IPS software. You would need to either disable mod_pagespeed or work with your host to troubleshoot it.
mod_pagespeed serves different content to different browsers. This is why it's not happening across the board. I confirmed it's happening on not just iOS, but also on Safari on my MacBook Pro laptop. It appears to only be serving that version of the image to ANY Safari browser as it did not occur on Chrome.

It would be useful to optimize ips for display speed. the result is very poor on mobile devices.

so the minimum requirement is now 7.2.0. is there maximum?
Will elastic search 7.9 work with ipb 4.6.9?
Thanks.

Thank you Randy. did you do it following the process here? https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/setup-upgrade.html
Looks very complex process for me. Might need to hire someone unless there is a simpler guide on how to upgrade from elastic search 6.8 to 7.9

virap got a reaction from sobrenome in HumpDay: Similar Content, ActivityStreams uses Elasticsearch
Thank you Randy. that was very easy, updated through rpm to elasticsearch 7.16.9, updated the forum.
But now elastic related functions are broken on the website. For instance, this is the error I see in the activity stream page. Can someone help me fix the problem please.
