You are contradicting yourself a little there. These are either guidance, or requirements. They cant be both. The fact sites are using them doesn't make them a requirement. I understand you may like for these things to exist in the software, and feel free to do a feedback post on these to request changes in the platform if you would like for this to happen. But I cannot stress enough, you cant assume it's a requirement based on sites using them.
Just as an example. Almost every site on the internet has a footer of some type on their site. That doesn't mean having a footer is a requirement.

Thanks a lot for your patience and help @Nathan Explosion, I could find now! I'was searching in system by language word, not by "key". Now appears in 51 page.

The key is in - it's right there in front of you.

That isn't quick translating - that is "View word keys"
    This is quick translating...

Thee is no capability for this at present. If you wish to see what email notifications have been sent, you would really need to be using something like sendgrid, which tracks what is sent

Lindor reacted to Jim M in Charge renewal in expired card
This would be the system working as designed and not a bug. Many credit cards have subscription features that allow subscriptions to be authorized, even if the card is expired because a previous transaction took place. It is up to the card issuer to decline or not the card and therefore, this is a perfectly acceptable transaction. Additionally, what you're seeing there in the screenshot, would not be known to us with payment gateways as all we have is a transactional ID to attempt payment and the actual gateway holds the credit card details.
The user would need to manage their card if they do not want the card attempted.

Lindor reacted to AlexWebsites in Subscriptions - Multiple Choices
Subscriptions have been available for some time now and offer a good way to monetize your community. It would be nice if each subscription had the option of multiple offers - time frame/settings. Most sites these days offer a discount for an annual subscription. In IPS, you have to create an entirely new subscription/box rather than something like:

    That is great to hear!!
It is mostly getting the Zap to trigger.  Let's say I post a webinar on the community calendar for June 10th, 2024.  The current setup will fire the Zap as soon as the event is added (let's say today) and that isn't exactly ideal.  Now I need to add more steps to the Zap to try and schedule the further steps for 7 months from now.  The only way I found to do this with success is to have the Zap schedule the tasks in either a spreadsheet or a social media manager, but now it will not accept edits to the event.  So, if I change the start time, the Zap has already fired and is not going to process the changes to wherever it went.
If I wanted the change based on a group change in my community, yes.  But I cannot flip that and have my community make a change based on something else.  We only get an Update Member action and that is just a few options (name, email, password).  I can add/remove secondary groups, but it a fairly limiting in potential.

So essentially you are looking to be able to select a forum and all its subforums. If that is the case, you would need to post that up as a feedback item. At present this is not something that is possible.

Lindor reacted to Adriano Faria in Permissions for new groups
This can help as it will reduce significantly the work: you would need to set up the permissions for one forum and then copy to others.

If you’re dealing with that level of complexity and will continue to have very high volumes of groups, it might be worth looking at developing automation with a third party developer.

By deciding to have that level of granularity, you take on the challenge that it is a total pain to manage.

Just a suggestion, but as someone who loves Zapier for helping with tasks and automation, I am super happy to have Invision's custom Zapier app and also wish it had a lot more.
Currently, it is very much limited to triggers and not so much to actions. You can create a lot of things via actions, but not much else.
There is also the find action which is really nice, but nothing to really follow up with what it finds.
So here are some suggestions that I had.
Trigger on Published status as a trigger: It is overly difficult to just set up a zap to trigger something being published when it comes to scheduled content.  The dates are in the new content created sections, but it is numerous times easier to use an RSS feed from the site to trigger this than the actual site's Zapier.
Trigger on Event Start: I have had no luck getting zaps to work by using the new event created and then using the dates months in advance to trigger a zap.  The solution for me was linking my community calendar to a Google Calendar and using their Zap interaction to trigger on even start.  Again, there are ways to do it, but oddly not great solutions within the actual Zap from Invision.
Spam Tools (Flag as Spammer/Report Content/Hide Content): When dealing with a wave of spam that is getting past the built-in spam filters, it would be great to have Zaps as a backup to turn on.  I can easily have a tool like ChatGPT read a new topic created from a new account and with solid accuracy answer if it is spam or not.  In fact, I can even prompt it to look for any Airline Ticket Sales in the spam to limit possible mistakes.  Then the Invision Zap can even find the member who posted it.... but then it ends.  I could send a notice message to myself that spam is happening, but that really defeats the purpose of automation.  Allowing the Zap to act on content would open up a huge tool bag of anti-spam tools.
Changing User Groups: It would be really nice to have the actions that happen on one app be able to influence the user groups of users in my community.
Edit Blocks: Blocks are one of my favorite pieces of Invision Community and being able to automatically edit the content in these blocks via Zapier would be a huge asset!  From something as simple as replacing a link when a YouTube or Twitch goes live, to linking a block to an Excel spreadsheet for daily messages, placing sales in promotional blocks, or even mirroring messages across sites, etc. etc. the possibilities are endless.  This would greatly increase a community's ability to automate holiday stuff, sales, and so on.
Again, I do enjoy the actual Invision Community Zapier app, but I have to admit in the roughly 25 zaps that I use with my community, only about 5 use the actual app designed for Invision.

If you are going forum by forum, then change your approach by going to the group listing and click the padlock icon there for the group:

You then get this which is a one stop shop:

I've been using IPB since 2006 with the MSSQL driver.   I was always attracted to the flexibility of the platform with minimal programming.
Recently tech support has become more difficult.  It's harder to find code examples and removing the marketplace killed a creativity source for me.   I had a stroke a few years ago, so my development skills are retarded, but still I believe this is one of the poorer organized forms in regards to technical documentation.
A wiki, kept up to date by your community, would really help in development IMHO.
    Good luck all!

    Hi team,
I think that will be a great update to add recent activity in a search results for every topic. Because now only show the creation date, so looks like is an old topic, and they can have a lot recent replies so it is a recent hot topic.
For exemple, this topic named "My site is down / slow" was created 09/08/23 but have last reply in 11/15/23 (Last wednesday) If we show the last reply field too we offer to user signals of freshness and actuality.
Actually looks like all topics results are olds.
Can you consider to future updates? Thanks

Removing renewal terms and cancelling are not the same thing. They have removed renewal terms, so it will not renew. However it does not expire until 16th (they have already paid for that period). Also you have a grace period of 1 day for them to choose to renew, which means its actually 17th

    Hi team,
If we have many groups and many content it is very complicated to set permissions because all the groups appear out of order.
We only order by name in the groups page, can be useful to search some group name but not when set permissions in new forum created. We've all groups mixed, guests, admin, moderators, partners, ex-partners, etcc... and it's dificult
So It would be very useful to be able to sort them manually as we do with the forums and have them appear in this order when assigning permissions. This would save us time and many errors when assigning privileges in our communities.
Can you consider for upcoming upgrades?
    Thanks a lot.

Lindor reacted to Marc Stridgen in Who uses zapier and what for?
There is clearly an issue being investigated in your ticket which is causing a problem with the traditional Zapier connection, which is why my colleague suggests using webhooks instead. Of course, you can certainly suspect them to be the same if you like, however I'd personally go for the opinion of the person who writes them 😉

We're still investigating your ticket, but an alternative would be to use IPS webhooks in combination with Zapier https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496326446989-Send-webhooks-in-Zaps to receive the data and then forward them to Active Campaign.

    Hello,
The available GeoIP integration is a very good idea. However, in practice it causes more confusion instead of helping with security, because the location detection is highly inaccurate.
I looked this up and it seems the integration uses an API on IPS infrastructure, which in turn polls the free version of the MaxMind databse (GeoLite2).
Is there any way to switch the GeoIP integration to our own Maxmind subscription? We already have a GeoIP2 City Database subscription and we'd like to use it.
    Thanks!

That is unfortunate. We'll have to disable the feature completely. Thank you for the assistance.
Hopefully this will be taken into consideration, as it shouldn't be very complicated to do (basically instead of polling the IPS remote API, simply read the $_SERVER variables set by the maxminddb server module).
Meanwhile, we could attempt to develop this ourselves, as an alternate integration. Is it possible to develop 3rd party integrations without breaking anthing?
