Hello everyone, I'm hosted with IPS. I've searched high and low for plugins and code to support what I'm trying to accomplish, which is to simply play a url like the following: https://stream1-idigitalmedium.radioca.st/stream I've purchased this code: https://codecanyon.net/item/shout-html5-radio-player-with-ads-shoutcast-and-icecast-support/20522568 Of course I am scratching my head as in how I can upload these files to the server (it would connect to a remote audio that I am hosting using shoutcast). I'm thinking support will tell me its out of scope (which is the answer I get for most of my requests) Really, all I want to know is: How can I have HTML5 streaming of Shoutcast 2 audio with IPS? Open to any and all suggestions! Plugins that work, other ways of inserting code (including source), etc. I've seen other people ask on here and receive no response. Thank you in advance! 🙂 Keith

Hello everyone, I'm wanting to connect Mailchimp to my cloud hosted IPS. Mailchimp gave me some code to add to verify the site. Asked support, they said something about adding to templates. I'm also aware of this plugin below, but starting to see renewal costs go up. (and Im not sure if it's necessary) Simply put - I just want to: A. Verify my domain with MailChimp B. Figure out how to add a newsletter signup to site (popup would be nice too) ....and do these things with the least amount of code, backend template configs, etc. I'm an IT guy, but not a programmer. I always avoid any configuration changes to the backend whenever possible. Vanilla. 🙂 Thanks in advance! Thank you. However, I am just trying to get it to look like the rest of the site. By default I can control the color of post backgrounds against a page background color. Goal: a page or article or widget with a white body background against a gray page background (global) Is there any way to do that? below is how rest of site is. second screenshot is what I see instead. of course, in example below it is a wysiwyg widget (yellow is highlighted where I wish it was white) so I'm kind of leading you off track. But my goal is all pages, widgets, or articles should all have white background - just like posts do! https://www.varanormal.com/ Kinda surprised developers didn't think of this and have it built into the front-end colors. Hello everyone, We use hosted IPS cloud solution. I'd like for my background to be a separate setting from page background color, but they are set in the same setting in the cp admin theme editor. Would someone be willing to provide me css code to make all page backgrounds (but not the entire background) white? I realize this is most likely NOT your issue, but just putting here in case it helps someone else. After logging out of my site, I saved the login page as my favorite not realizing the url was NOT https://site.com/login As a result I had issues, and ended up figuring it out myself and I updated the bookmark to not have the extra string after it. I was trippin' cuz its not unusual for me to have multiple sessions open in firefox and chrome on multiple screens. Keith

Hello everyone, We have tons of historical content we want to publish. The content: won't be posted in order could be hundreds of articles\pages, etc But we want to: display it on front-end in chronological order at a later date. I am told that articles use a database and can be sorted any way one wants. Haven't yet done that, because Im a noob and my understanding of the connection between articles and databases is a little vague at the moment. We have LOTS of content that will need to be displayed in chronological order - the entire history of a certain niche of paranormal. In addition, we have 3 small SQL databases we want to import later, but I can make a different post for that. We're just trying to figure out now, before we start - what is the best way to hack at a project this big? We will also want users to be able to enter this content on the front-end, (UGC user-generated content) Maybe my 2 most important questions are: can someone explain in laymans terms what the connection between articles and databases is whats the best way to sort say 500 articles by a pre-defined date. Should we name the articles 19860126 to indicate January 26th, 1986? and just sort by the title - or is there a much better way? Thank you so much for your help, it is very much appreciated. Hi, we use ips hosted solution 4.5.x Noticed that theres not a "sent" folder in messages. Just to play I added a "sent" folder by typing in the name, but do not see anything. Is this standard? Thanks! Keith

May I presume that this doesn't work in the IPS hosted cloud version? Honestly, I can tell you're a decent person, you like what you do, etc - if you're ok with constructive comments......most people will not even consider using your software until we see a much higher number of downloads and purchases. Would classify it as very high risk. And it would be helpful if promo videos were shorter 🙂 🙂 Don't get me wrong - we're dying to have chat on our site. But only if it's reliable, tried and true. Hoping you and others will be successful in current and future attempts to imitate functions people love on Facebook, as that's our competition for sure! Thanks, Keith

Hi everyone, We're using cloud hosted solution with IPS. We've noticed listings by user profiles indicating "dabbler" "onlooker" etc. I see where to setup ranks, but I am wondering - is that the same thing? Wondering why I don't see any of these pre-defined ranks in my panel already. Thanks, Keith

Hello everyone. Invision Support sent me here. I asked how I can change the background color of a page. They said use CSS because there is no such setting to change. I think it probably uses the same setting in a particular area of the theme and I most likely will have to change that item....but of course it might occur site-wide. Don't like to use custom css because it often becomes dependent on the person that set it up. And that person is not me. Should I just play it safe and revert the background of entire site to default (white)? Thanks, Keith

I have the same question and sent ticket to Invision Support today. I only want trusted user groups to be able to "Upload" to the "Downloads" section. They should still have the ability to upload to forums, and download from anywhere. Just dont want all users to have the ability to upload to that section only. Keith

Yes, I need it to be by group. Not going to let regular users upload god knows what and then when something happens I'm responsible. Invision support confirms there is no virus protection built in. Only trusted people should be able to upload all extensions. K

Hello everyone, my first post, or feature request to the community! Requesting consideration of the following: Limit File Extensions Type Uploads by User Group Reasons Viruses can be packed in .exe, .zip, heck even word docs! How about limiting file types by group (adding that functionality to the group page) This way, only trusted groups could upload, for example a nice big .zip file. Because they're a trusted user that you've elevated to that group, their limitations would allow them to do that. Allowing any user to submit any type of file they want is completely unsafe and puts other users at risk. Thanks, and look forward to seeing ya'll more often! 🙂 Keith
