  1. I can only assume it is something on my site then that possibly interferes. I have made sure the plugin no longer exists and I have made sure all the group settings are correct for the application, however I still have to manually refresh the page for the counter to update. I am referring to the this site where this application is being used : https://extremehw.net/ I note in your video you are clicking on "Mark Site As Read", I am trying to use the "Mark Forum As Read" function. If I use the "Mark Site As Read" the application functions correctly. Can we make it do the same for Mark Forum As Read" ?
  2. Thanks! I did just install the new app, but the behaviour is still the same...at least for me. When I mark a forum as read, the page refreshes but the counter does not, the counter only updates when I refresh the page via the browser.

  5. @Adriano Faria an improvement request if possible as per here: Summary, when a user in any given forum selects "Mark forum as read", when the page refreshes it will update the forum, but not the unread counter. You need to do an additional refresh for the counter to update. Can it be made so the counter refreshes when the system automatically refreshes the page when marking all items read ?   7. Hey all, I had a look through the notification settings on my IPS site and note there does not seem to be an option to receive only a single daily digest email, did I miss something or is this something that is not part of the suite ? Thanks P
  8. Marc, Thanks for clarifying the queries. Can you please note this as a feature suggestion and pass on the idea to thr IPS dev team for future implementation? It would be great to have flexibility in Commerce.
  9. Thanks Marc. Although my queries are not addressed, let me rephrase with some edits: ** Subscription purchase is mandatory for registering a new account. ** Query-1. A Guest (unregistered member) registers with a subscription (with 7-day free trial), and is supposed to move into PREMIUM group C. During the trial period, in which group they would be? Query-2. The renewal term starts at $10 per month; and upon successful payment, will they remain in the same PREMIUM group C? Query-3. Do the change of group action occur during the renewal or once they bought the trial subscription? Query-4. If their renewal term does not start due to payment issues at their end; will they remain in PREMIUM group C? If not, then where? Query-5. In which group they will move back if the purchase expires or is canceled? Remember, they were registered from being Guest. Any knowledgable member can guide please.

Hello all, Please guide me as to how this model could work for subscriptions? ** Subscription purchase is mandatory for registering a new account. ** Member Groups: -- Guest: Unregistered -- A (BASIC): Minimal access (IPS Group ID=3 default) -- B (TRIAL): Average access (IPS Group ID=7) -- C (Premium): Full access (IPS Group ID=8) We want when a Guest (unregistered member) buys a 7-day free trial subscription upon registration, they are moved into TRIAL group B. After 7-day free trial, the renewal term starts at $10 per month; and upon successful payment, they are then moved into PREMIUM group C. The subscription package is set when their purchase expires or is canceled, they go back into the previous group; ideally we want them to be moved back into BASIC group A. Ques-1. Will they be moved from Guest (unregistered) to PREMIUM group C immediately upon registration; or initially they will be moved to BASIC group A/B for 7 days, and then after 7-day free trial, they move to PREMIUM group C? How does that work? Ques-2. After 7-day free trial, if their renewal term does not start due to payment issues at their end; will they remain in group A/B (until their payment issue is resolved) and continue to enjoy the perks of group A/B free trial membership unless an Admin takes some manual action? Or they will be moved out from group A/B and placed in the Guest group? And if they move into the Guest group, will they still be a registered member (i.e. can they login) or their registration will be deleted from the system (like they were unregistered visitor before registering)? Please advise, how to achieve this. I have gone through the IPS docs, guides and forum topics; but unable to find any solution. Thanks
  11. Hello all, Regarding a recent topic of mine. @Jim M suggested I make a formal feature suggestion. Regarding the Checkout process for Subscription Packages or Donations (or anything involving the checkout process). We recently had the issue whereby bots would continuously try to make donations, ultimately this would fail. However the bot would proceed to do the literally hundreds of times over the period of a few hours. We want to keep our donations open to legitimate Guests for income reasons, but at the moment this comes at the risk of a bot attack. While we could block some of these attacks at the server level, this is not very efficient as the locations geographically and IP wise will always be different and we would need to keep adding offenders on an adhoc basis. So having an inline protection in IPS would make more sense. My suggestion would be that during the checkout process that there is some form of captcha or similar method to prevent the bots from doing what they are doing. What do you think ? Many thanks, P
  12. Hey Jim, I will take a look 🙂 As per your advice I have removed "Members" from the protected groups. With that being said, looking at the current settings we have for subscriptions regarding the assigning of user groups, does everything look like it should work correctly ? Thanks, P

  14. While I agree that is the most sensible way to go about it, is there not a way to implement a captcha method of sorts to help mitigate it? Blocking from the network level is fine, but would have to be done on a case by case basis depending on the origin of the attach etc. I would have thought a captcha method would catch any and all different offenders.
  15. Hey Jim I have not deleted any groups in a good while, do the activity notes state which group was removed ?. None of the groups which should have been applied to the user have been removed, possibly edited but that should not make any difference I would imagine. I would still have expected all the groups selected in the subscription settings to have been applied to the user.

Hello all, Not sure if anyone else has had this, but within the last 30 days I have had two accounts register with the site and then try and purchase one of our premium products, however they try the purchase like 500 times, so this is definitely a bot. Is there a way to mitigate this from happening ? Thanks, P

  18. Hello. I came across a strange occurrence today. A member purchased one of our premium membership packages. I received a message from them stating that even though they had made the purchase, their account was still a standard account. After investigating there account had not been automatically added to the appropriate user groups as per the subscription setup. Below are the current settings of the premium product. It is set so that upon purchase, the user is moved to the primary user group of Premium Silver. They are then added to the secondary user groups of Members & Marketplace enabled. I could see that the user had been added to the Marketplace user group as a secondary, which is correct. However their primary user group as still Members and the Premium User group had not been set at all. I have 3 other products set up this way, so I am forced to assume there will be issues with the others. Any ideas ? Many thanks, P

  21. Hello folks, The forums was installed at subdomain (abc.xyz.com) with 2FA activated which was working fine. Recently, I migrated the forums to the root (xyz.com); the migration was successful, however was not able to login (as an Admin to AdminCP/frontend; or the members at frontend) due to the 2FA problem. I believe that perhaps the 2FA stored data is somehow not ported during the migration; even though I and other Admins and members entered their security question/answer correctly. Next, I turned OFF the MFA settings from init.php file; tried to login to the AdminCP, and this time was not presented with the 2FA page and was able to get in the AdminCP. Then, inside the AdminCP, I went to Members profile and updated my security question/answer and saved it; then logged out. Next, I turned ON the MFA settings in the init.php file. Then, I logged in the AdminCP and entered the same 2FA security question/answer and was able to get in without an issue. Since this episode for login with 2FA cannot be repeated for every hundreds of members, I have turned off the 2FA from AdminCP to avoid members complaining they can't login. But I really want to enable the 2FA for everyone back like it was before migration. What is the possible cause for this error (as everything during the migration went fine and the forums is online now)? Any help will be appreciated. Note: In order to pull IPS Support team for diagnostics, I logged in to the client area for raising a ticket, but was surprised to know that: Your current plan (self-hosted) does not include email support. All I have to post the issue here. Anyone from IPS team can tell what is the procedure to get the email support/ticket system service back? I can't see any option in the client area to subscribe to it. Kim
