  1. Hey guys,

    A very simple question, when images are uploaded to the IPS suite, is any form of compression undertaken? I am trying to eliminate an issue where clear uploaded images to the site (through adminCP as part of a custom award app) are appearing as it they are a lower definition. Of course this can be a server side setting or even the app in question, but I just want to remove IPS as a factor or indeed ad it as a factor for investigation.

    Many thanks,
    P

    It’s a non-issue. Safari did this years ago already. Google is a long time late to the party.

    I have tagged our developers on this in case any further comment is needed. But generally unless you are developing for the product yourself, these arent things you would worry about. We update things during upgrades all the time that are outdated or changed on other environments 🙂

    Thanks guys, I figured this was the case that A. This is old news, so far as what browsers are doing these day and B. Any required alterations on a software level for the platform would be taken care of IPS.

    I only asked as a user with web development experience sent me a message with the following screenshots, just to make me aware, which spurred me to follow up with IPS on what will happen regarding Chrome etc.

    Could contain: File, Webpage, Computer Hardware, Electronics, Hardware, Monitor, Screen

  3. Hey guys,

    It is likely this has already been covered in another post/blog but what preparations have IPS made in light of Google/Chrome killing off 3rd party cookies and the introduction of the Privacy Sandbox?

    Many thanks
    P

  4. Hello,

    I noticed a strange issue with editing an image out of a topic today. When I tried to deleted an inserted image (mistakenly placed at the end of a post), it would seemingly remove from the post, however upon saving the edit the image would return. I have tried a few times and have the same result.

    I have disabled all my plugins/apps as well as switching back to the default theme to see if that causing the issue, but it made no difference. I made a short video as attached to demonstrate the issue that I shared with one of my personal developers, he also came to the conclusion it may be a possible IPS related bug.

    Any help appreciated.

    Many thanks,
    P

    Thanks for this 🙂

    While I have your attention (You cannot receive PM's apparently, so have to put it here)

    I have been trying to get some support via email at support@invisionify.com with respects to account issues I am having on your site, but I have not had a response to my further queries.

    To cut a long story short I purchased the "Back 2 Top" plugin from yourself and redeemed it via my marketplace app key on your prior website Vort3x.dev, however since you created/moved to the new website https://invisionify.com/ , my account has been lost and I no longer have access to the app purchase/updates.

    If I create a new account on your new site, can I redeem this key again?

    Thanks,
    P

  6. Hey guys,

    I am looking to setup an FAQ section on my community but do not see such an option available on the stock IPS software. Did I miss something ? If this is not available, is there a known custom application that can be installed to achieve this ?

    Many thanks,
    P

    There is no physical products section. It’s just “products”, with an option to be physical or not. Long story short: those product subscriptions are not going away at this time.

    So, to be clear, the "Store" in IPS is staying ? I note they have the notice regarding "Physical Items" being deprecated, but I guess I took that as the Store overall at some point is going bye bye as it was a notice displayed in the "Products Groups" listing page

    Could contain: Text, Page, Computer Hardware, Electronics, Hardware

    PHYSICAL products are being deprecated.

    Correct, but I was using the Physical Product section for the Recurring Donations, as that way I was able to have users have the choice of have a Premium Subscription (From the subscription page) and sign up for the Recurring Donations (Hosted via products).

    Now that the Store is being deprecated...this is why I have my issue.

  9. Hey guys,

    So I have stumbled on what looks to be a limitation of the current commerce implementation. I currently offer multiple different subscription packages. These packages are separated into two groups.

    We have our Premium subscriptions which give you additional perks on the site & we have our Recurring Donation subscription for those who would like to also donate monthly.

    Originally the Recurring Donations used to be setup as "Products" in the store section. However as IPS is deprecating that, I have had to move the Recurring Donations into the Subscriptions.

    The issue is, our members want to be able to note only have an active subscription for Premium perks, but also want to subscribe to Recurring Donations, however what I am finding is once a user is subscribed to a Premium Package, they can subscribe to nothing more as they get the below message.

    Could contain: Computer Hardware, Electronics, Hardware, Monitor, Screen, City, Outdoors, Text

    Is there a chance that in future commerce implementation we can have the option to allow users to subscribe to multiple items ?

    Does anyone know of a custom plugin that would give this enhancement ?

    Thanks,
    P

    This will be fixed in our next release. This is the solution we ended up applying:

    [data-blockid^="app_gallery_imageFeed_"] .cGalleryWidgetList .ipsImageBlock__main{
    	display: block;
    	text-align: center;
    }

    Thanks for the work guys, where would I need to insert this ? I assume that once the official release comes out I would not need to remove this as it is a part of the next IPS release ?

    Do you have any external caching running at all that may be influencing this? If so, could you please disable and let us know if this resolves the issue?

    Yes, we use cloud flare, however disabling it has no effect. I disabled it as well as did a full purge. I then also tried in incognito mode to make sure it was not a current browser session cache and I still need to hit refresh a couple of times to get the images to finally load.

    Thanks,
    P

  12. Hello guys,

    I am having an issue which was not a problem up until around the new version of IPS 4.7.15 was installed. It is also worth noting our server is operating on PHP 8.1.27

    On our homepage we have the "Top Picks Images" widget which is linked to an image album on the site. It now has an odd behaviour whereby it will show the image titles, but no image. I have noted that upon multiple refreshes, you can sometimes get the images to load, but that is not ideal.

    This is what you see on first page load +

    Could contain: Computer Hardware, Electronics, Hardware, Monitor, Screen, Text

    Whereas it should look like this, but you can only get to this after many refreshes.

    Could contain: Computer Hardware, Electronics, Hardware

    I do not think it is the custom theme we are using as I have just tried the default IPS theme and I get the same results. Is this a known issue ? Any help is fixing this would be appreciated.

    Many thanks,
    P

    While it doesnt quote the content, it does link to the content if given from that post. The issue here I believe is in how you are giving the warning. You can do it by pointing at the name in the post, clicking the moderator options button (3 dots) and you will see warn user there. If you go to their profile itself, the system has no way to know what you are giving the warning for

    Could contain: Page, Text

    Thanks for the info. If I go that route so that the Warning is linked to that particular post, does the warned user see that inherent link so they can associate the warning with their posted content ? I assume mods and admins can see the link but unsure if a standard user will.

  14. Hey guys,

    Quick question. So far as I know, to warn a user, you have to go into their profile and click the "Warn User" button, this then brings up the window where you can select the warning and enter in text relating to the warning etc, or edit the text already associated to the warning.

    However, is there any built in functionality in IPS where a Warn button is on the users posts/postbit so that when it is clicked, the offending content is auto quoted into the warning message ? I just find this makes life easier for moderators and also ensures each warning has the correct amount of context so the offending users is 100% clear on why they were warned for. This also helps avoid human error if a mod forgets to add in the context manually.

    Perhaps I have missed something, it is a feature I have seen on other platforms and curious if it is here on IPS or if this is going to have to be a custom modification.

    Thanks,
    P
