The button above the map is only for entering member locations. All other markers have to go through the "Browse Markers" link. You can also use the "+ Create" menu in the header, which is always available.

Current version has an issue in PHP 8.1 only if you're using the setting to add ignore topics to new members.
    New version submitted: IPS 4.7 & 4.6 with PHP 8.1, 8.0 and 7.4 compatible.

Great idea but no we don't use it. It's hard enough with sites like Facebook taking traffic and discussion away from the main forum.

Hey team, happy Thump Day! We moved this week's edition of Hump Day to Thursday to give you a moment to read our new blog post on the Achievements upgrade included in our new release 4.6.8 (out now!).
There's also a great blog post (if I do say so myself 😏) about the new stats and reporting metrics in 4.6.8 (again, out now!).
Have you updated your community to 4.6.8 yet? Notice any improvements? Dug into the moderator stats?
Here's a screen shot from my own community. It shows the warnings issued by our moderation team in the last month. Pretty interesting, right? I love that I can see now what the recurring warnings are so that we can come up with better ways to help the community in the future (and hopefully see a decline in these stats).

I also think the Badges metrics are super interesting, too. Looks like there's been a lot of members hitting that one-week target and earning that badge. I love being able to dive into the stats like this!

If you're down to share some of your own community's stats, that'd be awesome! We could give each other tips and tricks for bettering our community management skills.

Here's a list of updates/changes/fixes our dev team have accomplished in the last 7 days.
By the way, for a full list of 4.6.8 changes, please visit our release notes page 🙂

Happy hump day, team! Apologies for no hump day post from me last week - I was on the streets of LA freedom fighting for Britney. 💪😅 However, this post isn't about me 😏 this is about us officially releasing 4.6.7 into the wild! It's available to you now!

I am also someone who attempts to search before starting a new topic, but unfortunately the search here is not very good.  It would be immensely helpful if you defaulted to AND'ing search terms, but even then I often have to use google's "site:invisioncommunity.com" feature to find relevant topics here.

I obviously didn't make myself clear. It was a general observation about people having to complain before action is taken where a bit of foresight and planning could have avoided the mess. I think this is the biggest grip people have right now.
I genuinely believe the IPS staff are doing a great job. I recently had my VB migration issues resolved by @Stuart Silvester and my forum has never been better.
Going against the grain here and I know the decision has been reverted but yearly payment was another non issue for me, shame we can't have both options. I like to pay my bills and not have to worry about them but I understand people don't like change and if that's the way its always been done here in the past so be it.

I appreciate the feedback, candor and your kind words as well. Annual payments are something we would still like to explore and if we can modify the infrastructure to accommodate both, I personally have no issue with doing so. It will be something we revisit at a later date.
I am truly appreciative of this post; your earlier post(s) troubled me personally as being evil, disconnected and full of marketing fluff is not the image we want to project. I'm grateful you provided the opportunity for the dialogue to evolve, for feedback to be heard and actioned and to witness some of the thought and care that went into some of these changes behind the scenes. I apologize that our communication missed the mark and again appreciate the constructive feedback and patience while we digested and acted upon same.
I'm all in on the group hug.

I want to thank you all for your feedback. I appreciate everyone who took the time to leave their thoughts and concerns. I've read every single one and replied to almost all of them.
Firstly, I want to say that I understand that the messaging that went out ahead of this update fell short of what you deserve, and I want to apologise for that.
After spending two days reading every single post, almost all concerns fall into these three areas:
    1) The future of support
I've seen many people use the phrase 'no more support', which isn't true. I know the change from ticket support to staffed community support is a significant change, but I genuinely believe that it will benefit customers. I believe that we can create a living knowledge base of solved issues just like many brands do. For example, when I have a problem with my iPhone, I google it and invariably end up with a link to a topic within their support forums with a solved answer. I don't need to raise a ticket with them and wait for a reply.
There are many "what about" concerns mixed in, and I ask you to try the new staffed community support areas and give us your feedback once you've used it regularly. We will work with you based on that feedback and make improvements where it is needed.
We have custom functionality that shows our team links to your client accounts, including license keys, etc., so we know who you are and have all your information right next to the topic. You will never need to divulge personal information, or even your site URL if you do not want to.
If your support issue is complex or needs developer intervention, with a click of a button, our technicians can convert this into a ticket for you and we will continue to resolve the issue with you in that ticket.
You will be in safe hands.
    2) Price Rises
We have not raised our prices for well over a decade. We've always been reluctant to do it and held off for too long, resulting in a large jump to make up for a lost time.
We can't reduce the prices to their pre-September levels, but we will be much more mindful of price rises in the future.
    3) Annual Renewals
We want to simplify billing and reduce the number of invoices we need to send, and you need to pay. An annual invoice seemed logical to achieve this.
However, you have made it clear that moving to annual renewals affects your budgeting, and we have listened to that.
We have reverted this decision and have restored 6-month renewals in your client area. This is not a temporary one-off offer; it's a permanent change.
Again, I want to thank you all for being so vocal and passionate about Invision Community. We want to keep offering you the very best community platform to help your communities succeed.

Several observations as a new customer.
Since moving to IPS there seems to be a lack or foresight on major issue like the one that's being discussed. No support for Zapier for self hosted comes straight to mind. It also feels to me that self hosted customers are being treated second rate which is sad. I've noticed many questions regarding self hosting being skipped over and ignored.
I've got zero issue with a price hike as long as I'm getting value for money. Compared to its competitors IPS is by far the best and I've tried them all (Troll as some might). I'm sorry but trying to blame IPS for your lack of traffic or ability to sustain your site is wrong. Social media is the real enemy to the traditional forum.
Hopefully the IPS team sit down and think hard before making announcements like this in the future. I can understand peoples anger having this dumped on them with little to no warning.

What strange email I got today from @Matt
First the subject was somehow give the idea my account license had problem, then they are good news to start with as price rise? Good news for whom? Yes for IPS indeed not for customers.
I and other whom been with IPS from start been with this, no problem, if that will lead for better support, but:
Now with this price rise you drop the support (no matters how you explain it, it very clear you drop your support) and force me to use the community for it, or of Couse pay as well for support.
My records show I always goes and supporting IPS, but this time, the term for support is not acceptable at all.
I hope you reconsider you support term again, thanks.

It's customer service like this that a lot of forum software companies are missing these days. Glad to be back and be part of the IPS family once again.
