There’s also going to be a new Zapier trigger which gets fired when a reply gets marked as solution.

A very interesting interview. It was nice to put a face to the name. Matt looks a bit like Patrick Dempsy to me.
I wanted to congratulate all the Ips staff again on their 20 year anniversary and to many more years to come. You guys have done an amazing work. I know that I have said this before, but Ipb is amazing and it keeps getting better and better. It is truly the best and the leading software in the forum world. With the latest version, you took the game to a whole new level. My hat goes off to you.
If you guys were to do this over again, was there anything that you would do differently now? What was the greatest challenge that you had to overcome when you started out?
Any chance of posting a few photos of those hungover days in London and Virginia 😄

    "Hot garbage" is a vibe.
The blog application is designed for community blogging more than one source blogging as we do in our news blog. As you can see, Pages is more than capable of powering a block with a few custom templates. In terms of the community blog, what would you like to see added?
Appreciate the kind words, thank you!

What would I do differently? I honestly don't know. I'm pretty happy where we ended up and making changes to decision making may have taken us elsewhere. There's some wasted time in pursuing a 'social' element to the software in response to the birth of Facebook that I'd not bother doing again. I'm pretty happy with all the big decisions we made.

In terms of challenges starting out; just keeping the lights on honestly. We barely covered costs and a small wage for ourselves for years. Turns out there's not a lot of money made when you give away software. 😀

As for the photos? Never say never but probably not. 😇

The short version is that I built another platform called Ikonboard, got overwhelmed, sold it to someone who made promises and then broke those promises. This someone had also bought something Charles built. Charles and I decided it was time to move on so started "IBForums/Invision Power Services" together. From that time, I think only Rikki was involved in Ikonboard although most of the team have been with is for 10-15+ years.

Miss_B reacted to Davyc in Battling toxicity in communities with kindness and vulnerability
There is one hole in this line of thought, not that I totally disagree with it, but vulnerability can lead to exploitation, so you would need to measure this with some other form of displaying firmness.  How you would do that will depend on the individual.  Some people don't like to portray vulnerability, because of the issue of potential exploitation. I would replace the word and the meaning with "understanding" and finding out what leads to the toxicity.  It's extremely easy to ignore the root of an issue and react rather than discover.
Some people are just generally nasty, that's in their nature and these kinds of people will swarm on displays of vulnerability and exploit them to the full, which will raise the toxicity levels higher. So, show some understanding, discover why and then decide on how to deal with the issue.  It may be that some people will be toxic to get attention, their rational posts may be ignored whilst their toxic ones attract attention.
I don't believe there is a one-stop-shop-solution to people's behaviour and every case needs to be measured with the right kind of response. Of course, this means that Admins and Moderators need to be more understanding of people's foibles and ways and get to the root of an issue and then sort it from there.  Many Admins and Moderators may not see this as the right approach and deal with issues differently, it's about finding out what works best for them and whether their methodology actually works in turning toxic into enjoyable.

@Jordan Invision has been anything but hostile as far as I have seen.  I am curious to see what you perceive as hostile. Can you indeed post the link to those posts where he has been 'hostile' according to you?
