  1. Assuming that all the db and the other info have been entered correctly to the conf_global.php file, it looks like that for some reason your forum is not able to connect to MySQL. What value have you entered for the sql_host at the conf_global.php file? Are you on a shared host or do you have your own vps/dedicated box?
  2. It looks like to me like you need help with the Chatbox app rather than the Welcome app. The Welcome app doesn't send the welcome message on other apps by default and this doesn't fall under the support category, but under the 'extra work' category.
  3. The webroot is when your forum has been installed inside the /public_html/ or /www/ directory and not in another folder or subdomain. Which means that your forum is accessible via the following url: www.yourforumurl.com Most likely you have not uploaded the files correctly. You should upload and overwrite your forum folders with those from the Ipb package keeping the structure intact.
  4. Hello, I have just approved your account at my forum.
  5. You don't need to do a manual upgrage in the old VPS. You can skip that part. First uninstall all third party apps/plugins/themes you have in use in the old forum in the old vps. Then install the latest (stable) version of Ipb in your new VPS, export the database backup of your old forum and import it to the database of your freshly installed forum and as last step run the upgrader. This is the fasted way to do that imo. Not long ago, I moved hosts and upgraded an older forum for someone here and the above mentioned method worked flawlessly. Hope it helps.
  6. That is a general error and it doesn't tell us much as to what is causing it. Can you access your admin panel? If you can, have a look at the System Logs and post here the most recent error messages logged in there. Another thing, what was the latest change/modification done to the forum prior to this happening?
  7. It should be the path of those vbulletin's directories.
  8. If you haven't edited those files yourself, you can ask your host to check their logs and see who accessed them and how. You can also check the ftp logs and see if there was any unusal activity around the time that those files were modified.
  9. Have a look at my app. It allwos the admins and other staff members to select the validating members that they want to approve and/or delete. https://www.yourforumservices.com/index.php?/topic/23-modcp-member-approval/#comment-23
  10. This is almost always server related. When you ran those sql queries, did you encounter any issues? What version are you upgrading from?
  11. Can you post a screenshot of the root forum folder's structure when logged in from either ftp or the File Manager?
  12. Is the aforementioned file present inside the root of your forum folder and are all the details entered correctly?
  13. If the original file has been retored then it shouldn't redirect to the install page. Have you entered the correct database details?
  14. Does it happen for multiple accounts or for a single one? In the meantime give the solution mentioned in the below topic a try and see if it will work for you as well.
  15. Did you try to install a new theme? If that was the case, is the theme compatible with your forum version? If that was not the case, what was the latest change done to the forum prior to the error happening? In the meantime try to use the Recovery Mode to get access to your Admin Panel.
  16. The best way would be to ask in the plugins/apps support topics or contact their developers directly and ask them what version are they compatible with.
  17. After you log into your WHM panel as the root user, type ‘backup’ in the search field, then click on the Backup Configuration option the Backup and from there Set your Scheduling and Retention preferences accordingly. One word of advice if I may, alsways check your backups to make sure that it has been done thoroughly and it is not corrupted. Hope it helps.
  18. What version of Ipb and php do you have? Most likely this is an incompatible issue between the plugin and your forum/php version. Trying the recovery mode should bring your forum back. If that won't work for some reason, you can try to uninstall that plugin manually. For future reference, make sure that any thrid party stuff that you install is fully compatible with your forum version.
  19. Have you installed any third party stuff that has to do with the Announcement System? If you disable all third party apps/plugins, does the error still happen? What is the php version at the new host?
  20. Do you mean that you solved the issue? That's great. Do you mind sharing the solution as it will help other users as well who might run into the same issue as well.
  21. What application would that be? Have you reached out to its developer? Are there any more errors logged in the SYstem Logs page pertaining to that application? It might help in diagnosing the issue as to why it is not working on your live board.
  22. As it happened past week I had coded an app for someone who had the same issue like you do, but using a different software. The app recorded all non action visits (aka board index, individual boards and topics) from an IP address within the session data. If the visitor was recorded as having more hits than a specified number of times per minutes, the app placed an automatically ban in the .htaccess file. The default was set for one hit every 2 seconds which is a reasonable time frame for non robot actions. This helped a lot for them. If you are interested I can code it for Ipb too for a fee. Please contact me in private should you be interested to have the app developed for your forum.
  23. That is a general error and doesn't tell us much. Can you check the Systems Log page and see if there are any errors logged in there pertaining to this? Also, what was the latest change done to the forum prior to this happening? If I were you, I would upgrade the forum a.s.a.p. as advised above.
  24. Were they any changes/modifications made to the forum prior to this happening? Can you check your Server Error logs and see what messages have been logged in there since the time that the error happened at your forum?
