Is that so? But so far I only see actual users oder "Guest" listed, no search engine at all, and in the past there were always several bots listed. Could there be some conflict with the IPFocus theme I am using?

Once a year? I guess you don’t to any moderation on your forums.

IP-Gamers reacted to Chippy365 in Better representation of a banned user
Moderators don't have the ability to move members between groups. Also not all offences require a permanent ban. Some are suspended for a specific time period like a week etc. We don't move those people because trying to track each member's time period would be much more time consuming.
With respect, I don't tell you how to moderate your community and you shouldn't tell others how to moderate theirs unless they ask for advice. What works for one community doesn't necessarily work for another. And to be frank, nobody asked for lectures on how to moderate their community so the comments don't really add anything to the discussion other than telling us you moderate your community differently. Great, your moderation style works for your community. It doesn't work for ours. It's almost as though communities are diverse and have different wants and needs 😲
Our community has no need or want for a PM system, can we get that removed and add it as a marketplace plugin instead? I'm being facetious here, but we see this a lot when people post feature requests - there's a subset of people who essentially wade in and say "I have no need for this in my community so maybe it should be a marketplace add-on". It's not productive and puts people off asking for new features.

Twitter is a prime example of a major service that labels a user banned when they have been banned or suspended. They even notify you if a user you reported has had action taken against their account. While this would be nice to have - all I am requesting is an extra little icon to be added in the same place where there is an icon for moderators, to denote that the person is currently banned/suspended. For some communities they might not necessarily want the icon to say those words and that's fine, allow it to be translated to inactive or something. If you don't want the icon at all, then allow that to be an option too. There's plenty of features that we deactivate in the forum software because our community doesn't want it.
A number of different use cases have been provided for why such a feature would be useful to some communities. It may not be useful to other communities and that's fine. Nobody is forcing you to use it. The good thing about IPB is you can turn off and on features you don't want. As for moderation styles - I didn't realise that using IPB software also required us to subscribe to a certain ideology of community moderation. Maybe users could let other users moderate our communities as we see fit without providing a sermon and then we could have a more productive discussion?

I really like the Fluid view, but it would be great if there was a way to hide the forum selection sidebar once you've made your selections so the other sidebar items aren't pushed down because of it being at the top, or maybe move it to a modal when you activate Fluid view?

Come on guys, Invision is never going to please us all. And even if they adopted granular ACP theme adjustment tools same as Xenforo has, we'd still need to sit back and adjust dozens and dozens of margin, padding, line height and similar parameters to suit all of our individual tastes. And then you have the menu, which in my view should be docked in an object that can be bound to the DOM either on the server or in a CSOM. But, even if Invision did that, we'd still need to position it ourselves, and move it around depending on the app currently in use. So I say, be careful what you wish for as even though I'd like to see pages that are rendered a little more tightly and menus that break from the current paradigm, you can bet if Invision did that, we'd still be back with another set of demands next month.
So how about we get together, put our hands in our pockets and see if we can find a designer come dev to create a configurable theme for us - and I mean a theme, not a (wanit in green, blue, red?) skinning exercise. It could include all sorts of presets including spacing, fonts, menu positions and so on, including specifics for desktop and mobile. Won't be cheap, but at least at the end of it we will have something we can use to give us what we want, rather than assuming Invision can pull a theme styling rabbit out of the hat which is going to miraculously please us all. I just don't see it.
Of course, Invision are more than capable of doing this themselves. But a bit a string only goes so far, and if they do this, then all the other stuff we need like video transcoding (ok I need that 🙂 ) will get pushed to the back of the queue.
So how how about it? Put our energies into something creative?

I recently came to the conclusion that we are too dependent on Youtube and other social networks. At some point, I used Youtube so much that I psychologically stopped noticing other sites. And so, I stopped using Youtube, started running my own website, started writing plugins for the game. But beyond that, I learned about many cool, incredibly useful sites and communities.

IP-Gamers reacted to opentype in What, exactly, are clubs for?
There are various purposes for clubs and differences in comparison with forums. One advantage is that you can let your users create them—which makes it very different from forums you control. If it works out, it can give your site a boost in activity you might not get in forums. You can get club owners who actively start, manage and promote their own clubs and with that, your platform.
Another difference is that clubs need to be joined first, especially closed clubs. So their activity doesn’t disturb the rest of the site. You can have niche topics there or even foreign languages, that the majority of you users don’t care about.
And you can bundle features in clubs. A club doesn’t just have to be more forums. It can also have its own calendar, galleries and so on.
