IP-Gamers got a reaction from tsdevelopment in (itzverified) member verification
Yes everything is correct. I am using the standard filesystem.
{{if $verification->inProgress()}} <div> <img class="ipsImage" src='{file="$verification->photo"}' alt='{$verification->__get( $verification::$databaseColumnMap['title'] )}' itemprop="image"> </div> {{elseif $verification->isVerified()}} The problem is hiding here.

Ah, okay. So you use the local file system to store files or another one? I need as much information as possible to reproduce the issue. Please send me as much information as you can in a private message. Then I will try to find out what's going wrong here.

Hi,
can you please verify that the images can be found on the file system? Maybe it's a permission or upload issue.

I'd like to re-suggest this as its relatively impossible to my knowledge, to target css elements per forum view currently.

IP-Gamers got a reaction from sofos in How to hide Quote button in 4.5?
This code will hide absolutely the entire toolbar in the post, and a person needs to cut out one button.
It is better to cut the code of the "Quote" button from the template of the post on the forum:
<li data-ipsQuote-editor='{$editorName}' data-ipsQuote-target='#comment-{$comment->$idField}' class='ipsJS_show'> <a href='#' data-action='quoteComment' data-ipsQuote-singleQuote>{lang="quote"}</a> </li>

IP-Gamers reacted to Rikki in Need more granularity for notification settings
We investigated this and it turned out to be a bug whereby daily/weekly digests were not disabled when the link was clicked. The fix will be in the next release 🙂

IP-Gamers reacted to Jordan Miller in To add TAG criteria into Create RSS Feed
@Maxxius Got an update for ya.
From what I gather, this is an implementation that should be doable in a future release. I can't make any promises yet, but it does appear to be something that can be done and isn't too resource heavy (yay).
I'll see if I can inspire this to reach our devs for some further feedback and when I hear back I will hit you up. 🙏

IP-Gamers reacted to CoffeeCake in Server Requirement -InnoDB Table - Dynamic
This would change the engine to MyISAM, not InnoDB, and would not address the row format that the message displays. I would not recommend going to MyISAM from InnoDB to make this message go away. You run a much higher risk of data loss and corruption with MyISAM over InnoDB.

IP-Gamers reacted to Davyc in How to hide Quote button in 4.5?
Add this to your custom CSS file:
.cPost .ipsComment_controls { display: none; } That should do what you want 🙂

IP-Gamers reacted to bfarber in Problem with Post Before Registration and streams (bug?)
Sometimes a ticket is the easiest way to diagnose a problem, even if the issue can be duplicated on a fresh install. When you look at the steps necessary to reproduce a problem and it can take an hour to set up your test installation to duplicate the problem, but you already have a live example we can look at, it's often more effective and efficient to look at the live example.
Support is included with your license and we encourage anyone experiencing a problem to make use of our support.

IP-Gamers reacted to Davyc in Rate and/or Review?
Remove the requirement to review when someone just wants to rate. People are more likely to rate if they are not required to review but will not write a review just so they can rate. This is for the pages app - or anywhere else where rating takes place that requires anything other than just giving a rating.
I managed to negate this, but had to jump through hoops to do it, whereas as simple option in the settings would negate the need to do this. My members can now rate without having to review.
With thanks

It would be great if you integrate this feature and doing it modifiable by admins. For example:
* Congratulations, you've wrote your first message/reply
- created your first topic
* ...you've wrote your 10th/50th/100th message
* ...you've your first like
- first liked answer...etc etc etc
and notifiable via forum and/or e-mail...
also visible on profil under like 'User achievement' tab...

IP-Gamers reacted to bfarber in MS IE warning
We support Microsoft Edge, the browser that Microsoft currently supports.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Explorer
Internet Explorer stopped receiving material updates in 2016. It no longer works with Microsoft Teams as of Nov 2020, and will not work with Microsoft 365 as of 2021. In other words, Microsoft doesn't even support this browser for their own major web-based products.
Frankly...we can't move forward with technology if we continue to support the past forever and ever. Specifically in this case, we migrated to using CSS variables which is a major major overhaul of our design system allowing for easier theming, more flexibility, better cohesiveness across the entire site and many more features, but is a feature which Internet Explorer doesn't support (because, again, it hasn't received material updates in 4 years).
We don't support any other browsers released 4+ years ago either for the record.

IP-Gamers reacted to Lindy in Support team issue! the support is missing here!
Hi there. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback and I'm sorry for your disappointing support experience. I've taken the liberty to review your ticket history as well as your community itself. I counted almost 50 third party plugins, 15 third party applications for a total of over 200 "hook" points. That is, by most definitions, a fairly significant amount of modifications. There is nothing inherently wrong with that and we of course welcome and encourage you to personalize and tailor the software to meet your needs, however, it does limit the amount of support we are able to provide.
I often use an automotive analogy... there are some vehicle owners that make a significant amount of customizations to their vehicle. Some, such as cosmetic changes (tinted windows, spoilers, etc.) have no real impact on the integrity or reliability of the vehicle and there are no warranty issues with the dealer. If, however, you add an aftermarket device designed to change the behavioral parameters of the vehicle (eg. an ECM 'tuner', an electronic device that plugs into the ODB port, an aftermarket head unit, etc.) - it is not a realistic expectation for the manufacturer (and dealer) to warrant and support the vehicle unless the concern is directly related to a "stock" defect or root cause.
In the case of your current support request (RSS feeds and image dimensions) - I've looked at the origin feed and the height/width attributes are indeed being sent in the feed itself. Invision Community simply imports what is provided in the feed. You would, as noted in the request, unfortunately need to work with the feed author to remove the hardcoded attributes in the feed.
I wish I had better news for you and I understand how difficult and frustrating it is sitting between developers/manufacturers and third parties/aftermarket, as a consumer.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and I hope your experience improves moving forward.

IP-Gamers reacted to Sonya* in Blog: switch from WordPress to IPS Pages, good idea or not?
You do not need blogs if you would like to have only one blog. IPS Blogs are designed for community members. It's a multi-blog solution. If you need a blog written by community owner only or even a group of approved members than you should stay with Pages. See also IPS community blog https://invisioncommunity.com/news/ that is based on Pages and not Blogs.
Pages is surely not so powerful like WordPress out of the box. Pages are still highly customizable. If you outline what you exactly miss in Pages, then it can be extended. I cannot think of anything that cannot be done with Pages.
IPS will never provide WordPress functionality for the blogs, or Magento/Presta Shop features for Commerce. IPS is for building communities first, not writing blogs and not building powerful shop solutions. On the other side BuddyPress or Magento Forum will never reach out to IPS. They are just not designed to be a strong community software.

IP-Gamers reacted to JohnCourt in Go to First Unread Post
Hello folks, this seems like such a basic function, I am using 4.5.4 and I was wondering is there anything I can do so that when a member clicks on a topic, they are taken to the first unread post since their last visit? Or is there an inline button somewhere that can be added inside of each post perhaps at the bottom of the post reading panel so when it's clicked on it shoots you to the first unread post? Thank you!

IP-Gamers reacted to TSP in Troubleshoot HIGH mysql load? PLEASE HELP
In order to troubleshoot high mysql load I would usually start by running the mysql query "SHOW FULL PROCESSLIST" to see if any/which queries have been running for a very long time.
Without more information it's very difficult to know, but you could test this if you have a very big community that uses reactions and are on version 4.5: disable the new topic list view. I reported a performance issue with this new view yesterday.
You find it in the general forum settings. Deselect the setting "Members can choose" beneath the setting "Default topic list view", make sure you have selected the Condensed topic list View.
Using ACP search to find it: I was unable to search directly for the setting in the admin cp search, but you can search for "view" and then click "[Forums] Default forum view" in the result, it will take you to the same page (but the selected setting is not what you'll change)
