  1. Hi, one of my users is using an iPad and has reported there is no Reply box at the bottom of any threads. I use a custom theme but I switched him to the default theme in case it was a theme issue but he says the problem is still there. If he switches to his phone he is able to reply as the options are there. Is this a known issue or do you have any suggestions? Thanks again, Rob
  2. Hi, We were thinking of using Cloudflare across my website to help with site speed etc. My site has a combination of Wordpress and Invision pages. When we enabled Cloudflare as a test, it worked fine on the Wordpress pages but there were a few quirks on the forum. Users reported that the "user panel" kept showing the names of other users (e.g. Bob Smith could see what appeared to be Jim Brown's profile). I presume this is down to the way Cloudflare caches. Has anyone used Cloudflare on their forum and if so is there some way of having some elements not cached (i.e. the user control panel" but caching other elements? Thanks, Rob
  3. I hope someone can help. Is it possible to get the URL logic to link to the last updated featured thread? I want to use the link on an external, non IPB page so I don't want to use a block, I just wondered if there was URL logic I could use? Many thanks!
  4. I probably didn't explain myself too well.... I can see it myself it's more how I explain it to my audience as "You may see a pop-up" is much more difficult to sell than a "click here to get it" type call to action. My audience is generally on the older side so I was hoping for a simple "Click on this link to get it" but if that's not part of the functionality or possible then so be it. Thanks for the help and advice on this thread though - it is appreciated!
  5. Thanks @Marc Stridgen great minds must think alike 😉 as I've just finished a ticket with my web host and that seems to have sorted a lot of the issues I had (so nothing to do with Invision Community but more to do with my server!). I'm really keen on using the app and I'm aware of a web app's functionality vs a native app. However, during my tests I can't see it appear for me - is there any way to "force" it and/or any way for me to explain to users how to get it. It's just that I get a lot of requests from users for an app and this sounds perfect and it would be great if there's some way I can explain to users how to get it rather than them wait for a browser notification. I appreciate that may simply not be possible but I thought I'd ask! Thanks again!
  6. Hi, Apologies if I don't provide all the details in here (not sure how to include login details for the ACP). 1. I have multiple issues with slow loading etc. I am a football forum so traffic does peak at certain times. I think some may be due to the server but I wondered if it is possible to check my settings in the ACP and see if I am optimised and if anything needs to change to help. I do have a couple of third party apps/plugins, notably Tapatalk and if they are causing any issues I am happy to unpublish them. 2. On that note, I noticed there are settings for an "app" in the ACP. I have added images etc but how would I now publicise this to my audience. If I can use an Invision app then I can definitely get rid of the Tapatalk third party app but I am not sure how to make it visible / tell my users where to get it from. Thanks again for your help and if any of the above is unclear, I am sorry, happy to provide more details if required. Thanks, Rob
  7. Hi Marc, What I was trying to get at is if this is a particular phone/version of Android/Chrome then if users can provide those details would that not help you to set up a phone in the same way and potentially replicate that the issue? I'm presuming that as neither of us can see the issue using Chrome on Android and it seems to affect a small number of users (at least in my forum's case) that there may well be some specific circumstances in which this occur. To use your analogy - would finding out what settings these users use enable you to possibly know how to get the car to make that noise?
  8. Hmm, I can see the issue but as I mentioned I've only got three members out of 5,000-odd who are experiencing it and I'm not one of them. However, the three that are have sent me several screengrabs and report the forum as "unusable" on a phone. I'm not sure how I can replicate it short of borrowing their mobile phones though! Is there any information I can try and get from them to find their specific set-up? They are all on Android and using a Chrome browser - what other information may help? Thanks!
  9. I run a forum with circa 5,000 users and three of them have reported the same issue as above. I can't replicate it myself but the three users have provided screengrabs which match the ones above in this thread. I presume it therefore is a bug but (in my site's experience) only affected a certain number of users. Is there any way of being notified if/when a bug fix is issued for this? Thanks!
  10. Thanks @opentype - that was a super speedy and very helpful response. Much appreciated!!
  11. Hi, I have some advertising code which needs to go in the footer section of my theme. Is there some conditional code which I can surround it with so it only shows to guests. One of the advantages I offer my registered users is less adverts so I only want this advert to show to guests. I was hope there was some code that would be along the lines conditional show if user=guest Advertising code/script end conditional Thanks a lot, Rob
  12. Hi @Jim M thanks so much, I will do. 🙂
  13. Hi @Jim M apologies. I've added the answers in Notes - hope it works for you now. Thanks, Rob
  14. Hi @Marc Stridgen apologies. I've been looking at other site issues and when I checked back in the forum admin area I am getting the "Cache Not Working" error message again. All the login details should work if you are able to take a look and correct/advise. Thanks again!
