  1. Hi, your bookmarks application is very useful.
What is going to be the position with your resources once the marketplace is closed? Any plans?

    Also, here's a feature request.
It would be fantastic if one could set a bookmark – and where is it refers to some date or deadline, that one could trigger a reminder which inserts itself into the Google calendar.

Google calendar rather than the Invision platform calendar.

    Regards

  2. This is a great addition to the platform.

    Thanks.

And now – because no one is ever really satisfied – a couple of feature requests???

Is it possible to make one's bookmarks available only to members of a particular group.
I'm thinking particularly of the site team.
It would be very useful for the site team to make their bookmarks visible to other members of the team – but not to the ordinary users.

    Thanks very much

Also, might it be possible for the site team to have private categories and public categories meaning some categories which can be shared with designated user groups such as other site team members and some categories which are completely private to them alone.

  3. Hi, thanks for this free application.

I suddenly realise I haven't dealt with any of the sharing facilities on our board for a long time. Could you give me a few clues on how to set this up and could you possibly link me to somewhere where I can see how it's displayed please.
    Thanks

No one ever said it was a performance issue:

    Actually they did:

This was a resource intensive function, changing how this worked gave a significant performance improvement for all customers, like a really impactful performance improvement.

  5. Strange because when the numbering system was removed we notice no difference in performance.

Now that we have a little plugin or hack which has restored it, we also notice no difference in performance but a considerable difference in customer satisfaction .

It should be a matter of choice as to whether or not your customers have this kind of facility .

Customers should be able to switch it on or switch it off.

Presumably if it is switched off then you will get all of the performance enhancement which you tell us there is as well as being able to focus on content.

Those of us who want the numbering system can choose to have it and presumably we'll have to put up with the lousy performance and a user interaction which will constantly be distracted by the appearance of small numbers in one corner of each post.

I think some of us can live with that

Please refer back to this post for my answer

(Surely linking to the post is easier than saying "check out my answer on post #34")

When I raised this 2 or 3 years ago, one of the InVision team explained that it was removed so that users could focus more on content than numbers! 🤣

We don't want to be stuck in the past too.

    🤔

  7. For years we have used this fantastic application – Automatic Social Promotion – which apart from anything else can tweet out the title of every new thread which is started on the forum.
It is incredibly useful. We have thousands of Twitter followers including people from the media, activists, some politicians who find it a very easy way to keep an eye on anything which might be relevant to them. It also is very useful for our site team to keep an eye on new topics that crop up which come within their area of knowledge.

It has just stopped working both on our test site and our live site. We have no idea why.
The developer hasn't been around for over a year and 1/2.

I'm wondering if there's anybody around who might like to think about developing a new one. I have several ideas for tweaks and I think it would be a very popular application for forum administrators.

  8. Great application – and thanks for the upgrade.

    As usual: never satisfied!

As you have said somewhere, having dates et cetera as well as the username leads to a very large block of information.

How about configuring a particular display – usernames only – but with a button which is visible only to the site team which would allow date and time information to be displayed as well.
That way, if the site team need to check up on something then the data is there for them – but normally speaking would simply be a list of users.

    🙂

  9. I have checked but the settings allow us to restrict all posting by a new member but does not enable us simply to prevent posting to a profile.

The problem is that when somebody posts to a profile, it is not public and so therefore the moderating team wouldn't necessarily know that it has been done and at the spamming has taken place and this the person who has been spammed reports it.

We only discovered by accident that this was happening. When somebody let us know.

What we need is a setting which allows new members to post publicly if they want to without restriction, but allows us to set a restriction on their ability to post to the profiles of other members

  10. Hi, we have an issue where spanners have managed to get through our filters and then rather than posting on the open forum of managed to post directly to the profiles of existing members.

Is there any setting which would allow us to prevent that please?

Ideally we would like to prevent that kind of post until the new user had chalked up a certain number of posts
