It was a feature in previous IPS Chat version. In the main menu where Chat tab is, there was a number of currently active users in the chat. If there is nobody in the chat, then there is just a "Chat" if there are two users, then the menu tab looks like "Chat (2)". 

No it don't have that, Next update some include some widgets for the chatrooms showing the online user count etc

Wonder if you could theme it to make it look like the old and nostalgic MSN Chat Rooms 🤣

Could it be set up so that two users can chat privately .. like an Instant Messenger?
ex:  USER 1 invites USER 2 to chat
 
 

There used to be a third party addon for this feature I'm about to ask for but I think that IPS should add the option for administrators to restrict PM messages for usergroups until they reach a certain number of posted messages or responses on the forums. Sometimes you run into the problem where someone new to your community will register for an account and instead of posting on the forums, they send a barrage of personal messages to forum staff or the general members in some weird advertising campaign. I actually had this happen before where someone signed up for an account and sent unsolicited PMs to members on my site without posting a single message.
It's a problem that I think I'm not the only one who has experienced this.

Then edit your template and put the button in the header or the user menu.
I actually really like this idea. When our community is done developing our dark theme, I'll look at placing it in a more convenient area instead of in the footer.

YouTube now has "Dark Mode" 
We need something similar .. and to be clear... yes... we could have a separate theme....
But doing a world class job would mean a button that people can toggle like Twitter and YouTube.

I guess one other way is to again use pages, but set it to custom html. This way you could buy a landing page that uses html upload the contents to the server (this is usually the images folder and any other folders that are needed) and copy the index.html code into a pages template.

You could try this using a free template/landing page to see how it works.

If you have the pages app, you could make a basic landing page using widgets? This will show; topics, posts, events, popular topics etc etc, there are also some plugins in the market place you can use.

IPS offers Commerce as an ecommerce solution.  It has several options for admins to manage their inventory, sell, and ship and track.  If you don't have the app yet but would like to explore the Commerce app, you can request a courtesy demo for one free week at a time.  

What would the integration do exactly? Listing products in Commerce but fulfilled elsewhere? Or a product widget? Or what?
I recently started to create Teespring merch for my communties. I just created ads with product shots pointing to my Teespring stores. Not really sure what kind of deeper integration I would need. 
I can’t really see it as core feature. Maybe someone wants to sponsor the development of a connection for one specific provider and put it on the marketplace?
