I am on the Cloud. However, I misunderstood, please ignore.

One of the challenges when managing an online forum is to make sure people get properly notified when their question receives an answer. Too often, notification emails are considered as spam and blocked before the recipient has a chance to see them.
It's frustrating to keep hearing that some members had no idea someone had answered a question they'd posted on my site, which unfortunately happens on a regular basis.
I believe this can be improved upon.
I've experienced two types of issues with invision notification emails.
The notifications emails are sent by my community in the cloud, but they go in the recipient's spam box.  The notifications emails are sent by my community in the cloud, but they are never received by the recipient, not even in their spam box.  In the past I've reported that DMARC wasn't set up properly for invisioncloudcommunity.com - I just checked now, and unfortunately this has not been fixed. Here are the raw headers from an email received from invisioncloudcommunity.com:
    Received: from 10.197.33.205  by atlas207.free.mail.bf1.yahoo.com pod-id NONE with HTTPS; Fri, 15 Mar 2024 12:31:56 +0000 Return-Path: <0100018e4218f711-b5741dc8-0a84-426c-945a-680f23dcb952-000000@amazonses.com> X-Originating-Ip: [54.240.11.73] Received-SPF: pass (domain of amazonses.com designates 54.240.11.73 as permitted sender) Authentication-Results: atlas207.free.mail.bf1.yahoo.com;  dkim=pass header.i=@invisioncloudcommunity.com header.s=2ogrodggx62me37libidezq44j6wnyop;  dkim=pass header.i=@amazonses.com header.s=ug7nbtf4gccmlpwj322ax3p6ow6yfsug;  spf=pass smtp.mailfrom=amazonses.com;  dmarc=unknown header.from=invisioncloudcommunity.com; I've also reported that invisioncloudcommunity.com is blacklisted by multiple servers, and unfortunately that is still the case today (I used https://valli.org/ to test the mail servers):

I am hoping that invision community email deliverability can be improved so that all our members can receive their notification emails as expected.

The problem is that Invisioneer automatically opts you into every single thing possible. The default should be opt-in, not opt-out. Took me a week to unsubscribe from everything.

My site was down for about 30 minutes with all manner of errors, "This Community is Temporarily Unavailable", blank pages, etc.  It's back up now, but I'm getting tired of this.

One thing I am noticing is that not all notifications are displaying, or even notifying me through the notifications alert system.  I have reactions set to be marked by notification and yet a reaction that was just issued does not show up there. However, if I go to my profile, I can see that the reaction was registered there within the Activity tab. The reaction was issued over 15 minutes ago so it shouldn't be a cache issue.

This issue has been resolved in the recently released 4.7.15 version. Please update your site if you are still experiencing the issue, and let us know if you see any reoccurrence.

My Sharona got a reaction from Gill in Cross-posting of Articles into forums as topics, automatically
Google claims to not penalize duplicate content on a site but regardless, it can still hurt your SEO practices. The problem lies in the fact that IPS places a <link rel="canonical" ...../"  /> tag (which directs a search engine that this is the master copy) on both the page and the topic. You can easily see this by viewing the page source of both the page and topic. It should be line 171. You shouldn't have a canonical tag on both pages claiming to be the master.

I have reported this previously but never followed up on it by placing the topic in the Feedback sub.

The Whos Online block has a Filter By function which displays all user groups, primary and secondary.

It would be nice if there was a way to filter who can filter, and what filters they are able to see.

    Thank you for your consideration.

My Sharona got a reaction from Gill in [Suggestion] Events Location Data Field
When you are posting an Event with a physical location and you choose to Specify a location..., unless my understanding is off and I am missing something, on a desktop, the software places the Location data alongside the Event Details within the block.
If you post an Event with a physical location and you choose not to Specify a location..., on a desktop, the software expands the block to fill the entire block. Choosing to not fill out the Specify a location... field will result in Google sending you an Events structured data issues detected notice and potentially penalizes you in an SEO. Hence, it is advisable to fill out the Location data field.

Now, having all that dead space is not a desired look in my opinion and it would be much better to have a larger image/data field be more observable and thus easier on the eyes.

In mobile portrait view, it all displays as it should, the Location data field is placed below Event Details section of the block, so that operates as it should, again, in my opinion. However, in Landscape mode, it displays the same as desktop mode.

I should mention that in this scenario, the software sidebar is enabled.

    Thank you for your consideration.

It would be very nice of Invision Community to share some of those templates with the community.  Would likely provide a nice bump in adoption and usage of great Pages layouts by other community sites. 🙂
Even if it's not plug and play with any Pages DB, it would give a great templating jumpstart to see how a layout like that is created with native templating syntax (i.e. it's not as simple as looking at the page source and grabbing html/css since there is custom logic/parsing/conditionals within the templates).

So this issue was never resolved, and now I noticed that I'm getting the same behavior on this site. I can share a screenshot if that helps (would rather not make it public though).
Clicking the "Read full message" button in the email notification works as expected.

I don't believe you have the capability to turn it off.
Stuart stated that certain parts of the network are still suffering from a DDoS attack, which more than likely are causing the puzzle prompts.

I am getting the prompt repeatedly this morning. Other issues include not being able to edit posts. Today is not a good day for issues, please fix ASAP. Thank you.

    ^^^^
The puzzle prompt that arises will not solve the first time, it has to be loaded a second time no matter what.

I couldn't even edit my post above, here and I tried immediately after posting it.
    ETA: and it merged it...

for clarity... It only merged after posting a new message

I have passed this feedback to our Cloud team, they'll be reviewing and making adjustments as needed. Normal usage shouldn't be causing the puzzles to be prompted, so we'll likely need to make some adjustments.

    Dear All
I haven't looked at updates recently, nor browsed here - I've very much moved away from running a "forum" and now concentrate on running our "community". The result is I am behind what the software actually does, features etc.
Today, a Moderator reported that he was editing a post when he was confronted with a "Human Puzzle", which took three attempts to solve and then when he did solve it, the software didn't take him back to his edited post. I tried and pretty much had the same result.
How do I turn this "feature" (pain in the rear!) OFF?? (I've searched the ACP and done a serach here with no result)
    Many thanks

    Bill
