I can confirm this is a bug. Logging it internally.

You can accomplish this by creating the widget in your ACP -> Pages -> Blocks. There you can modify the block template and enclose the entire thing in an {{if \IPS\Request::i()->id == 2}} or whatever the forum ID is.
You'd then use that custom widget on your page instead of the default topic feed.

I would love to see improvements to the Recent Topics Widget, particularly in Minimal View, to enhance usability and relevance. Specifically, I’d like to request an option for the widget to display the Username and Profile Picture of the most recent poster rather than the original topic creator. Often, the topic starter may have posted years ago and is no longer active, making their details less relevant in the context of recent discussions.
In a previous version, a custom code fix allowed this functionality, but it is no longer compatible with the current version. It would be great if this could be included as a built-in feature.
Additionally, I believe the widget could benefit from more customization options, including:
Displaying the most recent poster’s profile picture and username.
Showing the most recent post time in a "Posted X minutes/hours ago" format instead of the time of the original post.
Preventing multiple entries from the same thread (so only the latest post from each topic appears in the feed).
Displaying the forum section the post came from.
Displaying the amount of posts or replies in that thread.
Ensuring that clicking on a topic takes logged-in users to the first unread post rather than the start of the thread.
I appreciate the various view options currently available, but these changes would greatly improve the widget’s functionality and user experience. If needed, I’d be happy to provide further details or feedback.

I believe you might be referring to @HeadStand's app. I utilized it also. I don't know if she is planning on updating it for v5 or not. Also not sure she uses that account anymore as I think she is using another one these days.

This is good news, what about popular topics? Is that being sorted out because currently trending / popular isn't doing anything worthwhile. The option to have popular topics (measured by posts over a certain time period) again should at least be there

We're going to restore that functionality in 5.0.4.

IPS kinda did that already. The 5.x templates now have a header image (like my templates), category images (which my templates supported) and a navigation widget (like SuperDocs). Of course it’s not identical, but pretty close.

No. I want to build a page full of various blocks from the same database, but those blocks should be able to pick up where the previous block left off.
The reason I want this is so that I can have, for example, the latest 3 articles at the top in a carousel format, then maybe another block of some in a grid, then below that I might want a compact list. Take a look at my front page. I did that with 5 blocks, each with a different layout, all pulling from the same database, and I use the offset plugin I mentioned to increment the articles as the blocks progress. There is an added benefit of being able to insert ads if I want to, but that is almost secondary. I'm trying to build a web-magazine type layout with this.
My current blocks use a modified version of @opentype's SuperBlocks template, but I could come pretty darn close to replicating my V4 front page out of the box in V5 if I had that offset feature. I'm not saying I need my V5 site to be identical to my V4, but this functionality would be game changing for Pages. Offset is something I use all the time on my wordpress sites for this same reason and it would significantly increase the power and flexibility of Pages.
Also, while I have you, a toggle to turn off the block header/name would be welcome too. When building a page like this, we don't need to display the name/title of each block feed. I know you can delete out the text from the title, but the vestigial bar still renders at the top of the block with no text in it.

I'm not sure why the Post Feed widget takes an image from a thread and puts that next to the post. Shouldn't it be the user's avatar?

You can post in the general questions forum any questions you have. In terms of posts needing sensitive information giving, just let us know if thats the case and we can open a ticket if needed, or will request you send a PM, depending on what it is. The test area is for testing only. That said however, if you do post screenshots in the test post and want to link to show us something, I dont think anyone would have an issue with that :)

You would be looking at the ratio there of your image really. If its missing the top/bottom for example, its too height in dimensions.

From just now: Two topics over a year old and in a forum that one can no longer post in, and a topic that was last posted to roughly 19 days ago.


If that is the case, just my opinion but... it is broken displaying results like it currently is. Trending should not mean recently crawled by crawlers/bots.

Does anyone else miss this? It wouldn't be too hard to create a custom template for it.

Light/dark mode can be configured (or even disabled) via the Theme Editor.

There's an open bug report for that
