Thomas Hop got a reaction from Jens DE in Multi language for form select box options
Hello,
I would like to know if my suggestion has any potential of making it to development. I do think it is a must have for a multilingual forum. In any case i hope to see a reply so i can inform my client.
Thanks in advance

Thomas Hop reacted to Luuuk in Can't upload images only as attachments.
Hi,
This is by design and how it should be. You always will see an attached image as "image inside post" without any visual division known from ancient IPB 3.x.
Note also there is a difference in an image position. When you upload an image as attachment and do nothing else the image is always at the bottom. You can see this if your post will contain some text before attaching. Then if you place a cursor in a different position (eg. at the beginning of your post above the potential text) and use the "Insert" option located on the image attachment then the image is placed in that exact position.

Thomas Hop got a reaction from 13. in Multi language for form select box options
Hello,
I am currently missing a feature when creating a field for “Profile Fields” . I would like to display the field in two different languages depending on the selected language.
The form field name has the possibility to display another language but the options of the select box does not. Is there a way to display a different language in the options of the select box when another language is selected?
Example below:
When dutch is selected on our forum:
The Field name = Geslacht
The select box should show options:
- Man
- Vrouw
When english is selected on our forum:
The Field name = Gender
The select box should show the options:
- Male
- Female
I tried to place a language string in the options field but this does not work.
Is there a possibility this can be added in the future?
Thanks in advance,

The "redirect" is controlled by the Core ( \IPS\core\modules\front\system\language::manage() ) and it "reloads" the current page
\IPS\Output::i()->redirect( \IPS\Request::i()->referrer() ?: \IPS\Http\Url::internal( '' ) ); Exactly what happens on my board:

Possible with customisation, yep.
I put a proof of concept together last year for this, actually - following this discussion:
Based on Daniel's final post in there, I decided not to continue with it as a potential MarketPlace resource as I expect it wouldn't be approved.

The content for the activity stream comes from the search index. Does the search return anything?

Until IPS changes how Q&A forums work you can use this plugin in case ordering by votes is not required:

Thomas Hop reacted to Marc Stridgen in Problem with ?do=getNewComment
Hi Thomas. My colleague and I have been looking at the bug report this morning. The issue here is that getnewcomment is not actually used on Q&A type forums. So its actually working as intended. The reason is, they may well be more than one in different places in the topic, as they aren't chronological in order.
My colleague has put forward a suggestion for these for the future, so we can improve this, but at present this is working as intended.

We found the problem, the mysql wasn’t the problem the elastic search server wasn’t able to connect, thank you for the help.

Thomas Hop reacted to CoffeeCake in quick way to list members who...
I don't believe this is accessible in the ACP, yet after making backups of your backups and running this entirely at your own risk, you could use something like the following SQL query to return the results you're looking for:
SELECT substring_index(clm.`login_classname`,'\\', -1) AS LoginMethod ,count(1) AS NumberOfMembersLinked FROM `core_login_links` cll INNER JOIN `core_login_methods` clm ON clm.`login_id` = cll.`token_login_method` WHERE cll.`token_linked` = 1 /* Only those who have successfully linked */ GROUP BY substring_index(clm.`login_classname`,'\\', -1)

Thomas Hop got a reaction from SeNioR- in Tracking SSO registers/logins
Hello,
We recently started using the social login features in our community, however we wondered if there is an option to track the amount of people who have registered using this?
Maybe this is something that can be added in future?
Kind Regards,
Thomas

Thomas Hop reacted to teraßyte in Sort by date as default
@Thomas Hop If you're interested I have submitted to the marketplace a plugin that changes the default sorting for Questions-type forums. Just waiting for IPS to approve it:
(The plugin is already available on my site too, but you won't get the automatic marketplace updates with it.)

Thomas Hop reacted to Marc Stridgen in Sort by date as default
This has been the case for a long time when using a Q&A forum, as this is the intention of that forum type. It may be here that you are better to use a normal forum, and use "mark as solved" as an option for people to mark those. There is no way in which to change the order while retaining the Q&A forum.

Thank you. I can confirm this as a bug and have submitted a fix for inclusion in a future release.
