annadaa got a reaction from SC36DC in 4.5: Introducing our updated default theme
I find that there is no sense to cut the image (avatar) by highlighting the member's badge icon. Why is that?
The badge is additional practical but not essential information on the identity of the member. The member defines himself and is quickly recognized above all by his image and not his badge.
Thank you for this gamification option by the very practical badge, but see the place rather than cutting the image in half!
We say in the comment that there is plenty of white space, you have enough space then I think.
I think on the signature side, it would be very good.

I was hoping for subscription enhancements and Amazon SES API support. Glad to see upload chunking with S3 which will be helpful with the downloads app. Performance improvements are always good!

I must say that it is a very nice improvement.
and especially what is respected is that one does not feel lost on the site after such an update.
it sometimes happens that we are used to the theme of a site, and when it gets a facelift, we are lost and would have preferred to stay on the old version. here you have succeeded.

thank you for all this work. It's very good I find that IPS is really starting to be adapted to the level of needs as ease of navigation today.
I am far from being a designer but wonder if I should continue to write on the images directly in this way because I know that it is not too pleasant and a little difficult to read depending on the background colors.
Why not write below the image or use tools to better see ...
We could put an icon post and next to a number, an icon follower and next to a number, to avoid writing overload as much as possible

this is a design example that has nothing to do with IPS, and that I just took as an example from the web
What is interesting is to see that the text is very visible on the image using certain tools.
But as soon as the important title has been placed on the image and not on the image.
I would not even be surprised that today the users do not read the white texts on the images because the pages are scanned visually and it is not seen then.

I like this idea a lot, I've been looking to do something like myself. Dave has done something similar on his StarTrekGate site.
Could this be an option? I would like to upload a picture with text already on it and have the info below (as seen above).

We own a visual effects business and text on image is a bit of a nightmare, which is why most titles in broadcast will have either a solid background, or be formatted in some way, such as a 'lower third', or similar.
But on the whole, this is a great improvement, and presumably allows us to easily format text and container with CSS.

thanks for this useful option
without asking too much, is it possible to add a button to the first message "I have the same question" or so I also want to know the answer

annadaa reacted to Ryan Ashbrook in 4.5: Marking as solved
You can actually already do this using the Reactions system. It won't be specific to the first post, but I can see how that would be useful on some sites even for regular posts within a topic. 🙂

I think we’re headed for a intelligant home page
A different home page according to each member and offering content adapted according to the member.
No more menu bar with tens of tabs, everything is in front of him without having to browse ...
If only ))

annadaa got a reaction from Matt in Rewards & Reinforcement: Delivering Member Greatness in Online Communities
thanks for the article. it is not long but contains the essential thing to know, thus avoiding long readings on how to succeed in one's community.
I will therefore grant more rights on the Group Status and Rewards especially that I had in addition deleted "leaderbord" of my menu to lighten it but I will quickly put it back))
I have also already read that also in language teaching for example, students need bonuses to stay motivated.
