Edit: also you did not even bother to reply if this is compatible with 4.7.1 , the last time you updated it was 2 years ago (hence my question about the price, also 'cause it was at 10$ few weeks ago if I'm not wrong)

@Adriano Faria is this compatible with 4.7.1 ? also aren't 12$ kinda lot for this plugin ? 😛

@Jim M there is something wrong, I did not select your post as the solution to my question, however it was automatically selected. To be honest @Adriano Faria 's solution is what I actually was looking for.

Also this happened to another topic where I shared the solution for the gmail issue that somebody experienced with, but your post was selected again:

yes everyone to be able to see the topics but only the topic starters to reply in them. 

it was requested by 1 of my members for the media section that we have, where people share their own photos/videos and they don't want their topics to be flooded with other members' posts.

That's correct, the reason is the one @Szelcu mentioned.

You can easily fix this by:

1. activating the gmail 2 factor authentication
2. set up an app password
3. switch the password you use in your forums' email settings with the 16-digit (app) one.

A test mail will be sent to you as usual after applying changes... it prolly gonna take several minutes though so just be patient.
