  1. Hi, I've just seen when you upload one or more images into an empty gallery (maybe into a full one too), once the upload is finished you get back to your gallery but you don't see a single image you've just uploaded ! You need to wait a few minutes until the cache is refresh then you see your pictures... That could be a bit disturbing for users who do not know what a "cached interface" could mean... Thankyou for your attention, D
  2. That's a good intention from you. Anyway, it seems there is no better method of translating than going blind then test and see what happens with the users...
  3. by the way, I've seen there are "only" ~125 new strings with the last version (only between 4.6.7 and 4.6.8)... I think this really needs attention for a good future of Invision Community...
  4. Thankyou for your comment @Darth Vortex, I've taken a look at your article (automatically translated by google 😅) and regarding what you say in it I've already translated applications through the Invision translation interface. For "little translations" (such as a single application) it does the job. But I'm translating the full community from scratch, so the ~20'000+ strings. That makes a lots of strings I've no idea how they're used in the interface... For example, I've just finished the calendar app, but after that I've taken a quick look on "how it looks", and there were a lot of fixes to do in order to keep consistency and make the words enter in the places they should... The fact I don't have the context where the strings are used makes translation very random... And it is not easy to make all use-cases run in order to check for all the strings possibilities... The problem is the same if you made a translation just from the front-end : you'll not access to all the strings that are needed to manage all possible cases. (I'm working on it since 4 days and I've not yet accomplished even 10% of the total strings translations !) For the moment my best choice is to make a full translation and set it in our community at first time to make users test it and "see what happens"... But that's still an empiric (so a random) way of testing...
  5. Hi guys, did you ever found a better way to translate your communities since then ? @Axel Wers, @Enkidu ?
  6. ok, thankyou you're certainly right... I've already translated other CMS with english as base language, but I've never seen so much repeated terms among the strings... Maybe because they were less rich than Invision's Community (?) I've never seen neither so much "diversity" on string names associated to a same module/application : usually you use the same prefix to avoid misunderstandings. Another "thing" I'm beginning to discover is some - little - inconsistencies like sometimes it is a "user" and others it is a "member". Maybe user refers to "any user, including guests" and member only to registered users (?) It is hard to see where the strings are used to understand how they need to be translated... Unless I'm maybe missing some "special development mode" making translation more contextual-visible (?)
  7. I see the single "IP Address" text at least 20 times (without counting text containing "IP Address")... I wonder in how many distinct ways "IP Address" could be written in foreign languages and foreign grammar syntaxes... 🤔 (translation at 8.4%)
  8. Hi Matt, thankyou for your answer. You're maybe right, I don't know about Korean neither Chinese, or some other languages with a syntax very far from ou western languages, but even for french or spanish some strings are already hard to translate (unable to change the order of the dynamic parameters "%s : %s", there is not always a number to set them in the right place : I need to turn out the sentence in a "passive mode" with much more words, but it is not always possible neither), so allow me to keep a doubt on the good willing of that reasoning...
  9. so "warn_cheeve_point_reduction" needs abbreviation but "__defart_content_record_comments_title_plural" doesn't ? 🤔 Regarding the "use-cases", sorry and with all due respect, but for months or week days I don't get the point (?), and why so much distinct use-cases when in the end the string and the output are exactly the same ? even translated ? this is not the definition of a distinct use-case I know... I'm also a developper, more on embedded systems, and we need to manage stringchains too, more in order to reduce memory space (so the purpose is to avoid duplicated stringchains). We always have core stringchains that could be used by any module/app so it does not need to duplicate it (!!!) And here I see something that I can call a waste of time, readability and energy as well for us than for you : how do you find what you need in those near to 20'000 stringchains ??? Or you simply create a new one each time you need instead of search if it already exist ?? I'm a bit confused...
  10. OK, I've already started to translate the mods I have. I'm a bit surprised by the strings and stringnames I see... for example regarding achievements part, most of the strings are prefixed achievements___something, that sounds good ; but for some there is "cheev__something" or even "cheeve__something", this does not look serious - at all - to me... And, but, woooh, but.. why ? Yes, why there are 5-10 strings with the exact same definition (regarding months or week days for example), even in the same application (!!??). Anyway... I'm currently at ~4,3% translated strings...
  11. great ! it seems to match my needs, I'll give it a try ! thank-you !
  12. Thankyou for your answer @Sonya*. It will be admin-driven and I already have pages. So the next question will be : how ?
  13. Hi, I don't have the blog feature, but I'm willing to integrate a blog into our community (so maybe I'll purchase it). The original blog articles are quite long and organized in chapters/sections for a easiest understanding and navigation. In the Invision Community blog feature is it possible to create such blogs ? maybe throug an add-on ? (in WordPress for example you need an add on but it is possible). Here is an example of a - big - article/tutorial of the blog I want to migrate into invision's blog, you can see in the top right of the navigation bar the chapters organization and levels : https://www.diegoyourself.com/index.php?article=mecanique_carbu_solex32dis Thankyou for your answers and suggestions, D
  14. ok ok ok, sorry for asking. I didn't know it was so sensitive...
  15. 😞 sorry to read that... but thankyou for the answer
  16. Hi, Maybe I've posted in the wrong section, so I try here : I want to produce (and sell in the Marketplace) my own french translation, but in my current licence I don't own all the options (missing downloads & blogs). Is it possible to get only a "strings" file to make a translation without having to buy all the licence options ? Thankyou, D

  18. Hi, When a user is banned (spammer) or placed in a group where achievements are disabled, their recent achievements are still displayed in the "Recent achievements" widget list... Regards, D
  19. Thankyou ! I've never knew (until today) what it means by "restrict" (what kind of restriction).
  20. Thankyou very much ! By the way, what does "Restrict from posting" to the user ?
  21. Hi, Maybe it was just some other user's suggestion, but I though it was possible to moderate all publications from a single user. If it is possible (otherwise than through a warning) I can't manage to find out where... I need that functionality for potential spammers suspected profiles, just to see what happens before letting them post as much as they want anywhere...
  22. I'm maybe wrong, it seems not to be in the user's notification but in the administrator's notification, in the e-mail template there is this line : {$email->language->addToStack( "email_transaction_" . $notification->extra, FALSE )} It seems to add "wait" instead of "waiting" or the problem is the email_transaction_wait string is not defined (?)
  23. Hi, I've already notified that bug : the problem is the referenced string by the e-mail template email_transaction_wait does not exist, the current right string is email_transaction_waiting.
  24. I refer to the notification telling a payment is being held. Thankyou
  25. Hi, I've already reported that bug, but it seems not yet solved : the e-mail notifying a transaction is awaiting validation (commerce) does not seem to refer to the right string. The content message is only "email_transaction_wait" instead of the corresponding string content. Please, this affects customers relations because it appears like "bugged" and does not inspires confidence... Thankyou
