I was thinking about using the Invision Community platform, but after that update, the credit card even shook inside the wallet. 😁
I understand that the user will earn points, but will a shop be implemented to spend the existing points for benefits? Example, changing the username.

Adding an new entry under Applications for "Achievements" would provide consistency and allow a member to toggle between "Disabled" and "Enabled".  Disabled should be the default setting to allow an admin to decide when they are ready to implement Achievements for their site.  Many site owners will choose to spend months planning, waiting on graphic designers to create a personalized set of badges or wait for Achievements to mature to a point that it fully meets their needs. 

Could you also re-design the gallery app to look modern and in time with this era..
I like that IPS is now focusing on modernising the look and feel of the suite to compete with what's already out there.
Please modernise the gallery app to look clean, professional and trendy with full exif support.

Hello I have a question. It will be possible to provide push notifications for new articles on the portal in the pages application? And will these notifications then be displayed on the phone with a thumbnail of the article-photo?
And , we will be able to ask users if they want to receive notifications about new articles?

I was thinking how and where do I store member's badge for my still in progress poker game, I guess I know now!
So many possibilities to award member with badge earned to show off advancement by designing game rules to obtain them besides getting the ones from forum legacy.
My work in progress of achievement in pic shows earning a nice Third of a Kind badge, I can't wait to call REST API to persist achievements!  
Kudos to the team to make this happen.

I agree with what many people here are asking for. I would really appreciate a way to surface what badges exist, how they are earned, and some explanation of the ranks and points system. I totally understand the sentiment of not wanting to surface this info but I think it needs to be an option.

At the moment we are trying to find the line between people getting crazy competitive and also illustrating what badges earn what. 😸

Where do we see what can be earned? Or what the badges mean? There’s no descriptions.
A really good example of a achievements system is on HotUKDeals, you can see the list of badges/awards that can be earned. I know Matt has said he doesn’t want to make it a game. But users seeing what they can earn is an incentive. But you can have stricter rules and not just have people randomly post.

So I just recaived a badge here, and in my profle I can see this: "47 points until your next rank" and I will be not able to know how many points do I have in total and how i earned it? It is confusing (I am talking about my opinion as user of this forum). I am thinking (as a user) that there should be place wher I can click to check my history, my "future" ranks etc.

I know I've gone on about this before, but: are there any plans for a more standalone Points system which isn't specifically tied into community participation, i.e., blocks of Points/hours/tokens which can be purchased in the Store for various services which may or may not be directly linked to the website?
I'd also like to know: what is the messaging interface with all of this?  That is, is there (or will there be) the opportunity to set up email schemes where members are automatically emailed to notify them they have X amount of points, they've earned X Badge or whatnot?  That would be a(nother) major selling point IMHO.  But I get it if that's down the track....you can only do so much at a time, and this looks great! 😀
EDIT: right after posting this I got an in-site notification that I received a Poster's Badge or something like that!  😄 Very cool...but does this sort of thing extend to email?

Looks great, hopefully someone can find a way to tie this into subscriptions with group promotion.  Something like keeping your subscription/group level based on hitting an achievement over a set amount of time, or something like that. A member answers "x" amount of posts over "x" amount of time, they get to keep their group setting or subscription for free. Just brainstorming...lol

Age of account and birthday rules for points would be very welcome as well as an option to give long time members some bonus for being active.

Can there please, please, please be a page like the leader board that can show of who has the most points (user and groups) and be highlighted. Can you please, please, please also set time limits! To be able to reset the points once a year, or monthly, etc. I love this whole concept and you’re on to a winner!

Earning points is cool, but the only thing a member can earn is "Badges"?

Members Shop is the perfect gamification plugin, because it offers 'abilities' to the members, ways to spend their points. 

-Pin a Topic (For set amount of days)
-Change Member Title
-"Purchase" an item in the Downloads section with points
- So much more.


In my Downloads, I have made custom desktop and mobile wallpapers that can be purchased with points. I also offer custom made profile photos, cover photos and signature banners. I plan on offering more soon.

This has been working out great on my forum. People love earning enough points to collect them all. Thank god that @Adriano Faria has taken over Members Shop. Hopefully it will continue to grow. If there was a way to use the Points earned from the IPS Achievements, but then use them with the features Members Shop has to offer, this would be a great method of utilizing both systems.
