    In your opinion
Sorry Matt but i have to disagree,  Once again a feature has been removed because you thought it wasn't useful or seams to read tat way.
My members like to see the number of views on a topics and so do sponsors, its getting a little tiresome where i have to find a why of putting feature back or hope a developers has the time to create a plugin.

Because popular days is what posters and readers really wanted to know about a post and definitely not the # of views it has had. Plus, where could they even have fitted that enormous info?

    "Accommodate everyone"'s requests?
So you would have us believe that the majority of Invision users decided that the "Day a certain post was popular" was MORE USEFUL than "Total # of views" on a new TOPIC SUMMARY feature they rolled out with fanfare?
    Why do I doubt that?
And you support this view by posting and example of a user asking for each post to be numbered? (which is obviously unique request)

At this point no admin / user should ask for ANYTHING because the answer could always be: "We can't accomodate everyone's requests" .....
"Umm .... sorry sir but italics aren't used by everyone..... you'll need a dev to enable that"

Agreed. I will call ALL the major social media and forums and let them know that this thing called "# of views" is useless and they should consider removing it from their platforms.
We all really wanted to know what day a certain topic was popular.

Sorry Matt, but I've seen quite a few instances now where you have tended simply to pronounce that you don't think that something is useful or that it has an undesirable effect and that seems to be the justification removing certain features to the extent of depriving your customers of – Choice

We've been down this road before and you know what I'm talking about.

I don't see what is wrong with providing – Choice – and allowing your customers to decide how they want to run their own forums.

TheWorldNewsMedia.org reacted to Interferon in Blogs and blog entries without images look very ugly
My users almost never add blog or blog entry images when they write articles. Without background images, the default theming for these is really ugly, to the point where I am considering removing this functionality from our site.
It's very obvious looking at the official IPS blog, they put a lot of time into selecting blog entry photos from a common source of stock photos with a certain consistency in the theme. That's cool, but the current design of the blog system creates a big burden to select good images that look consistent. It's more suited to an official company blog than to a site with user-generated content where people sloppily post whatever comes to mind.
Any time you allow users to customize the appearance of anything, they will f*ck it up. Think about those awful custom profiles from MySpace.

I don’t run ads, but if understand the issue correctly, the current app doesn’t properly distinguish between mobile and desktop/laptop. Apparently this is a terms of service issue for Google. As they have different rates and ads for desktop and mobile.
i could be mistaken though. Someone more abreast of the issue could probably tell you more.

TheWorldNewsMedia.org reacted to bfarber in Expanded "ignore user" features
It is entirely possible, for what it's worth, to modify your skin template so that if the user has ignored the poster the post doesn't show up at all. Granted, it could make for some confusion (i.e. post #1, post #2, post #4) but that would only be a minor thing.

10 years later, and here we are - NOTHING.
it’s pretty obvious that Invision developers and product managers, simply said, just don’t care about providing an effective and functional ignore function. This is most likely the case because none of them run their own forums, and thus (as usual) don’t actually have any clue as to what functionality is useful for a forum.
There is a plug-in from Adriano Faria (thank you @Adriano Faria), “Disallow Ignored Members From Replying in My Topics” which does a great job allowing forum members to keep their threads clean of members they ignore - though the ignored members still see the topic, they can not reply or post in it. This is a great start.
I guess the only way to get a proper reciprocal ignore feature is to commission a developer to create it - I’ve asked around, and quoted prices range anywhere from a couple of $100 to nearly $1,500. Might be worth it, seeing as how this will never happen from Invision.

    Hi all,

Is it possible to monetise these apps with things like adsense?

    I use Google adsense
Using GA in android app is policy violation
I recommend an option setting option to disale or not to disable advertisement code block  in app as a user choice
I added my community and it was showing ads in it
    I did post earlier discussion

It's not compatible with 4.5 in its current state (compatibility for the plugin doesn't indicate 4.5 as supported)
Yes, it will be upgraded to support 4.5 now that 4.5 has been released - probably looking at releasing the new application version sometime next week.

the first thing he did was get rid of 95% of their product lineup.

My point being that IF lots of plugins etc... are inhibiting real progress..... guess what painful thing HAS to be done?
@breatheheavy  This doesn't have to be rocket science.... a PWA could handle most of these websites as just a framework.

The current push toward native apps 7+ years too late is just a distraction.
That would be like Intel deciding it's going to go into the spinning HDD business in 2020.

    This is 2020.
The app argument was settled years ago.
Good luck getting any market penetration now.

The truly funny part is Invision now insisting on the old native apps rather than the future PWA's.... SMH.
Good thing I don't use Invision to run a real business. Hobby is about where it will always stay.

That would be similar to Sears saying right now: "We've decided to try selling stuff online like Amazon instead of through our Catalog"
