I don't know... Facebook is one of the most used websites in the world and is also one of the most cluttered websites in the world when it comes to links and features which are added to almost weekly it seems, yet people seem to manage just fine.
I think you can have a lot of things if you do so in a way that doesn't make it frustrating trying to find something.

The law is mainly targeting sites such as Twitch, DLive, Facebook Gaming, etc. The streaming services where people stream copyrighted content such as video games. Game publishers don't mind but they suggest muting the sound to avoid any copyright issues regarding the music from the games as some music in games is copyright a music company that could come after you for criminal charges for copyright infringement. This is more of a scare tactic against big time streamers and I see this law getting revoked once Biden is in office. I'm a streamer myself and this doesn't scare me as I always have copyright free music playing in my background instead of game sounds. Copyright free music is provided by a YouTuber that saw this coming and decided to provide streamers with free music to use on their stream copyright free.

I think users go by views...  Are they imperfect. Yes.
But in comparison to "Day it was most popular"..... it's a no brainer. What motivates a user to post? To be seen.... what metric is "closest" to that motivation? # of views.

Is Google Analytics better.... sure. I trust their numbers more. Can I share those numbers to motivate users on a per topic basis? Not that I know of.
So I'll take what I can get.

Not useful... but motivational.... to users
I could have a very well punctuated, grammatically correct, and informational post about bean seeds in China that could be useful to 10 agricultural people in Kansas.
Or I could make $10,000 on one post that some horny teenager posts of Kim Kardashian's derrière.
I honestly forgot the point I was trying to make with this post.... but I'm sure it's relevant.... somewhere.

    In your opinion
Sorry Matt but i have to disagree,  Once again a feature has been removed because you thought it wasn't useful or seams to read tat way.
My members like to see the number of views on a topics and so do sponsors, its getting a little tiresome where i have to find a why of putting feature back or hope a developers has the time to create a plugin.

Because popular days is what posters and readers really wanted to know about a post and definitely not the # of views it has had. Plus, where could they even have fitted that enormous info?

    "Accommodate everyone"'s requests?
So you would have us believe that the majority of Invision users decided that the "Day a certain post was popular" was MORE USEFUL than "Total # of views" on a new TOPIC SUMMARY feature they rolled out with fanfare?
    Why do I doubt that?
And you support this view by posting and example of a user asking for each post to be numbered? (which is obviously unique request)

At this point no admin / user should ask for ANYTHING because the answer could always be: "We can't accomodate everyone's requests" .....
"Umm .... sorry sir but italics aren't used by everyone..... you'll need a dev to enable that"

Agreed. I will call ALL the major social media and forums and let them know that this thing called "# of views" is useless and they should consider removing it from their platforms.
We all really wanted to know what day a certain topic was popular.

Sorry Matt, but I've seen quite a few instances now where you have tended simply to pronounce that you don't think that something is useful or that it has an undesirable effect and that seems to be the justification removing certain features to the extent of depriving your customers of – Choice

We've been down this road before and you know what I'm talking about.

I don't see what is wrong with providing – Choice – and allowing your customers to decide how they want to run their own forums.
