BomAle reacted to SC36DC in 4.5: Introducing our updated default theme
Great work as always IPS. Love the focus on mobile, this is very important, as more and more people are visiting our forums on mobile these days.
--------------------------------
This stands out to me: Is it possible to have the Follow text centered, even if the following count was in the thousands, there should still be enough room to keep the Follow text centered.
I was going to say also isn't possible to put the < Go To Topic Listing and the Next unread topic > on the same line? But would there be a circumstance where there would be more words for either, which I would then see how they both couldn't fit on the same line.

Too much empty space. It looks like an abstract Dribbble-layout for a portfolio, not for real use.

I love the new look; overall changes.
Hopefully, overall DOM size has been reduced.
Have you guys tested and compared speed improvements between 4.xxx and 4.5? Mobile? Desktop?
Mobile should be just as fast as desktop (or close to it). I believe Google PageSpeed/Lighthouse default tests speed are Fast 3G/Slow 4G.
That's definitely not the case with the current Forums site. HUGE difference.
Yes, we all know that it's not the same as the default platform or how each site will run. But, it is the first thing that potential customers will experience/test.
I'll attach screenshots of the CURRENT speed per Google PageSpeed ... and when IPS converts site to 4.5 I'll share those screenshots as well.
Personally, I just want to see before/after results. 🙂

Good spot - that happens because on the invisible widget container above the main content. We’ll figure out a solution 🤞

This all looks amazing and so much neater, but there is one thing that really bugs me a lot - it's probably the designer in me - is the inconsistency of the side bar top alignment; see below:
The gap between the top of the sidebar and the topic header.
Yet here it is aligned perfectly:
I presume there is a reason for this, or is it an oversight?
I don't mean to be picky as you've done a fantastic job on the update, but this one little niggle is a bug for me lol

There’s something in the pipeline for this.. 😉
I can’t promise that it will be interesting for everybody, but there were some huge improvements in the background which should make it easier.

BomAle reacted to 13. in Highlighting staff posts to improve communication
I don't like current behaviour of highlighting because it works for every posts, does not matter if this post important or not (i.e. "official staff answer" or "staff member's comment on kittens photo"). I'd prefer to have an option below editor. Posted this also as suggestion in feedback and ideas section. Please support(reaction/comment - any activity) this topic if you need it too.

Can anyone answer if permissions can be applied to the categories? Would still like to know this.

BomAle reacted to GTServices in 4.5: Page Builder Widgets
This will truly be helpful for those who love to customize their pages. Very helpful.
Thank you.
Can I request that TAGS get added as a widget for use on Pages (not just database but standalone pages)? More info here...

I think it is a waste of your resources for v5... but good to see you have taken this direction... I hope you consider a editor that is like Gutenberg into wordpress (it include tinycme editor and inline option and MORE support old bbcode into new blocks)

Nice video, nice feature! This is a really good start towards bringing Pages into the inevitable realms of being a proper Divi style page/site builder!
It would be really nice to extend this functionality to members who are Blog owners, enabling them to be able to add some much needed personalisation and individuality to their IPS Community Blogs.

Any way to create a menu to go in the side of these pages. I have alot of pages but its hard to navigate through them without going to the main menu dropdown. This is ok on desktop but on mobile its not user friendly

That's fantastic. Only wish there was a way to do edits to settings and have some live preview with out having to go all the way out all the way back in each time.
Perhaps some button that will take you back into to the last used block setting.

Has @Lindy's mind been blown by any of these changes?

BomAle reacted to bfarber in 4.5: User Interface Improvements
It wouldn't be hard to extend it to code blocks, but it should be noted that clients have requested doing this for quotes quite a bit, but I can't recall seeing any suggestions requesting we add this to code blocks. This is why we strongly encourage clients to post in our feedback area so we can gauge which features our community are most interested in.
(We take in input from other sources as well, just to be clear)

This updates can help Administrators to make its communities alive and protected from prohibited content:
Allow Administrator to change the topicstarter. Options to ban members to change topic title and firts message separately. Setup permissions for members group that way, so the members of "one group" could see each other content, but other groups can't see "one group" content. Like parallel world in the same community. If Reply to this status... in All Activity feed, then updated status goes UP on the feed. Notifications about someone's replied to any Status Updates. Delete Digg and Delicious from Share on. Change for WhatsApp, Telegram, WeChat, Instagram. Add the setup option for it in the AdminCP. Word Filters for Status Updates replies. Word Filters for About Me in Profile. Display Pinned topics and Recommended posts in All Activity feed. If Added new word to filter, all the filtered content must be updated regarding Action to take. Built-in translator for messages in other languages. Quote Collapse. -

There isn't anything further to report on the suggestion at this time, no. Presently when the password is cleared out that's it, we have no record of what the previous password value was. We can take your suggestion into consideration for a future release.

Will this allow the member to use the same password as they had before? Kind of defeats the purpose if they can.

The question should be...
Who isn't looking forward to Invision Community 4.5? Let us know below!
I'm pretty sure each and every person is salivating at all the exciting new features, implementations and changes coming with 4.5

BomAle reacted to Dean_ in 4.5: Zapier Brings Integration with Over 2,000 Web Apps
So even more money to spend?
Why isn't such a feature inbuilt with having automated tasks, if someone can make an app like rules automated why can't you? I don't understand why this needs to be outsourced, I get for things like mailchimp and the like but other inbuilt actions.
Absolutely no benefit to the average user/community. I wish you'd take on more ideas to what people are asking for and expanding on it. We had a previous discussion on this on a topic about not seeing features that people have been asking for years with the usual outcome of 'we can't see it being popular', yet we see new features/addons like this?
Sorry for being negative, but feedback is feedback. (Sorry if I've completely missed the point in this app)
