It's Full HD. The main content is marked in green. More than half of the screen at the top is occupied by secondary useless information.

And if we use a logo with a large header, then the main content will generally be at the very bottom of the page.

So standard installs of a forum only are not considered core business?
Sorry but this isn't open source software, we have paid subscriptions, and having already been told by Invision they don't want to discuss it, and seeing people being asked to dial down "criticism" here only makes customers feel unloved. Maybe developers don't want to put as much weight behind design issues as they do functionality but seeing so much white space looks very amateur. Not forgetting a topic list relegated down near the fold is going to impact engagement.
And if we are talking components (to cover multiple scenarios) then why can't we switch this section off?
I hope you can appreciate that members posting here probably represent multiple installs, and have to explain this to their clients too. If you can't handle the negative feedback from us then try dealing with it when it comes from the front line.
This isn't a political hot potato... just a straightforward design issue arising from an update... it can be fixed if someone is prepared to listen.

Try template forums -> topics -> post and insert
    {{if $comment->canEdit()}} {{if $comment->mapped('first') and $comment->item()->canEdit()}} <li class='ipsButton_verySmall'><a href='{$comment->item()->url()->setQueryString( 'do', 'edit' )}'>{lang="edit"}</a></li> {{else}} <li class='ipsButton_verySmall'><a href='{$comment->url('edit')}' data-action='editComment'>{lang="edit"}</a></li> {{endif}} {{endif}} before this

Click on the pencil icon first to activate custom permission. After that, the permission settings will appear in that drop-down menu.

LoPoSt reacted to BankFodder in Why aren't posts numbered within a thread?
We've been operating forum software for 15 years with post counts and we don't have any problem and most importantly our users like it.

There are only about 10 or 15 members of the site team – whereas there are getting on for half a million ordinary members. Because of this, I don't find that the argument that the numbers reviewed by moderators are different from the numbers reviewed by the half a million members to be at all compelling.

We prioritise the interests of our users and as I say, we've never had a problem. Most other platforms have post numbers. We've used post numbers with Invision now using a plug-in which unfortunately doesn't work any more with the latest version of Invision.

I don't see what is wrong with choice. Invision is a pretty good platform and well supported but one thing I find quite unpleasant about it is that the Invision team seem to consider that they should make choices for us and deprive us of choice.

We are all adults – I don't have an option to use post numbers which I can either switch off or switch on. It's also not beyond the wit of someone with the right technical ability to have the member Post number in the corner and then to the left of it in a slightly different colour moderator post number.

Problem solved. People don't like it can switch it off. People who like it can switch it on.

Problem solved – what's not to like?

Can you please add a 'lang' parameter to the Pixabay API request? And add it as class property, so we can overwrite it using hook.

Please add the ability to add a poll to a pages record or by itself as a record. I run a news site, forums are not part of a local news site in general, but the ability to add a poll would be fantastic. Since the software is sold now by app basis, pages would be deserving of this ability imo.
    Thank You

I'm running Invision version 4.4.9.1 and I'm having an issue (in Snow version 1.3.2) where the snow doesn't stop at the bottom of the page. It continues falling forever and causes the browser window (Chrome) to infinitely extend downwards to accommodate the flakes. This happens on the default theme. Snow version 1.3.1 works fine.
