Hey @Kirill Gromov, thanks for this addition. Is there any way to showcase the most recently submitted ideas for better visibility? Perhaps a sidebar widget would help?

@Michael.J Could you add 'groups' to the top point's widget, or have a separate one. I need a way to see how many points each group has so I can sort out prizes for the group the works at earning the most points.
A global stats page would be even better that one can view on the front end or in ACP.
Also, I need a way to disable points for certain groups, one being the admins/staff. Having an option in ACP to disable/select would be desirable.

Please, please, please! I've been asking for a good couple of years now! 🥰

Shiyo reacted to Lindy in Marketplace
The Marketplace is a service. While you are of course acquiring third party resources, you are not obtaining them directly from third party authors and it is really no different than other app stores. Your transaction is conducted through IPS and the Marketplace is a remote service. The point here is just to dispel the silly notion that we're in "breach of contract." The EULA makes clear the fact that a renewal is required for all updates, services, etc.
To provide further clarification, an expired license does not shut off the software and you may continue its use in an "as-is" state (at time of expiration), but it does effectively render both the license and status as a customer as inactive. It is no secret that our company is based on the recurring investment model, so while we don't want anyone to feel held hostage to renewals and we try to reasonably accommodate all customers past and present, our decisions and prioritization of goals will ultimately be in the interest of those continuing along side of us, sharing our overall vision.
With all of that said, this topic has been discussed several times and ultimately, the Marketplace was moved to the AdminCP for what I hope are obvious reasons. A significantly improved and smooth experience for the majority of customers who want a point-and-click experience, consistent with most non-classic "forum" platforms. We want to take every reasonable measure possible to ensure that when you click to install something from the Marketplace, it will be a successful and safe experience for you. We've tightened the framework around that to ensure you're notified with seamless updates from authors and anything installed through the Marketplace framework has been reasonably reviewed by us. We made the decision to disallow manual downloads from the Marketplace as it is entirely counterproductive to the goal we set out to achieve in the first place.
I want to stress that you are welcome to contact an author for manual file provisions if you would like and we do not prohibit them from providing it. You may also purchase from some authors directly if you wish. The only caveat for both cases is, you would use the manual (old) framework to install and update these resources manually. A warning will also be generated because these are untested files - similar to Mac and Windows. Beyond that, we're not standing in your way of using the "old school" way - we are just not facilitating it as again, it is counterproductive to our goal of something that resembles more of a proper app store and not just a repository of "files."
I'm sorry for the disappointment to those find the previous method to work better for them. As you know, we try to take on board as much feedback as we can - after all, there's no point to any of this without customers. Nonetheless, while we've heard the feedback loud and clear, we do not intend on reversing course on downloads or policy changes, so at this juncture, I would very respectfully ask that we move on to other, more actionable feedback items.
Thank you as always for your continued business.

    Hi again,
It appears that posts in a topic are still visible to the banned member if he visits the activity feed in the author's profile. Could you solve this?

Shiyo reacted to MMXII in [4.5] Improvements for badges
With 4.5 we got those nice and shiny badges:

However there is not much we can do with these. No way to edit the icon (I know it can be done manually, I am talking about AdminCP options...), to way to change the inverval for how long a "recently joined" member is getting a badge, no option to display badges based on usergroups (not just if someone has moderator permissions) etc.
Also the "hand icon" for recently joined members has received quite some negative feedback. It is misinterpreted for restrictions being in place instead of a waving hand (what I suppose it should be taken for).
    Suggestions:
Please add a usergroup-based options: Display profile badge YES|NO (If YES, then 2nd option:) Edit profile badge: Background color (color picker) Icon Remove badge from moderator permissions (not needed anymore with the above option based on usergroups) For recently joined members, please add an option to choose for how many days the joined-recently-badge will be displayed.

Hi, I'm interested in purchasing this and I was wondering if you have any plan to make different types of ban available based on each topic, instead of making it a global setting.
What I mean is I'd rather have different types of ban activated throughout different topics at the same time:
TOPIC A: users in the ban list are banned from posting
TOPIC B: users in the ban list are banner from viewing

Bumping this up from purgatory seeing as there was no changes made in this regard.
The "search by author" tool is an invaluable tool large, active communities.
We moved our community from VB, and I - Both as a user, a moderator and admin - have been using this feature on pretty much on a weekly basis.

Here are a couple of examples as to why this feature is needed, both from the community member's POV, and also from that of a moderator:
    1. A member (Let's call him Bob) PMs me (or another mod) saying another member (say.... Mike) is constantly harassing them in a thread. said thread happens to be 549 pages long and has been running for the past 5 years. Wanting to check Bob is truthful and to see if Mike really is harassing them, I go into search and look for "comments/posts in this thread by Mike". I see mike only said Bob was incorrect once, I Tell Bob to go do something more useful with his time.
    2. A mod (josh) tells me he keeps seeing this one girl (Amanda) constantly posting cars for sale on our Buy/Sell forum, So she's probably a dealer posing as a private seller (If you fail to see the problem, This is illegal here in our country). I then go to the search and look for "threads posted by Amanda in the Buy/Sell forum" and see she posted 64 cars for sale in the last six months. we ban Amanda's ass and send her packin'.
    3. A member (Mindy. No, I don't know what's up with the names. Those are just the ones that came to me.) notices another member (James) is trolling the hell out of a technical help request thread opened by a brand new member (Harry). Fearing this would make Harry leave and wanting to be a helpful community member, Mindy searches "Posts in this thread by James", and reports the latest comment attaching the entire list of trolly comments. James is then shows the proverbial door and recommended to not let it hit him in the tushy on his way out.

Now, Can we have it back please?

It's quite time consuming to add everybody as client right now to the new submission (I really didn't expect that it would be that time-consuming:D )
I'm doing this in daily batches and I promise that I'll have every old purchaser imported to the new file until the new version for 4.5 gets released. Please don't pm me because of access to the new file. The current version is the same as the one in @TAMANs release.

While I'm also voting for this, I'd really appreciate an option that allows users to join a random team but not to choose it.
In this scenario any user that applies to to join a squad would be assigned to a random team from a selected list, ensuring that teams are more or less balanced in term of members per team. This would be a nice addition for competition-based communities where teams tends to be entirely fictional and need to be balanced in numbers.
Also I'd love to see an integration with your Basic Points plugin (imagine a 'Top points per team' widget).
I haven't bought the plugin yet, but I plan to do so in the the near future.
