Jim M reacted to Mark H in How to create a social subset of the Member group? That's correct, there is no native provision for members to choose their own Group or Groups, however the 3rd-party app which @opentype suggested may be an acceptable solution.

Jim M reacted to acarlsson in How do I move a post?I am 100% sure that in IPB3.x I as a moderator could move posts to another thread, but it seems impossible to do it in Invision Community.
This seems very strange, what have I missed? 🤔
Found it. You have to give moderators access in the IPB control panel.

Jim M got a reaction from sofos in How to create a social subset of the Member group?Due to you are granting access to "special" areas (your 2nd point), this would be a permission and I would advise setting up a new member group for this. Then you can either assign it as a primary group (shown publicly) or a secondary group (hidden to users in the core software).
If you wanted to show secondary member groups, you could use the following add-on (please note that all support for third party add-ons are through the author): https://invisioncommunity.com/files/file/9897-secondary-group-display/

Jim M got a reaction from Jimi Wikman in WYSIWYG Editor Block only in pages?Pages' WYSIWYG editor block is available within other applications as well. Double checking myself, I tried Forums, Downloads, Commerce, and Gallery. If you're having issues with a specific application, please let us know which one and I can double check for you.

Jim M got a reaction from sofos in How to create a social subset of the Member group? How would this group differ from the existing member group? Special permissions, access to certain areas? Will it cost money to join this group?
If you want to simply open up an area for these users to discuss and be a part of a sub-group of your community. Our Clubs feature is a perfect fit for this. You can see a basic overview of our Clubs feature here. Also, can see it in action here on our community here. To activate Clubs, you would simply go to ACP -> Community -> Clubs -> Enable (if you haven't already). Then ensure your member groups have permission to access them.

Jim M got a reaction from RisingHigh in New Member Reg Date & Overwriting Exisiting AccountsThanks for posting!
Unfortunately, this issue is beyond the scope of our technical support. 👩💻
Our technical support is happy to help you with the Invision Community platform, but we're unable to help with things like server management, theme questions and modifications.
I've moved this to our Community Support area where other Invision Community owners will see it and help where they can.

Jim M reacted to Stuart Silvester in Why has my custom Java and CSS disappeared?Hi Nigel,
I think you're looking at the global theme editor instead of the specific to Pages.
The CSS and Javascript files for Pages are stored in a different place, go to AdminCP > Pages > Templates.

Jim M got a reaction from Marc in Download progress bar doesn't always showThank you for reporting this issue. I was able to reproduce this in Clubs as well as normally and I have reported it internally for our developers to further review. If we have further questions, we'll reach back out. Otherwise, a fix should become available in a future maintenance release. Thanks again for reporting!

Sorted - thanks to @Stuart Silvester for a speedy response - top notch support as always 🙂

Hey @Marc Stridgen. Yes, I'm using the most recent IPB version, 4.6.5.1 (complete with recent patch). I just tried restoring all buttons to the default configuration once again to be on the safe side and the problem persists. And the Support page shows no files missing.
I'll submit a ticket. Thanks for all the followup here!

This issue has been confirmed by IPS through a support ticket and the good news is they are working on a fix. The workaround is to re-save the content notification setting either by logging in as the user or through the ACP. One you re-save, the email notification is sent after content is approved. I've tested and used this workaround multiple times and has worked for me. For now its an extra few steps but hopefully there will be a patch or fix soon. This is important for some of my sites as it triggers the content poster to come back.

Jim M reacted to Marc in Restoring CKEditor's default config breaks stuffCould I confirm you are on the latest release first of all? Also, check within Support (top right of ACP) to ensure that there is nothing showing up there. Specifically that its not showing files missing. If you're still not seeing any resolve, please submit a ticket and we can take a look to see what is happening

Jim M got a reaction from LiquidFractal in Restoring CKEditor's default config breaks stuffResetting the default configuration was done through the ACP? (we sometimes have people applying CKEditor files to the file system which will cause issues so wanted to clarify)
Are you receiving any errors in your browser console?

Jim M got a reaction from Luciann in New host - can't log in to the forumWould recommend using the default .htaccess which is in ACP > System > Search Engine Optimization > in the description of the Rewrite URLs? field.

Jim M reacted to opentype in EOL notifications from developers to users? It sounds too much of a specialized function for such a small Marketplace. Contributors can easily announce that on the product page or in the support topic. And if you are subscribed to the support topic, you even already get a notification.
Besides, resources getting unsupported is usually a long process, where the lack of orders and support requests signals that creating updates might not be worth it. If an automatic notification would go out, all remaining customers would be alerted and probably ask for the product to remain in active development. So it would completely defeat the purpose of helping to phase out the product. 😉
And I would guess that most resources become unsupported because the developer leaves the platform. It’s unlikely that they will bother to go through the process of setting up EOL notes for all their products in this case. Having the function wouldn't help at all in these cases.

Disabled all 3rd-party stuff and still the same.
I’ll try to reproduce in a fresh install and will submit a ticket if it insists.
Thank you, @Jim M.

The same as above for this one, Anawa.
