Hey Jim, there is already a setting for disallowing the linking of external images, hot linking from outside.

I wonder if in the future we could add a toggle to prohibit hot linking images internally? Perhaps by member group. Or just disallow period.

You can certainly suggest this in the Feedback forum :)

well I did reset the size of images to smaller a couple weeks ago, and rebuilt the system. I thought I could rebuild without any adverse effects? Just the display sizes would of been modified?

When you rebuild it will change the ending of the image files. Which isn't a problem except when you are copy/pasting the image URL places. Then it will break. If you use the internal system to attach existing attachments, it will be updated.

  3. The images are no longer present in those locations on your server. They are returning a 404 not found. You will not want to hotlink images from other areas of the site as this can lead to 404 not founds if the images are rebuilt. You will want to use the "Insert existing attachment" option in the editor for these cases or directly upload the image in the content which you're using it in.

  4. The unread stream by default will combine all posts from a topic into "one entry" and then bring you to the last item which the user didn't read. If the user didn't read the topic, they'd be brought to the first post in the topic.

With that said, you as an administrator can change this default and/or the user can change their own behavior for when they click a new item. Alternatively, the user could create their own activity stream which would not combine all posts from a topic into a single entry.

As an administrator to change the defaults of the Unread Activity Stream, you would go to: ACP -> System -> Activity Streams -> edit Unread Activity Stream -> change "Show Me" to "Content items, comments, and reviews"

As an administrator you can change the default behavior for what happens when someone clicks a topic with a new post in it by going to: ACP -> Members -> Profiles -> Profile Settings -> When a member clicks an item link.

A user can change the behavior of what happens when they click a topic with a new post in it by going to Account Settings -> Content Preferences.

Thats being said... the final solution that I found to deal with the problem of the files transferring to the S3 storage was by reinstalling the suite from scratch and then make a database rebuild.

Of course... stuff was missing but I was able to recover 90% of the posts... however some problems appeared in the profiles (the ones i came to report latelly) where there is a desync in the content counts due to the small lost of the rest of the posts.

This segment sounds like the database rebuild was manual and may not be complete. Which would create problems that you're seeing now on sporadic profiles/users. If that is the case, the only way to resolve these issues would be restore completely back to where the data is either all missing or all together. Mismatched data restores will create problems.

Could you expand on this please?

I'm not quite sure what I can expand on other than what is already on their website 😊

Again, with a signficant amount of data being sent through Sendgrid, our deliverability has been flawless (with the right setup of course) - how would PostMark have "better" deliverability?

We just to make sure we are not missing something.

If you've had great deliverability, that is fine. You're more than able to continue using SendGrid as mentioned above 😊

  7. We would need to look further into this for you, however the access details on file appear to be incorrect or missing. Could you please update these details by visiting your client area, selecting the relevant purchase, then clicking "Review/Update Access Information" under the "Stored Access Information" section.

We look forward to further assisting you.

What does this option do? Will the count be rebuilt to reflect the actual number, taking the deleted content into account?

Now I’m confused. So what the person above said won’t help me? Are you planning a tool that would allow recalculating the number of posts and reactions to reflect the actual count after a thread is deleted? If a user received reactions and made posts in a thread that later turns out to be spam, manually revoking all of that becomes very problematic.

Both are correct. You need to manually click the button to recount items. They are not done automatically when the deletion occurs.
