You likely have a huge achievements activity log, and the bigger the table grows, the slower the site is. I've seen it happen before. Try enabling the setting to prune the old logs and see if it helps:

Starship reacted to OsmanK in Use of PhotoSwipe Instead of Lightbox
I think the built-in Lightbox view falls short in some situations. To enhance the user experience, I propose the adoption of PhotoSwipe, which is a free and feature-rich alternative.
PhotoSwipe provides users with fast and smooth transitions between images, offering a more interactive experience. Additionally, features like zooming and dragging allow users to examine images in more detail. This change will make the visual content on our website more appealing and user-friendly.
With the IC 5 update, could there be an evaluation of replacing the built-in Lightbox view with PhotoSwipe?
    License
It comes with an MIT license, allowing free usage for personal or commercial projects. For more information and to explore the details of PhotoSwipe, you can visit the PhotoSwipe Official Website.

Starship reacted to opentype in Your account does not require validation
The error doesn’t point to a specific problem. You would need to narrow down the cause first. Could be a problem with the email links (changed by the mail provider?). Could be a caching issue. Could be admin interference (where accounts are approved before the user does it). Could be the links are simply clicked multiple times …

Finally, I launched MarketPlace at valacoding.com.
    Buyers:
On this site, as a buyer, you can order products and install/update them directly in your ACP as before you did in IPS Marketplace!! 🙂 . In addition, if a new version of the apps is released, they will be displayed in the ACP just like the IPS apps and you will be informed about new released versions.
All clients who have purchased my products must register on the site and send me info about the products (product name, order code provided by IPS) and the username registered on the valacoding.com site so i can update them.

    for example :
    Username
    -Laxeri theme
    ****-****-****-****
    -Menu plus
    ****-****-****-****
    .
    .
    .
Note:  users who have already purchased products through IPS do not need to register a new order for those products. they just need send us the information that i mentioned above

    Welcome to Invision Community 5!
Over the coming weeks, we'll be exploring a bunch of new features and improvements coming to our user interface including our brand new theme editor, a new mobile UI, dark mode and performance improvements thanks to a reduction in both JavaScript and CSS. To kick off this series, let’s take a closer look at the new sidebar layout and new view modes for the forum index and topic pages.
    Sidebar Layout
Traditionally, Invision Community has shipped with a horizontal header and navigation bar at the top of the page, which is still available in version 5. We're introducing a brand new (and optional) sidebar layout, which can be enabled or disabled easily from within your theme settings. The sidebar not only provides convenient access to your applications, activity streams and search bar, but you can now add links to nodes for even easier access to popular or commonly used areas of your community. For example - a category from your forum, an album from the Gallery, or a product group from Commerce.
    Sidebar-zoom.mp4
    Forum Index: Feed view
One of our goals for version 5 was to re-imagine new ways for your visitors to consume content, and the sidebar layout is just one of our solutions. Table view has been the typical way of displaying forums, providing visitors with a simple summary of the most recently active topic. Grid mode introduced cover photos to forums and is a great way to make your page more visually engaging, while fluid view allows visitors to filter through a list of topics to easily focus on multiple areas of the community.
Joining these view modes in version 5 is our new Feed view. Optional cover photos and featured forum colours allow you to personalise each forum, and a list of recently active topics with snippets of the most recent reply allow you to easily see what each forum is focusing on at a glance. The topic list drops below the cover photo and converts to a scrollable list on small devices. It's our fresh take on content display, and we can’t wait to hear your feedback!

    Topic pages: Compact view
In addition, Invision Community 5 also introduces a new, compact layout option for topics. We wanted to create a layout which placed focus on your content while still keeping all of the authors profile information easily accessible within a mini profile. Stats, rank, badges, reputation points and more can be found by tapping the icon at the top of every post. The mini profile strip has also been added to other areas of the software too, such as comments and reviews in applications like Gallery and Blogs, and will appear on the mobile layout when the traditional "table view" is used in topics.
Switching between the new compact view and the author sidebar view takes just seconds giving you complete control over your community.
    Mini profile.mp4

As part of this view, you also have the choice to feature/pin the original post to the top of every page, making it a breeze for your visitors to easily understand the context of replies without navigating back to page 1. Pinned posts have a slightly larger font-size to distinguish them from replies, and we've thoughtfully truncated them on pages beyond the first to keep scrolling to a minimum.

The new sidebar layout and view modes offer a fresh and innovative approach to navigating and interacting with your community. We’re really keen to hear your thoughts on these new views and whether you’ll be unleashing them on your own sites! We appreciate that no two sites are the same, and those who are a fan of the classic header look will benefit from quick styling tools and a visual way to re-arrange the header elements which we’ll cover in a later blog.
We’re looking forward to showcasing a whole bunch of new features over the coming weeks - so stay tuned, and we’ll see you then!

It’s unfortunately how payments in Commerce works. You get a specific time to renew, and once that time has expired, you cannot renew anymore, because the invoice has expired. But you also cannot purchase again, because there is already an invoice pending. But you cannot pay that invoice because it is expired …
    Always reminds me of this:

Starship reacted to PPlanet in Issue with subscriptions and inactive users
I don't know how much it differs from the way I have things set up, but basically, for a while, not sure if by defect or by design, members were able to buy different subscription packages at the same time (of course nobody did that as the only difference in my packages is the amount of time between them, so no point having two subscriptions running simultaneously). However, this had the advantage that, if they wanted to buy a different subscription, once the previous expired, they could, so they could switch from 1 month to 3 months, or 6 months or 1 year, and any way around too. Even for the same duration, if one subscription renewal had expired, they just got a new one.
However, after some upgrade, I can't recall if from 4.4 to 4.5 (though I think that was for me, despite IPS saying the above functionality was never the case for the 4 series, but as I said for me it was, whether it was intended or not, and it suited me fine).
But, after that upgrade, I noticed what you say, which apparently, it's the way it should work by design now. That does not suit me, so I asked @DawPi to create a plugin for me to revert things as they were before. So, you may want to discuss it with him, if you are open to using a third party plugin.

We're excited to announce that Invision Community 4.6.0 Beta 1 is officially live! 🎉
@Matt has a blog post on the way detailing all of the amazing additions, including how many commits and lines of code that were changed. A lot. The answer is a lot.
Just to refresh your memories, some of the biggest changes/additions include:
Achievements (Points!) Web app and Push notifications Anonymous Posting when posting as a member Highlight Topics with replies from specific Groups Spam Improvements (And more!) It's available per request for Cloud customers or, if you're self-hosted, by manually downloading it.
Self-hosted: please make the necessary backups before upgrading. Because this is a Beta, please understand there is an inherent risk when upgrading.
The more information/feedback we get, the better we can optimize and improve things 🙂

Starship reacted to Makoto in What are the optimum settings for Invision on CloudFlare?
Your cache level should definitively be Standard, the default setting. Using anything else will break IPS' cache busting feature, which is needed to recache static assets.
Cache TTL can come down to a matter of preference. Considering important resources like CSS and Javascript assets are cache busted as needed, it's safe to use values up to even 30 days if you so wish.
The potential concern with this is, if image attachments are deleted but left embedded into posts as an example, they will still display as cached in the users browser for however long you set this to. So, it can be a minor privacy concern, as IPS currently does not automatically remove image embeds from posts when attachments are deleted from the users control panel.
That's really the only thing to keep in mind. Otherwise, I recommend at least 7-days personally.

Outside of these, there are several useful features Cloudflare provides that I recommend taking advantage of.
Note, some of these features are Pro only, but if you're a Free user, use the ones that aren't. They help if even a little bit and there's no reason not to.
Now, if you have a high traffic website and you can afford it, I personally believe it's worth upgrading to the Pro plan.

But to get started with the optimizations, under the Speed tab, go to Optimization and make sure these settings are enabled.

Polish with WebP enabled can be hugely useful if you have a lot of PNG attachments / avatar uploads on your site, as WebP can provide substantially better lossless image compression compared to PNG.
Auto Minify is disabled by default and you should enable it. The actual performance improvement is small, but it's still an improvement with no risks, so there's no reason not to use it.
Brotli, again, small improvements, but no risks and and no reason not to use it for clients that support it. All the overhead involved in performing the compression is handled by Cloudflare here after all.

Enhanced HTTP/2 Prioritization and TCP Turbo are again zero risk performance improvements and if you have access to them you should enable them.
Mirage can be great in theory for mobile browsers by automatically optimizing images on slow networks. It's in beta, but I do definitely recommend enabling this. Roughly half the of the internets traffic today is mobile. These optimizations can yield huge benefits to your users.
Rocket Loader I do not recommend enabling, as it can cause functional and perceptional issues with IPB. It makes things look and act in strange ways, and can potentially just break things. Rocket Loader is one of those things that works well for some sites, but is awful for others. It's not great for IPB in my experience. I say the same for PageSpeed JS optimizations and so on as well.
Under the Network tab, make sure these settings are enabled.

All of these are, again, zero risk performance optimizations. No reason not to use them.
Argo tunnel can potentially be useful as well, but note that it can be extremely expensive depending on your bandwidth requirements. It's an additional $0.10/GB of bandwidth. Do not enable it until you have at least a months worth of bandwidth analytics logged from Cloudflare so you have an idea of how much you can expect to pay if you enable this feature.

Starship reacted to ASTRAPI in Community Guide on Setting Up Backblaze and CloudFlare
    Hello 🙂
(This is a community guide on how to setup Backblaze and Cloudflare, as a significantly cheaper replacement for Amazon S3 and Cloudfront.  The author has no affiliate arrangement with any of the companies listed in the guide and offers the guide as a free community resource.  You should consult with your hosting provider and / or server administrator before proceeding with the guide.)
The tutorial is tested with the latest version of Invision 4.5.4 !

Invision Community allows a file storage configuration with Amazon S3 and a content distribution network (CDN) of your choice:

    WHAT IS BACKBLAZE?

Backblaze is an infinitely Scalable B2 Cloud Storage. Backblaze B2 is enterprise-grade, S3 compatible storage that companies around the world use to store and serve data. Backblaze's service works with native APIs, CLI, and GUI; you can move and manage data with minimal coding. Their service provides fast access all the time; there is no need to accept delays or pay speed surcharges. It can also support HIPAA compliant storage with their Business Associates Agreement (BAA). B2 is compatible at ¼ the cost of AWS S3 with no hidden fees or minimums.

Backblaze is an award winning cloud storage provider for 2020 !

    Pricing:

Based on their latest pricing, it is very cheap at around 5$ per 1TB storage per month! There is a cost for direct downloads (bandwidth) at 0.01$ per GB but it will not affect us as we will use Cloudflare and all files will be served from Backblaze to Cloudflare and then to users that is totally free 🙂
Be careful if you have any custom direct downloads that bypass Cloudflare. If you link to custom downloads directly, you will be charged for bandwidth. All default Invision files should go through Cloudflare. I am using Backblaze for a few of my clients and they never charged anything extra as all Invision files are going through Cloudflare as expected. Please monitor your balance after a few days just to be sure!

    GUIDE:
BEFORE PROCEEDING, PLEASE BACKUP YOUR DATA FIRST!

STEP 1: Create a bucket on Backblaze
First we need to sign up at Backblaze Cloud: https://www.backblaze.com/b2/sign-up.html
You will need a phone number to activate your account:

After the activation of the account we will need to create a bucket that will host our files.

On the Buckets sections we click on Create a Bucket:

Then we add a name for our bucket. Recommendation: avoid dots (.) in the bucket name.

On the next screen we type a Bucket name and we select Public and then we click at Create a Bucket.

After that under the Create a Bucket we should have our Bucket.

Now we must keep a note of the ENDPOINT:

Now we need to get our Bucket access keys from the App Keys menu. At the bottom we click at Add a New Application Key:

At the new screen we select a anything as a key name and we keep selected the Read and Write access and wee click at Create New Key:

Then you will see there only once the KeyID and the Application Key that we must keep a note of them as we will need them later !

As a last step we need to go to our bucket that we just created and upload an image. From the menu on the left we click on Browse Files and then we click on our bucket:

Then we click on upload and we upload a simple file like an image...

On the right side of the uploaded image we have to click at the info icon:

At the pop up screen we need to keep a note for that part so copy it with the other notes that wee have already:

That's it ! We created our bucket and we got the access info that we will need !

STEP 2: Create a CNAME dns record at Cloudflare

Now you have to login to Cloudflare and go to your DNS tab from the top menu and then click Add record:

We use as Type the Cname and as Name the cdn and as Target the info that we got from the pop on the previous step in the tutorial above:

After saving that DNS record we should have that:

Now for security reasons we have to go to the page Rules on the top menu and create two rules:

    RULE 1:
Just replace your domain and the bucket name that you create:

    RULE 2:
    Just replace your domain:

The final result should be like this:

Keep in mind the order of the rules as if you set the second rule as 1 it will not work and your forum images will not work as page rules uses priority. This is important!
That's it for the Cloudflare part!

STEP 3: Configure Invision to use the Backblaze Cloud
From Invision Admin Control Panel, go to System -> Files -> Storage Settings

    Then we click on Configurations:

and then on Create New on the right side.
Then we select Amazon S3 and we fill the needed info as:

When you click Save if you get any warnings or errors then you have to check again the tutorial as you may forgot something or may have a typo somewhere...
If you save it without any issues then you are ready to use it by going to: System -> Files -> Storage Settings
and select a category with not many images for example Icons & Logos or anything else with a few images and from the drop down options the: Amazon S3:superbucket

Then wait for the automated task to transfer your files to the Cloud and check if all are ok !
If yes then you can proceed with the rest categories.

*Keep only at your server your theme resources:

Keep in mind that if you have a lot of GB of files it may take a long time for the transfer !

It may help to go to the Dashboard and run manually the process to get the files transferred faster.

*Attachments and Downloads may not work out of the box (don't use them on my test forum and i don't know for sure) and you may need to use the addon S3 Compatible Downloads:

I hope that you will benefit from this tutorial and get better performance while saving space on your main server and a lot of money 🙂
Backblaze is much more stable than Wasabi!
It also includes up to 10GB free storage, so you can test it easily !
    Credits to: @Joel R and @Martin A.
    Enjoy !
