Foolboy got a reaction from Anja Müller in System error when accessing Calendar after upgrading from IPS 4.7.0 to 4.7.1
Yesterday, I upgraded my IPS site from 4.7.0 to 4.7.1. Suddenly, I got numerous System error records into System log that indicates the issue within Calendar app. When I tried accessing Calendar, it shows the following error message:
Error: Call to undefined method DateTime::getDateInformation() (0) My IPS site is running on PHP 8.1.9. There is no issue like this on IPS 4.7.0 with the same PHP version. Therefore, I'm pretty sure that this issue is not related to PHP. Also, I tried clearing system cache and disable / re-enable the Calendar app but still unable to resolve this issue.
Any help or suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your support.

We have released a patch for 4.7.1 to workaround this issue.
To install, go to AdminCP > System > Support and click "optional patch available" in the top left block.
If you do not see this, you may already have the patch since it is included with and upgrades or downloads of the software after the date of this post.

We've been looking further into this today, it appears that a bug "fix" in PHP 8.0.22 & 8.1.9 has caused some issues - https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=80047
I suspect this unannounced breaking change may cause issues in other software packages. The bug report suggests this change was actually intended for PHP 8.2 but was committed to 8.0/8.1 anyway.
We're working on a solution. I do not know at this time whether PHP might roll it back in the next release or not so we'll do something to work with either situation.

    Hi there,
I think it's likely that we'll remove native Facebook promotion support as it's becoming close to impossible to keep up and also to get apps approved. A likely replacement will be using Zapier to promote to Facebook.

Appreciate the responses - I've thought about it some more, and while the position you're leaning towards does make sense, I'm hoping that you might reconsider and feel that this may be worth the extra dev effort. I've really come to admire the Promote feature of the IPS software, and I feel its purpose was to offer a one-stop solution for community admins to broadcast interesting content across their connected social media platforms. I figured that this could be a really cool USP for the IPS software that could expand to things like Discord, Instagram, Tumblr etc connectivity too. It'd be a shame if this feature stopped at Twitter and reversed course with Facebook. But, I understand if you have other priorities.
I know there are third party solutions like Zapier that can help make things like this work, but what I love about the IPB software is the potential for its all-in-one built in solutions (it's a reason why I purchased Pages, with the intent to adapt it to a blog that I can migrate my Wordpress over to one day). At least, I hope there is a means for community plug-in developers to build something for Marketplace that can fill the gap and add/fix Facebook to the baked-in Promote service.

So I'm trying to take advantage of the social media promotion / Our Picks feature on my forum, and while Twitter integration is working as intended there is some sort of fatal error preventing me from connecting my community to my Facebook Page. When going through the AdminCP, I'm told to head to Facebook and sign in to grant the following permissions:
    'manage_pages'
    'publish_pages'
However when I click the links to head off-site and onto Facebook, the following error is thrown at me every single time.
I have done some digging and it turns out that both "manage_pages" and "publish_pages" are actually deprecated Facebook Page parameters since mid-2020, which I am assuming is leading to the errors here.
    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/permissions/reference/manage_pages/
Classic case of Facebook changing its code every five minutes... but it does mean that IPB's software urgently needs to be updated in order for this feature to work correctly now.
Can we please get this addressed in the next bugfix update?

In my case I can view and add to any single calendar (including ones with user defined events) but again, not the summary view (/claendar) for displaying multiple calendars at once on a page.

Thank you. Based on the investigation from @PoC2 , I also found that only calendar with user-defined events will cause this issue. Blank calendars with only member's birthday will not throw this error. Even trying to add new event into the calendar will also cause this error. This is definitely a bug.

    Further investigation:
This error only occurs on the /calendar page when it is drawing in multiple calendars to display. If just one calendar is active (viewable) then no error.

    Hello Taman,
After I installed the latest version of Magnum Theme (4.3.5), I've encountered numerous issues as follows:
    1) The main logo is not align correctly with the navigation bar.

    2) I could not configured the news ticker to properly loaded the latest article from Page. I've already used this template (ta_themes_pages_newsticker.xml) on your previous theme version (4.3.3) with no issue so I guess that it should work on this new version as well. But apparently that it isn't.

    3) When I tried to config the article on page footer using the template from previous version (ta_themes_pages_footer.xml) on your newly created IPSKit Addons plugin, the articles seems to not properly aligned like on the previous theme version.

    4) This one is the most important issue. I found that the new swiper slider on IPSKit Addons plugin has no ability to load articles from Page using the template from previous version of your theme (ta_themes_pages_slider.xml) And there is no title style and button customization at all.

    5) I just DM to you about this issue but I would like to inform you again that IPSkit Theme Copyright Removal 1.0.1 is not working with the new Magnum theme version.
There is no option to downgrade the theme into 4.3.4, which was worked without any issue. Please help. Thank you in advance for your support.

    Hello,
No it will cause conflict and it is wrong to copy paste everything from another template to custom.css
also, dont modify any CSS/HTML templates as this will always cause the theme not to function properly on new IPS versions.
Use custom.css for ALL your styling and customization's you can literally do everything you want with styles and without touching a single other css template 😉
How to use custom.css? Say for example you edited a css template to change a color. you dont need to do that! just copy the css for the color and paste it inside custom.css then change the color code
There is no no need to enable designer mode editing javascript to change a font.
simply use css to change font
you can also just post how to change a font here in forums, im sure there is always someone to help. you could also ask it here in my support topics i can always help with small customizations like font/color text size or whatever 🙂

    Thank you too!
    be safe

Just a heads up that I've been grinding on new stuff for Spacious. No peeking, but the plan is to dump it all out with 4.3.
On that note... Don't be installing/using Spacious on 4.3 (alpha, beta, otherwise...) until I push a compatible release out. With the changes to the member view, just looking at the screenshot, I can venture a guess that the bit where you can PM a member right from the member page is going to break things on the new stuff.

Nothing appears suite-breaking using the current version of Spacious with 4.3. Some things aren't working or are a little wonky but otherwise it's fine. That PM the member from the member page thing I thought would break things given the entire re-working of the member pages in 4.3 is "fine"...because they removed the template that bit hooked into. Can't break anything if it can't set the hook. So, feel free to use Spacious 13 on 4.3 if you are alright with some weirdness in spots.
All will be patched and so on and so forth for the official 4.3 release. Already have all the "broken" things fixed, new 4.3 things you want to change are changeable, improvements, etc.
I've just started grinding on 4.3 compatibility for all my stuff so forgive me if I'm not responding to comms fastly.
  25. Thanks

EDIT: And now it's morning. Something is off on yours, might be a edge-case I'm not accounting for so I'll need to take a look.
