This Bionic font might be appealing to a segment of one's audience but likely not all.  It would be interesting to see if you could provide a toggle to change the display font and size.

    https://tribe.so/app/telegram
Telegram is a popular instant messaging app that you can use to help your admins, moderators, and members engage with the community and take actions. You can keep the members informed via Telegram by sending the activity notifications of the community and allow them to interact. This helps in boosting member retention and engagement.
Members can receive notifications when others follow them, upvote their content, answer their questions, request answer, receive rewards or badges, etc. All the notifications sent via community would have a specific link for the activity so the members can swiftly go back to the community to take any action.
It is also possible to perform activities in the community, without even logging in. Tribe’s Telegram integration allows members to search for content or post a question or an answer right from the messenger.
@Lindy how about this integration offers and managed directly by ips team?

kmk reacted to Joachim Sandstrom in The app question again. Native app (e.g. for IOS) vs. Progressive Web App (PWA)
I know that this question has been discussed for years. But with years follows new thoughts and changes in the world around us. I think that e.g. Matt’s input (below) from June 2020 as a reply to a post concerning the app poll of 2018 could do with an update. So, a few questions on that:   Matt mentioned in an app related post in 2020 that the IPS direction was a ”native app”: ”I'm not against doing more with PWA in a future version, it's just that we do not think that Apple will invest much time in their PWA system anytime soon, so for a fully mobile experience the only logical choice is a native app so that is where we have put our development resources.”  https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/446733-mobile-app-progressive-web-app-pwa-for-ipb/?do=findComment&comment=2822578   I note in the same post that Matt’s argument for the native path was Apple’s lack of PWA investments. In IOS 15 (and similar in a parallel Safari version) Apple has improved its WPA support. https://www.ithinkdiff.com/safari-ios-15-4-pwa-support-70-additions/   a. I am not a techie and can’t judge the importance of Apple’s PWA improvements in relation to IPB. So I ask, given these changes what is IPS's current strategic standpoint on the PWA vs. native app question?   b. I have noted that IPS does not favor public deadlines. But maybe you could share some kind of yearly preliminary high level roadmap, indicating what the customers could expect from the app strategy under question a? It would help us in answering our customers’ questions in a professional way.   Cheers,   /Joachim

kmk reacted to Nathan Explosion in Remove + Create ▼ link in header?
Your provided information was "I don't need user to create events"
Disabling the app or restricting access to the calendar will stop that. It won't hide the 'Create' button though.
Here is the answer to your actual requirement - use CSS to hide it.
    li#cCreate{ display:none; }

kmk reacted to David N. in Remove + Create ▼ link in header?
Thank you (and thanks to @Nathan Explosion). Because there's also a separator right after that "Create" link that I also wanted to hide I ended up using this:
    /* Hide "Create" link next to bell and letter icons in the header */ li#cCreate li#cCreate+li.elUserNav_sep {     display:none; }

If I have no one contact set up, it should be disabled no?? 🤔 But still show the contact button...

I would like request an option that let me replace that Contac field by Editor field, what I need to place there is whatsapp me link(or whatever others best way for us) , so customer just click on that button will open their Whatsapp with that advert embed, starting realtime negociation process

Sounds like you want to transform this into something that acts like Airbnb. This will require way too much modification from its current state to make it worth it. Better to have something custom made for your specific needs.

    Hi @InvisionHQ
Is possible add an site ownership option?
What I try to do is use my website as the final place of transactions, when customer want to buy an item just use my commerce payment gateway to pay for the advert item, but at the sametime we don't need to show who is the member who offer the advert.
I need to set up my classified as below described:
    1. Members submit adverts,
    2. After advert is submitted need to be approved (I know this option already there)
    3. Instead show member as advert author, we need that advert show the name assigned by admin( example SiteName an member account handle by admin team), so all advert authors will be SiteName
    4. Customer want to get the deal or purchase the item, in the invoice will show the name of submitter as who is selling that item.
    5. So when members submit an advert, there should be contains a Submitter name field to be filled.

More advanced permissions for clubs, let us build mini groups that let them handle public and private contents.
    1. Example:
A forum exclusive for clubs moderators or leaders
A forum exclusive for club members
A public forum for members and not members.
    2. One of the weakness of the forum is all topic need to be assigned a title, that format just not convenient to motivate people to develop conversation with more freely.
Why not made Status Update available for clubs? With that we can create a type of public comments for each clubs. Then let us 📍 EXCELLENT comments for a determined time period. (you have a good point comment, I pin it for 10 days because I guest that 10 days we will still talking about it. That same mechanism we can apply for announcements purpose....for populate some public topic purpose...
    3. Enclose commands buttons in a tool button 🔳
Enclose the repeated title and description in an ABOUT button, because each time we go to that page is  for the read content purpose, not read again and again first the same title and same description. Leave it as an pop up modal so who really want to read that ABOUT information go to Click on that button. After that when we open the club (for mobile case) we can see contents from the first view. By now each time open the page we need to scrolling to find (again) page content or topic content that is the focus.

Joined solution option, bulk reaction for administration,  "topic posting time/choosing date and time for topic to be active ( sometimes we want to write something at night but prefer post is next day etc)
Integration with resizing engine..eg TinyPng etc....
Fully translatable Announcements... Im talking about the text input...who's with me!!??

More control over ads, ability to show adverts after post numbers, currently we can only select after the first post.

I think more than ever sites are looking at any means they can to help monetize their sites as expenses to run their sites keep increasing.  <Here's looking at you IPS>
Are any "new features" in the pipeline this year likely to appreciably help us to further monetize our sites?  We can't effectively compete against Social Media companies by "trying" to replicate their feature set so why are we chasing down that path?
A conversation we should be having is what unique features could we collectively come up with to entice people to spend their precious time on our sites and cover our expenses more readily and maybe make a few dollars for ourselves. 💰

Its pretty dead as far as any revamp or major updates go like pages.....
Then do a major update of Commerce and make it happen
A major upgrade to Pages & Commerce ? Or do you mean they have yet again got missed off the agenda and its just forums......

Let me guess, the new features are Zapier connected socks and shirts. That's a revolution in forum software technology. Great job guys.

Not trying to be negative, just how I feel.  As others above have said, aside from things like Zapier that you almost never her members talk about, what new features have we seen?  I only update my support because I'm still waiting on a bug fix I reported a long time ago.
Instead of meaningful updates, we get mostly bug fixes, and a new store, not using your software.  I don't think there will be many purchases of an IPS hoodie, but I could be wrong.

Disappointed that the store was not built with Commerce....
Why do you guys not use your own products? Support with Commerce is ceased, now brand shop with Shopify. What next? Moving community blog to WordPress? Gallery to Instagram? Clubs to Facebook groups and Calendar to Google? Then "just" connect everything with Zapier.

I don't understand the logic of making it free so that you can always support it. I would have thought it would be the other way round – but maybe I have misunderstood something.

    Anyway, here's some feature requests:

It would be nice to be able to configure some of the ticker messages as only being visible to certain people – unregistered, site team, ordinary users, people with more than XX posts or people with less than XX posts – et cetera.
It would be nice to be able to put timers on to some of the messages so that the ticker is less repetitive. So some of the individual messages would appear for an hour every three or four hours and then replaced by another one which would go on for some designated amount of time – et cetera. Colour changes – automated. Date changes – so, for instance, a Christmas message comes up the day before Christmas and last a couple of days. New Year's messages, Valentine's Day messages – everything to be designated by the admin. The idea is to keep it dynamic so that there is often something new to look at.
If anybody wants to see the ticker working then www.nationalconsumerservice.co.uk

kmk reacted to Nathan Explosion in (NE) Translate
Upcoming v1.4.0 already has options for different locations for the translation menu.

You can customise your own installation if you wish, right now - template edit, or even add your HTML to the language string for 'Translate'
Going forward - I won't provide ability to upload an image. But I may provide an option for you to use an FA icon - so, please peruse the available FA icons and tell me which one you think it's a suitable icon to convey 'Translation' to an end-user...maybe this one? (don't suggest one that is available in a later version of FA - this application is built with the stock IPS software in mind, and that currently supports FA 4.7)

@kmk thank you for your suggestion. FAQ is on my list.
As for Club Databases, I still hope IPS will implement Pages into clubs natively.

There are indeed limitations right now with my add-on. It works perfect with default templates, like IPS articles or my news. But it does not look sane with documentation and courses 😞

Im not sure I understand the question there. You would be reimporting a new download of your data. You need to ensure its exported and imported using the same character set
  25. Thanks
kmk reacted to Stuart Silvester in EMOJI crashed after change of domain
If these are actual emoji, which It looks like they are, this means that the database wasn't exported with the proper charset (some servers may not use utf8mb4 by default). You'll need to use --default-character-set=utf8mb4 when running mysqldump.
This is something that is irreversible, you will need to export and transfer the database again to your new web host.
