    Article from Pages? No.
Next version will have a new type of quiz: study mode. This mode has no time challenge and no score, so users will may take the time they need in each question. There will be a button to display the explanation about the correct answer.
    See it in action:
You can paste the content of your article in this field on Manage Questions & Answers.
I will release it later this week.

I am happy to announce SuperGrid 2.0 with these changes:
    New SuperGrid Plugin.
No more copy and paste and editing settings in 5 different templates. All templates were recreated so all settings and the CSS are now part of a plugin. Much easier to use and upgrade!

    SuperGrid Horizontal Block!
By popular request: The block template now has the full functionality of the database listing template. Create database feed widgets with the 3x3 SuperGrid layout and put them anywhere on your site. The possibilities are endless! For example: Create an engaging SuperGrid homepage with multiple SuperGrid widgets as horizontal and/or vertical blocks. Or: Show 3/6/9… featured/recent/popular articles below or above your articles.

    Improved Record View on Mobile
By popular request: The record view template has been improved, so the avatar and the article/author information now adopt to the screen width and don’t take up as much space as before.

Make sure to follow the upgrade instructions in the PDF if you are upgrading. You need to fully remove SuperGrid 1.x first and the installation process for 2.0 has changed (i.e. made easier) as well.
Also: The new settings are now unified and independent from specific templates. So you cannot install the templates multiple times anymore and use different settings for each template set as you could with SuperGrid 1.x. All instances will use the same settings in SuperGrid 2.x.

kmk reacted to AbhiT in Option to show posts in reverse chronological order (latest at the top) in a discussion forum
Not a filter. But just show all replies in reverse order. So for example if this is current the ordering of the posts -
Title matter --- posted on July 1 at 10am
    Reply1 - July 2 at 10am
    Reply2 - July 2 at 11am
    Reply3 - July 4 at 10am
    Reply4 - July 8 at 9am
Show it in this manner (in reverse)
Title matter --- posted on July 1 at 10am   --- stays as title
    Reply4 - July 8 at 9am
    Reply3 - July 4 at 10am
    Reply2 - July 2 at 11am
    Reply1 - July 2 at 10am
So the reply that is shown at the top is the most recent reply since as information was updated the latest reply probably has the most relevant information.

Excellent discussion.  I'd suggest that you don't limit this to just Gallery images, but also to images in Pages.  Those assets should be just as "shareable" and "reusable" as any others -- but they also need to be identified as coming from Pages, with the ability to view ONLY the images in Pages.

To answer your question my specific situation goes back to the old yahoo groups before there even was any real "forum" software. You see, we've had our community evolve through 4 different versions now going back to 1999. First it was phpbb to replace yahoo groups. Well, we setup picture forums as there was no Gallery as part of that package. We converted to SMF (7 years ago)  which had a gallery via MOD but it wasn't as solid as we liked and our community was already locked into forums as a way of life.
Now that we have IPS which comes with a really fantastic gallery, I talked it over with my mods and we are really torn up about the right approach. We know our users will still want to use the forums but we think the gallery has a lot of potential. We like picture forums because posts with pictures foster a threaded conversation about the respective pictures. This we like. However, the gallery has a lot of added functionality. As it is now our forums are centered around pictures but we want to use gallery and can't figure out how to smoothly marry the two. We want to easily find all the image content someone has posted to the website without having to search for fragmented content in two different apps.

Image board owners face a major struggle between forums for images and Gallery. They are disconnected.
For those of us that run image boards IP4.x has some issues I've been thinking over. There is some disconnected logic regarding images. I have boards for posting images but I also want to use gallery. I am going to end up with fragmented content all over the place and no easy way to find content from a specific user.
It's difficult to view IMAGE attachments per user in profile. You can see "posts" or "topics" but not attachments.  If we have boards that are set up for posting images AND Gallery installed there is a logical disconnect.  We end up with some images in the forums and other images in the gallery but no way at all to tie the two together.  (see screen shot, this user has posted MANY images to the forums but under images there isn't anything posted.)
Recommendation: An option to allow images posted in the forums to automatically be considered part of gallery and be view-able in both places. Forms feeding gallery would avoid any fragmentation or disconnects. Also a place in profile to view "attachments"

Note: VB5 actually works by integrating user "image" content in forums or gallery into one single thing. It's one of the few things I really like about VB5. No more fragmentation or struggle between images posted in forums verses gallery

Hey, what would be the "best" Setting Picture & Video settings?

    1. Maximum image dimensions to save XXX - XX
    2. Maximum image dimensions to display XXX - XXX
    Thank you!

By looking at the URL, and determining what it (and other urls on that same site) starts with and determining the commonality between them. Then drop the http:// or https:// and BOOM...you've got the entry.
Because you've entered it directly via the source method - works fine, and isn't controlled by that setting. But you're not going to be allowing everyone to use source mode, are you? So then you need to allow people to post certain urls...and that is what the setting is for. You then need to provide them with a method in the editor (ie a custom button) to allow them to use iframes.

What exactly are you trying to achieve here, as I've a feeling this is going to go around in circles very soon. The above information has been covered a few times on here, and a search for 'iframe' should pull up any other informaton you need.

No. The date of expire, among other things, like renewal, comes from the package, so it doesn't make sense to allow more than one per advert.
No but I liked it and will add it to 1.0.3.
On 1.0.3, yes. It will be released later this week.
Not possible. Package is required to create the advert. That's not optional.
Not sure I follow. The advert can be renewed if the package allows it.
It uses the review system from IPS4 (star rating). 1.0.4 will have a own feedback system.

@kmk, just tested the issues you posted above and works fine in my dev install:
Not sure if I applied some patch due to bugs reported. Anyway, new version will be released until weekend.

The only drawback regarding the discussion topic is that it is not visible when you visit the advert. I wish it would be like Pages articles where comments from the discussion topic are also visible on the article page and you can comment directly on the article page or in this case on the advert page.
    That would make Classifieds perfect.

    2. I mean if can give option to set up diferent default location, if I am USA, sure I will put United State, but if my members are Panama, I would like have the option to change it.

It seems most pics get uploaded sideways, regardless of how they were take.  This is really frustrating for the users, and kind of surprising there are so few pic options and IPS sells a Gallery add on, which i have for both of my site.
Please add a rotate pic option.

Maybe a bit of an off-topic, but would it be difficult to convert Tutorial database to pages and use this layover? Or even better, use this layout for other apps as well, not only Tutorials, but Gallery, Blogs, etc?

    I completely agree with this.
A good handful of different default templates out of the box would help wonders for new admins to see and understand the power of Pages, and what it can do. As well as save time creating their own pages from scratch, they can cut ideas out of one and paste it into another. Without some hand-holding, it's quite an intimidating application knowing it can do everything but not knowing where to begin.

    Hi all,
Trying to make Pages similar in usability as Joomla, I suggest to include more templates for database, categories and listing templates. The category listing template is really ugly, they're articles, not a blog!
    I suggest to include
    a) The "recipes" and "release notes" should be included as default in every IPB Pages installation. It will not harm to add a lot of ways to show the information.
    b) Category listing should have options like database's  article template  (category 3 column feature image).  Some very nice things were done by users, why dont include them?

    c) Import/Export for data OR move content between databases.
Pages has a lot of potential, good for the admin, but regarding look & feel you must learn template syntax to do something nice.
    Best Regards!

"A different article style" by @TAMAN
I'd like to point out to any IPS representative who might read this topic that v4 has been out for one year, and yet the community has only managed to offer 1 community guide and 1 Marketplace purchase.  There's clearly not enough community support or community innovation for what should be the most extensible app out of the suite, and that creates a steep learning curve for new admins who are uninitiated to Pages.  I think even a handful of article block templates (like 4 - 6 different styles) can go a long ways towards helping non-technical admins put together some amazing pages.
