I agree, as well as some sort of direction or prompt to install PWA on the device.

This ended up being non-recoverable. I ended up moving my sites to a new setup and trying out plesk over cpanel, so far so good.

Thanks @Matt, I appreciate the link. nice features, next level-like.
I plan to stay on self hosted version though and these small changes I've suggested would benefit all of us greatly I believe. It would be kind of you to include what's suggested here since nothing directly is related to what I suggested in the blog entry where self-hosted features were mentioned.
These suggestions would sort of bridge the gap a bit between advanced features of IC5 and current all-or-nothing- IPS4.

If you're wanting to suggest stuff for consideration, make sure it gets posted in the feedback forum.  Otherwise it will be lost forever to the sea of support requests.  🙂

We've built it internally for ourselves and have it kinda working.
Our only challenge is that the way we are doing it (as @JP TTT mentions above) causes infrastructure resource issues due to the long polling that happens on such regular intervals, especially with people who have lots of unread notifications.
(using JS to fetch the member notifications endpoint (/api/core/members/{id}/notifications) and extract the unread count from the fetched result and set it with setAppBadge PWAs function)
We'd LOVE to see this functionality rolled out natively as IMHO, Badge Counts / Notifications are one of the primary and best benefits of PWA Apps 🤓
(Especially now that Apple has finally come to the party recently - it's made companies like Basecamp go all-in on PWA)
It would very likely be one of the highest ROI features for Community Engagement available.
Hopefully it's on the short term roadmap to really complete / round out the PWA capabilities of IPB.

You might be able to do something from the command line with something like:
for i in $(ls /var/lib/mysql/*/*.ibd) do innochecksum -v $i done That’s assuming the path to your raw db files are in that path. Also I would first try to run that command with MySQL offline first. I’m on my phone now so I can’t fix formatting.

It sounds like your mySQL database might have some corruption in it.  You might want to restore it from backup.  Since you can get it back online with recovery mode 2, you can just export the database and rescue the data.
    https://mariadb.com/kb/en/innodb-recovery-modes/
I would suggest immediately dumping the database, andreimport it.  (You could potentially just import it into a new database with a new username/password as well just to be safe.)
Did the server run out of space or was it rebooted without a clean shutdown?  I typically only see that sort of thing happen when mySQL loses the ability to read data that happened to be in the memory buffer before it has a chance to write to the disk.

It would be nice to have AI providers like the ChatGPT, OpenAI APIs as Community Intergrations like Mapbox, Pixabay, Stripe etc, then allow permitted user groups to have an AI button that brings up a text prompt when composing a blog or pages article etc or even a forum/gallery image.

I was going to start a new topic but see this one exists. When you have it checked off for Moderate, it removes the insert link icon from the editor. I checked multiple sites and at first though it was a group setting. Is this by design becuase I don't understand why that would be so.

If you have it on Allow:

    You get it back:

Optimize your forums, guys. Interaction to Next Paint (INP) is an official Core Web Vital.
INP replaced First Input Delay (FID) as the new responsiveness metric. Chrome is officially deprecating support for FID, so developers and site owners have until September 9, 2024, to transition over to INP.

AlexWebsites reacted to Randy Calvert in Having issues adding Adsense
In general, I found with Adsense it's difficult if not impossible to show ads in areas that are not available to guests.
Personally what I ended up doing was showing ads to guests and not to site members as a way to encourage signup, etc.

I was having this issue on some threads on my board, specifically where we talk about music and lots of youtube videos are linked. This plugin helped solve the problem immediately after installing. It seems like all the youtube videos attempting to load at the same time is crashing some memory limit in safari/webkit on iOS

Recently, while administering a large board running IPS 4.x, I saw that there are a lot of performance optimizations already in place which is great.  I also saw a few instances of front and back-end performance issues, and in some cases, outright crashing; one of these boils down to 2 things:
Embedded iframes (like tweets) do not use the deferred loading=lazy attribute, so on topics with many embeds, pages slow to a crawl or outright crash (esp. Apple devices) Embedded iframes seem to point to an iframe loader as a sort of internal proxy, which increases load on the server, particularly for large sites, probably predating loading=lazy I have implemented this optimization here: https://vbresults.com/downloads/speed-optimizations-ip-community-4 — and the IPS team can merge it into the core if they see fit.  I'd like to expand on this by dis-intermediating the iframe where possible, but understand there are other reasons for it like the layout.

I mostly just use responsive tags. If you’ve set specific sizes. You’ll probably not get the best fill/rates. Just a heads up.

I use auto ads and they can sometimes be all over the place, so I would agree. You don’t need GTM for Adsense as you can just put the Adsense tags into the default ad placements.

This wouldn't make sense and would probably be unhelpful in search as those posts attributed to a default single author would actually have been written by multiple people.
I think having no author details is the best thing to do with it.
