    The Marketplace is closing on October 30th 2023. If you haven't already read the announcement, please read it first.
    As our Marketplace prepares to close its doors, we want to ensure a seamless transition for our customers. To facilitate this process, we're introducing a new 'license key' system to allow you to transfer your purchases to the third-party developer website in a privacy-conscious way.
    On the 'My Purchases' page, you'll find an improved layout displaying each resource you've purchased from the Marketplace. This includes the original purchase date, the expiry date (if applicable) and the current renewal term (if applicable).
    Additionally, we've added two new enhancements. First, you'll notice the purchase-specific license key (depicted as XXXX in the screenshot). This license key is accessible to the third party author and can be provided to them through their website or other means. It enables them to confirm your payment for the resource and check its activation status. Secondly, we've added a link to their profile in the Providers Directory (if applicable).

    You can find contact details and a link to the provider's website on their profile. We hope that these additions will help make the transition as smooth as possible.

    Third Party Developers
    Developers can now access the new 'My Sales' area, where you'll find a searchable list of resources that have had sales on the Marketplace. This list may include resources that were previously hidden.

    Clicking on any of these resources will display a list similar to the old 'my paid files.' Here, you'll find detailed information for each purchase, including purchase and expiry dates. Additionally, the list now includes the customer's current renewal term, which may differ from the initial purchase due to pricing changes.
    Furthermore, you'll notice the new license key, conveniently searchable in the top right corner. We've also made the list of purchases available in CSV format, allowing for easy integration into your own website or marketplace.

    Please let us know if you have any questions and we hope these new tools will ease the transition from the Marketplace.

    Yes, the design will not only look different but the way you do themes will be very different. We're pretty close to starting our public v5 blogs/teasers.

    if IPS Staff didn't check if apps/plugins are safe for end user, can you even imagine how many more problems would they have from community owners that used said app/plugin and got hurt by it, even more chargebacks, even more tickets/emails, even more problems.
    Would you want that for your company?

    Luckily we are the experts in seeing usage trends 😉
    Trust me. You have no idea how many problematic things we prevented from being published in the Marketplace over the years.
    PSA: you might want to use multi-quote when doing many replies 🙂

    Why instead of talking about this here, won't you contact authors of apps/plugins you use to find a solution that fits both parties?
    I understand that this isn't something you are happy about but until October there is more than enough time to transfer your purchases from MP to Author's website.

    My question is regarding V5
    Will the design change as much as it did when v4 came out?

    This has been said already and answer will be still the same, if IPS decides to provide even a downloads with links forwarding to authors website, they put themselves in place where they still have to be some sort of middle man and people will hold them accountable if something goes wrong, or demanding removal of such file from downloads.
    It's simply not worth it for them as a business and I fully understand that you should too.

    I admire you in doing so, I'm not saying that this can cause you some problems but I'm also not saying that this will be just a directory, imagine if some developer "scams" client, he will then come to you to find a solution, if you are willing to be a mediator in such scenarios, that's admirable, but I personally wouldn't have time or will to engage with people because of someone else's error.

    Btw, just a note: both extensions are missing in the docs:
    They appear in the overview but they don't have a page to themselves like the others.

    CodePixel got a reaction from Martin A. in Node::load() but with custom column name instead of id
    Update: yes it's possible by doing this:
    #1: Add this to your Node class:
    /** * @brief [ActiveRecord] Database ID Fields * @note If using this, declare a static $multitonMap = array(); in the child class to prevent duplicate loading queries */ protected static $databaseIdFields = array('column_name'); #2: then load node row by custom column like so
    \IPS\yourapp\class\class::load($id, 'column_name');

    Problem solved, all i had to do was unset that value inside formatFormValues function.
    /** * [Node] Format form values from add/edit form for save * * @param array $values Values from the form * @return array */ public function formatFormValues( $values ) { if(isset($values['fa_icon'])) { unset($values['fa_icon']); } return parent::formatFormValues( $values ); }

    CodePixel reacted to teraßyte in [Extension Request] Add an extension for the Account Settings page
    As per title. I was sure there was a core extension to add new tabs in the Account Settings page but it looks like I was wrong.
    I've seen several apps adding new options there and it just seems a good place to have one really. It would make things easier instead of having to go around it adding hooks.

    You can do it via hook. Let me try to find an existing topic showing how to do it.

    CodePixel reacted to bfarber in sending multiple \IPS\core\AdminNotification
    Yes it is possible. As long as $extra is a different value here, it will register as a new notification
    public static function send( $app, $extension, $extra = NULL, $resend = TRUE, $extraForEmail = NULL, $bypassEmail = FALSE )
    That said, it's typically best to follow established paradigms where possible. We may, for instance, make a change in the future that disallows this ability.

    If you open your acp > theme editor > portal > front > browse > topicRow
    Find:
    <div data-ipsTruncate data-ipsTruncate-size='{setting="portal_topic_truncate"} lines' data-ipsTruncate-type='remove' class='ipsType_medium ipsType_richText' > {$topic->truncated( TRUE )|raw} </div> Replace With:
    <div data-ipsTruncate data-ipsTruncate-size='{setting="portal_topic_truncate"} lines' data-ipsTruncate-type='hide' class='ipsType_medium ipsType_richText' > {$topic->content()|raw} </div> Save. That will keep the truncate but show full rich text still.
