Can you make Notices be integrated with Automation Rules?
This will allow us to create event-based notifications to encourage users to perform certain actions (eg. If youre newly registered, you get a notice to post in the Introduction Board.). This can be a powerful notification and tour system.

What's New in Version 1.1.3:
Added ability to guests donate if they have permission in the category. As a Commerce requirement, they will be prompted to create an account during Checkout. -
SammyS reacted to Joel R in Trophies and Medals - Supporttopic
1. When are trophies triggered? I just added 10 new trophies and none of them are being assigned. (Edit: They're assigned when you log back in. I really don't like that. You want trophies to be triggered as the action is being given, to provide immediate feedback to user and keep them excited. If user doesn't receive trophy until next login, they've already left website!)
I think you should follow Automation Rules and add criteria for when action is triggered (eg. next post, next reaction, log in, etc)
2. Bug - when I copy a trophy, the criteria are not copied.
3. Notifications - need to show the actual trophy icon, not a blank user. This is boring!
4. Hide - What does hide / unhide do on member's tab? I can still see hidden trophy on member's tab when logged in as another user.
Also, if you hide a trophy, I think you should add CSS to make entire box red like when hiding something in IPS forums

SammyS reacted to Gill in Mobile App, Progressive Web App (PWA) For IPB
HI GUYS :)
@Morgin @BomAle Here My 2 cents for Apple IOS and PWA :
It Disappointing ios is not supporting push notifications yet . I think in future apple will revise push notification policy again when PWA become mainstream. Bigger companies adopting the PWA apps day by day.
PWA is not just another Buzz word, PWA again transferring the power back to Web Developers which was lost during native mobile app era. I think REST API based apps for IPB not right approach, From developers point of views, it will make mobile apps hard to maintain and compatible with every new version of IPB and updates of hundered of IPB plugins. However PWA just uses Mobile Responsive of Website.
Forums Founders spent both Time and money to make his/her community sustainable. sometime new users like the forums but forget url and browser history deleted,at that time website looses one member ? this same things happened with me many times and may be other members share the same experience.
For iOS users or Android users there is more chances, new users of clients Forum website click on App icons (Installed by PWA ) again than open browser inside the mobile, remember the website URL and hit the enter. No matter whether PWA support push notifications for particular mobile os or not :)
Moreover for just one mobile OS. it is not good idea not to implement for other too. PWA fully supported in Window 10 redstone 4. We can't ignore the billions machine running window 10. Window 10 PWA app would be huge opportunity to keep the website users engage with website. Just imagine clients Forums apps are installed on users PC. Even They don't open browser and enter forum URL, with single push notification you can make users again engage to your website ? More and more adopting the window 10
@Rikki @Matt @Charles
Thanks IPB team showing positive response toward IPB mobile apps, Hope You Guys will make it possible very soon :) You guys just make mobile apps i will buy without see the price Tag and i think other members also do the same :)
Thanks

SammyS reacted to Cyboman in Members Shop ( Support Topic )
As a general suggestion for the reactions points:
I recently saw an input mask in another app, that allows reactions per forum, as well as for the receiver as for the giver. I think this is a very smart idea, because each forum has another significance for the community.
The main benefits of this are:
have different points (positive/neutral/negative) according to the value of each section (you can exclude off topic areas for example, or you can assign different points levels for areas of more or less value) while awarding reactions receivers with points, also award reaction givers. this leads to a complete engagement spiral. members (receivers) are being enticed to create high quality contents, other members (givers) are being enticed to make use of their available reactions (which will again entice more receivers aso) if we could add both reactions points types per forums for each reaction, this would allow us a lot better control about how much points are awarded/deducted, and this leads the community members to prioritize areas for their posts creations, which are most wanted by the community -
SammyS reacted to Cyboman in Bookmarks - Support Topic
When will the upgrade with the announced new templates or settings take place? Just asking, as I will be interested again as soon as there is a compact, minimalistic display of bookmarks. My communities opinion was, that bookmarks only make sense, if they can find each specific bookmark easily and fast again. With more than f.e. 200 bookmarks and a totally overloaded template, no member ever found his favourite bookmarks again.
And my members also like to create complete "bookmark lists" in different "bookmark categories" for other members. Sort of their personal best-of-advices-selections. That's the reason, why categories should have individual descriptions shown on the member profiles, and bookmarks should have an extra field for an individual, personal bookmark note, to enhance the bookmark with personal words...
I suggest, just the BOOKMARK CATEGORY NAME and additionally 2-3 lines text description should be shown for the categories headlines (as a settings option).
And for the bookmarks, just show the original title of f.e. the topic. And have a second text line for editable personal notes, that can identify the tangible content, if the member wishes to add such a note. (as a setting option)
What I'd love to see is something like this:
Thanks.

I read this whole thread but I don’t see any indication that IPS or 3rd party have decided to start working on this despite overwhelming demand. Hopefully that changes soon.

SammyS reacted to Cyboman in Mobile App, Progressive Web App (PWA) For IPB
Adjust mobile design:
Then create the progressive web app (PWA) with common requirements:
My community is begging for an app, and I already lost ~60% of member traffic to Facebook and WhatsApp. Why? Not because my content isn't good enough anymore, but my members use my contents, and afterwards, go on with live messaging/meetings (which is an elemental part in my industry) via Facebook and WhatsApp and I lose control. I can do nothing against it. My competitors don't have contents, but they have active Facebook and WhatsApp groups. The FB/WA messaging functions are way better, and my users require an app icon to remember my site as well as push notifications to their mobiles. Not having an app is blocking my success factors extremely. I'm already considering buying an app development for my WordPress pages (which seems to be cheaper as many developers already did it for the WP platform...), but that would be the point to lose the power an IPS app would have. I'd prefer an IPS app, but I don't have ages to wait for one. We need to speed up any arrangement.
I'd be willing to pay, too!!!

Hi Guys IPB is awesome and far better than any other forum software available in market. IPB team working very hard to implement new feature every month i appreciate their hard work
But now in smartphone world everyone is using mobile devices that have apps to access their favorite content. people don't like first open browser, then type url and then type username, password. Mobile friendly websites are no longer a solution. Forums are facing competition from Telegram groups, discord server, Facebook Groups, Whatsapp Group
@Charles PLEASE HELP US !!!!!
I know it is very difficult to maintain native app. so Now companies use hybrid approach to cut cost for mobile app.
It would be great if IPB team develop the in house Progressive Web app for IPB. IPB theme already mobile friendly so every little to do Just need to implement
1. Service- worker for Offline uses
2. Push Notification for Notifications
3. Login and signup screen (that remember the user name and password)
Here some Key Benefits Of PWA over Native App
IPB4 team already have brilliant javascript developers. I think it would not too difficult for them to do this.
I would like to Pay for this feature separately if it will be developed. It would be Milestone for IPB 4 as compared to other forums software.
Others IPB members if you are agree please vote this feature as much you can and share your's feed back too and don't Forget to Participate in Above Poll Question
Companies Using PWA!!

This is my humble request to IPB team please please develop in house mobile app for IPB others wise our communities websites will loose the competition in mobile app age.
THANKS :)

SammyS reacted to Cyboman in Newsletters
Please create for the club newsletters an optional feature in the group settings. I want to sell this feature ("sendout club newsletters") as a VIP feature.
If a member purchases a VIP membership subscription, he should be allowed to have paid clubs and the newsletter feature. Other members (who are in other permitted member groups) may only create free clubs and shouldn't be able to use this "club newsletter" feature without having a special paid membership subscription.
Please consider this. Thanks.

I can look into something like that, even if it is like a widget ( Not a sidebar one ) and you will pick what category to show,
I will add it to my list and see what I can come up with

This looked like an interesting item at first. Then I discovered it was making a political statement and while that is your choice the end user will have to decide if its something to support. I'm disappointed really because this would have been a nice addon to a new forum design I had in mind. Just thought I would mention it.
