There are some trolls on the board. Your first post I could understand someone giving you a negative rep because you seem impatient in it. But after that, it's just ridiculous. (Now watch, I'll get negative rep for what I just now said.)

I gave you a few + reps to help you out some (except the first post). Someone else is giving you + points too but I don't know who.

    How about...

For packages that are $0.00, skip the part where you select a payment method, otherwise, treat it exactly the same.

Be able to limit how many times/how often someone can purchase the same package. X times in Y period (X = 0 is unlimited, Y = 0 is infinite). Time would make sure that the person can't purchase the same package more than X times in the specified period. Should default to unlimited (which would make the time period ignored). Good when you want to limit a package to once a year or something and the package is only supposed to be good for a few months of usage.

A option to specifically allow a trial of a package (and how long that trial should last.

I had to add this to 2.3.6 and I added the same thing to my 3.0.2 forum two days ago. I have a "My Posts" link on my forum index that returns all threads (well, it's limited to 1,000) that you have participated in. I still have to tweak it a bit, but it works. I converted to IPB from phpBB, so my users were pretty unhappy that IP.Board was missing this feature. When I upgraded to 3.0.2 I can't tell you how many people asked why that feature was missing. I had to scramble to add it back.

Sure would be nice to see this as a stock feature since Invision is already so close. You can view all your posts and see all the threads you've started, but not all the threads you've participated in.

I will submit this mod once I've had a little more time to work on it.

Perhaps instead of automatically sending the person to an answering service, a recording could come online every minute saying to the effect of being able to continue holding or to press 8675309 if they would prefer to be forwarded to an answering service so that they can stop being on hold on the phone but have their call returned if necessary.

I got the e-mail you mentioned today. Thank you for informing me. The original e-mail didn't mention anything about 'fraud review,' so I wasn't sure what was going on. Anyway, thanks for letting me know, it's appreciated.

Perhaps mentioning it in the original e-mail in the future would keep other first-time customers in the know? Just a suggestion. :)

Edit: I tried the skinning forum again and that still doesn't let me view topics. Is it possible I could have access to that area? I would like to see what's available. :)

Hello, I bought the IP Board software approximately six hours ago. I've dug around in the client area quite a bit, but the downloads area just gives an error and the invoice is considered pending. It has a support ticket on it and the ticket number is #597002.

I was expecting to be able to download right away after payment was received, but that didn't happen and I've been checking back since then. This is my first time buying here so I mainly just wanted to know if this is common and if it is, how long it usually takes. I'm willing to wait a day or two if necessary. I would just like to know how long it will take before I can download it, or if there was a problem.

    There's no rush.

I also can't view the skins forum, which was what I was going to go through while I waited. It says I'm not a customer, or if I am that I need to log in with the information I use to log into the client area, but that's what I am logged in with and it still says that. Or do I just need to wait until the above is solved first?

    Thanks!

As Dark Slipstream said, they verify all transactions. During the weekends it may take until Monday, although sometimes someone from management might pop in and handle some of the pending transactions to lighten the load some. I've been a customer for several years now and when I make a purchase or renew a license, I still have to wait. I know you're probably a bit nervous and impatient, but you only have to go through it once per transaction and once it's over with you don't have to worry about it again until you renew (so it's better to renew as soon as you can if you don't want an interruption in your support).

Considering that the prices on the Add Ons hasn't gone up in the past few years, I'd say that the fraud protection has been working, otherwise IPS would have to bump up prices to make up for lost revenue. It's a necessary evil.

    I would like to see....

    Similar Threads
'Search forums' / 'Search threads' boxes being at the top of the pages close to 'Add Reply' etc., as where they are at the footer they get missed by the majority.
View First Unread - (at top of threads) saves hitting the back button and then the small arrow on the forum page to go to the first unread post in a thread
Social Bookmarks - digg, Delicious etc.
    Tags
Google ads (or similar) - with the ability to display adds in a number of places (between say 1st & 2nd post), inside the first post, in the header / footer. above the quick reply etc. All these being controlled by usergroups as to who does and does not see the ads.
When a restriction is in place for a period of time, give a countdown in seconds - saves people clicking the search button time and time again (which probably is a greater load that running a countdown).

    +1 :)

IPS Staff manually screens all transactions to help prevent fraudulent transactions. This should have been noticed after you returned back to IPS after making your payment. Once they verify your payment is legitimate, they will send you another email saying "Welcome to <product_name>".

I know it's probably a pointless thing but it seems to be a bit popular considering how many people seem to like it...

    Display "Member No:" on posts

I know that I like it myself even though there's no real need to know it or show it. But as you can see in there, some people seem to really like to have it. So requesting that it be added back in by default. :)

Wolfie got a reaction from dziner in Forum vs Global permission masks
Not sure if this has been requested or not. I know that many mods make use of permission masks now (such as tracker for example). There are some permission masks that are forum-use only, ie, would never be used except for granting permission to certain forums. So it would be nice if I could specify a permission mask as forum only or being global. That way if I have (say 20) masks that are only used for forum permissions and never for anything else, then I can set them to be forum only and then when fiddling with add-ons, I won't have those 20 to scroll past when toggling the global permissions. More or less like a "hide from add-on apps" type of flag.

If implemented, then it would make sense for all masks (existing and future) to default to global, but the admin (when editing/adding a mask) can toggle it as needed.
