  1. I have downloaded IPB 3.0.4 from the client area and thought I would have a look in the Blog, Downloads and Gallery to see if there had been any updates. Seems I was right, 2.0.4 exists for Blog and Downloads whilst there is also an update of Gallery to 3.0.4. I thought this odd since there has not been an announcement of those releases so I checked in AdminCP under "Manage Applications & Modules" and discovered everything is still up-to-date. Even my board which is still at 3.0.3 is supposedly up-to-date as I type this.

    Whats going on?

  2. Hmm... funny how things work out! After posting above I stumbled upon a way of restricting viewing posts from a certain forum in Recently Added Topics list. In a forum(s) settings set Allow posters to view other member's topics to "no".

This is great for the Trashcan forum where the trashed topic does not get listed in Recently Added Topics and is only readable by the original poster and admin. Wish I had thought/come across this feature earlier!

  3. RobertMidd, excellent idea. Thank you very much!

I have installed it and will check my analytics in a few days to see how it is going.

Out of curiosity where exactly does it show in the source? If I go to the index page and view "source" with my browser I don't see Google's tracking code anywhere?

  4. I like the new look in IPB3 especially for code formatting it is very helpful, see snapshot below:

Unfortunately when it comes to printing a topic the formatting goes awry:

It would be nice if the print feature could retain some of the original formatting because all modern printers should be able to handle this. It is now possible to print straight to PDF so retaining the formatting would be very advantageous...

  5. In IPB 2.x when logging in to AdminCP there was a nice little box with version and build details of IPB. I was wondering if this could be moved from the "Support" tab back to the main AdminCP page and if possible include version details of the other installed modules please?

  6. I also want to see this feature, even suggested having a marker stuck on the other tabs to signify new content was present in that area.

There must be a less intensive and server consuming method of retrieving some basic indication that new content exists even if it means sacrificing detail until the tab is clicked on? :)

  7. Is it possible for admins to delete/change/edit a members watched content? I have a number of members who have out of date email addresses so notifications get bounced, its quite annoying having to delete heaps of these messages from the boards inbox...

Edit: Straight after posting I go and click on the "Action" button and discover I can, "Clear All Watched Topics and Forums..."Sigh...

  8. I don't really want to go through the trouble of warnings before banning. My site has one very strict rule and even though it is clearly explained and shown numpty's keep breaking it so it is an immediate ban. One click to move these naughty people in to the banned group would be wonderful for the admins...

  9. I was hoping in IPB 3.x there would be a nice quick ban feature for administrators. Unfortunately I get a visitors who have no appreciation for board rules or a regular (sometimes daily) basis.

Would it be possible to have a ban option integrated in IPB directly from the forum for administrators please? I was thinking somewhere in the following window would be ideal:

  10. Okay, thanks for clarifying Brandon even if its not a feasible option. Still would be nice though if there was some way around it without driving system resources through the roof...

  11. The trashcan is open to everyone so members can read why their post may have been trashed (if a moderator or admin did it).

If posts from private or "elevated" forums get trashed they are even more noticeable and accessible now...

  12. I just noticed if a member deletes a post they had created (or a moderator/admin deletes a post) to the trashcan it now becomes a new topic and gets listed in the Recently Added Topics window box thing on the index page.

I don't think it should be like this? Would be nice if it can be configured to ignore certain forums (such as the Trashcan) or just ignore split topics/unassigned topics...

  13. Have a look at the image below:

    post-46582-12481701943_thumb.jpg

As you can see it says there are 4 new entries. Is it possible to have it expanded so it informs the user there are x number of new entries in which field rather than having to individually click on the tabs to find out there is a new item? Even having a little icon/mark on each tab to identify that it has new content there would be really handy.

I also noticed under the Members tab after clicking (Mark all items as read) does not mark all new members as having been read. Is this a bug or meant to be as it is now?

  14. I would like to see the old link method used again, it is much easier viewing things this way and I agree a lot of people have no idea using CTRL+Click = a new window or that clicking the middle mouse button does the same thing (if it is configured to do that)

I went to Topics, Posts and Polls and enabled Open posted links in a new window. Whilst this activated the links I have to wait until the whole page (or a large percentage of it) has loaded in the browser before the links can open in a new window. Maybe this has something to do with the Java script being used?...

  15. There is already a bug report filed started by someone else. It seems I am not the only person to have the issue, a few others have reported it. It could be that the personal option on viewing new content since last visit or unread content is just a settings issue but I had been offline for quite some time before coming back which, is what the configuration was set for...
