  1. Normally when I quote I just type out the tags, so I don't pay much attention to that header info. But, looking at the original post, Matt was referring to an issue staying logged in, nothing to do with crashing the mobile browser.
  2. Can you point me to where Matt made that specific quote? I don't know of any instances where the main forum skin crashes mobile browsers...
  3. There's a lot of things we can do with the lofi skin, which of course we will be exploring in more detail. We just need to get everything else rock solid first. Priorities. :)
  4. Oh yeah, if you use sphinx the search is going to be a LOT faster than what you see here. ;)
  5. I'm not sure why you would claim we're not listening to your feedback. Surely you can see that all of the changes in IPB3 since we first unveiled it last year has been driven entirely by customer feedback. We likely *will* expand on the lofi skin and enhance it further. However, we're at a stage where it's not feasible to do that for the very first initial release is all. That doesn't mean it won't happen. There's a ton of things we want to do (literally, thousands I'd say) and we just can't do them all at once.
  6. It's unlikely we will do that for RC2 to 3.0 final. We will likely do it for 3.0.0 to 3.0.1, however.
  7. Quite possibly. When IPB3 was in alpha people asked for all sorts of things. ;)
  8. The "10 latest status" hook was updated in RC2, however we do not automatically update hooks upon upgrade (to prevent breaking customizations you might make) so you will need to manually reimport the hook in the ACP using Michael's steps above.
  9. I like the idea overall. Note that when you report a post, it should take you back to that post (no need to click back to get there) for the record.
  10. No, we are not using Sphinx on the company forums. I've toyed with the idea (I'd have to get those that manage the servers to agree with it, as well) but the majority of our customers use the out-of-the-box mysql fulltext search method and it's usually best for us to keep as close a configuration as the rest of our customers. It helps us to spot issues that affect the majority of our customers quicker that way.
  11. Relevance is then determined by sphinx, though I personally feel sphinx has a slightly better algorithm to determine relevance myself.
  12. You go to System -> Manage User Agents.
  13. Our intentions are to go to final after RC2. That is, unless something drastic happens between now and then. The bugs being reported now are largely isolated issues, or minor issues. There are very very few "major" problems being reported now. As Tom pointed out above, there is always 3.0.1, which we anticipate will be out pretty shortly after 3.0.0 to resolve issues reported in the final. There will always be bugs. We could release RC3, people *will* find bugs and we will fix them, and then what? Should we release an RC4? Say we did - same thing would happen. We'd forever be in RC stages if we don't take the plunge eventually.
  14. "Relevance" is MySQL's determination during a fulltext search. It's not an algorithm we've developed or anything like that.
  15. The term "CMS" has many connotations and implications, which is why we aren't directly calling it a CMS. However, CMS stands for "content management system" and indeed CCS is designed to allow you to manage content for your website. So, take that for what it's worth. ;) The main focus of CCS was to provide an extremely simple user interface to create content (while still leaving powerful capabilities in place for those that know what they're doing), and integrate it with IPB. You'll be hearing more about CCS soon when we start posting some blog entries about it.
  16. As a user, you can override the default mapped skin (the lofi version) at the bottom of the page fyi.
  17. We won't be making any changes like this in 3.0 I'm afraid. ;) Too close to having it finalized to add in changes.
  18. @Wolfie, I'd rather see it as a user-based setting than an ACP setting, but I don't see a problem with adding a setting itself. As for showing the post, that was a design decision. Talk to Rikki.
  19. We pretty much always put our early pre-final releases on these forums in order to test, profile and discover issues that you just can't nail down in a development environment. I mean, I don't have half a million posts and 500 users online on my localhost - it's sometimes not possible to see that there is an issue with a feature until you put it in a live environment. Nevertheless, I think we can all agree that the server move has cleared up the speed issues (which we've told everyone to stop worrying about until final anyways) quite a bit so hopefully this feedback has been addressed now. :)
  20. While in the background another search is performed, this should *not* trigger the flood control for the record. Eh, you CAN already accomplish what you are after, though. You can select a parent forum and all it's subforums. The button was useless if you ask me. ;) No, but you could add in a hidden input field on the search forms to do this. :) Like most any dynamic web application, it's simply a request parameter, so if you supply it in the form then it will be honored.
  21. And to think, we could have silenced you all just by moving the site. In all fairness though, having the site on the other server helped us to really identify a lot of the issues causing slowdowns because we were looking into the speed constantly. We've made tons of optimizations to 3.0 just from debugging and profiling on the other server. If it was running this fast since then, we probably wouldn't have bothered.
  22. A normal search shows result type as post. If you select "search titles only" it shows as a topic. There's an additional setting in the CPU savings to give you the ability to search posts but show as topics (this adds a lot of overhead so it's off by default) if you need that option. You can sort by relevance or date on the results screen. You can search subforums or not by selecting them or not on the advanced form. All 3 of those features are still there. :)
  23. If you post in the peer to peer support forums someone can probably point you to a mod or show you the appropriate edits. As already stated, this functionality is built into 3.0 already. :)
  24. I believe Mark answered the original question. For perpetual license holders, your support contract must be active (that $30/year charge). With the active support contract you get official support from us, access to our peer to peer forums, and full access to the resources at http://resources.invisionpower.com. Note that we may, from time to time, offer additional incentives to active customers to show our appreciation which you'd of course be entitled to as well. If you have any further questions feel free to shoot an email to sales[@]invisionpower.com and they'd be happy to answer. :)
  25. Please report suspected piracy to our piracy department. The link is in terabyte's post. Thanks!
