  1. The change posted changes from 6 images to 5, it doesn't change the position of the hook. To change where the hook shows up, you need to put your board IN_DEV and then edit the hook in the ACP.
  2. Hey, hey, let's back off of Archon Neo. If he wants to wait for subscription manager, it's his prerogative. :) Beta 2 should be released very soon (this week, there is a "soft" release in the customer lounge for those brave customers who wish to try it on their board).
  3. I agree the folders should eventually be merged. Not really a big deal though if it doesn't happen.
  4. With 3.0.1 there were so many files it didn't make sense to do so (it was basically the same as the full package). We will evaluate this again with 3.0.2 and determine if it's plausible then. :)
  5. Matt has been posting regular updates on the subscription manager in the customer lounge, which I realize you can't see. Long story short, he's been working hard at stabilizing many long-standing bugs and tweaking some of the code to provide for some better functionality. The next beta should be out soon. Was scheduled for this week, but Matt started on some bug fixes today he's not ready to distribute yet until he tests them more.

    Documentation?

Get with me later if you want on AIM (you obviously already have my AIM). Can email it to me and we can get it setup on the resource site. Besides, I'll prob have a few questions for you (like why it didn't give you an error :P ).

    Documentation?

I got some php error thrown from phpdocumentor last time I ran it (of course I also had to give PHP like 3GB memory to work with to get that far). I'll run it again one of these days and see. And, as far as sharing, just don't include the source code in the output. I plan on putting it up publicly on the resource site once it's generated.
  8. Glad to hear. :) For chat, you could try AddonChat, or the IP.Shoutbox community project. :)
  9. Shhh. I speak English natively and I didn't really realize there was much of a difference either. ;)
  10. I can't comment on that aspect of it. I know Charles said on previous pages we're looking at options. Perhaps something will surface that will be satisfying to perpetual and lifetime license holders to cover that. :)
  11. The My Assistant help file IS removed for new installations. There's an open bug report about some users not getting updated help files, and we wouldn't DELETE any help files you already had in place. You will need to manually remove it on your board.

    Documentation?

Well, I could spend a day trying to get phpdocumentor working (I have before, unsuccessfully) or I could fix bugs and address support tickets. :) Developer documentation, unfortunately, has to wait until we have the time to address it. Edit - that said, there's nothing stopping YOU from running phpdocumentor on the files of course. ;)
  13. In any case, you can insert the attachments into the post area. The only thing that would show are the attachments, and IPB would allow that.
  14. A license holder is a license holder, yes. And we're being fair across the board. If you hold a license to run IPB, you can run IPB. If your license entitles you to download updates or obtain technical support, we still honor that, and will continue to honor that. However, for perpetual and lifetime license holders, that is all that your license entitles you to. I am really not sure why this seems so upsetting to everyone. You purchased a product that included a license. That license said "you can continue to obtain updates and technical support". That is all that your license granted you. And we are honoring that. The standard license, on the other hand, has a different structure. The fees associated with the standard license cover updates, support, and future services and products IPS may make available. Basically what I'm hearing in this thread is that IPS as a company should not be allowed to offer anything special to standard license holders ever, so long as they don't also give that to (basically) all license holders. I'm just not understanding how, as a customer, you could make that assertion? Let's say Microsoft decided today that they're going to bundle a new service with Windows 7. That service will do something neat that users have requested (maybe a built in anti-virus for instance, and it runs as a service, pulling definitions from Microsoft's servers daily). They are going to let users on Windows 7 use this service for free, but only for Windows 7 users - not for Vista or XP users. You must be using Windows 7 to make use of this new service. Is there honestly a problem with that? Why should Microsoft not be allowed to offer new services to those users without also giving that service away for free to other customers as well? And if there isn't a problem with that, how is it any different than what we are doing?

    Documentation?

There are limitations, namely you can only hook into the software at places it monitors the hooks at. It's not necessarily *easier* to use hooks for the developer. It is for the user, however, which is the main goal. Hooks are retained during upgrades, and don't require the person installing to do code-level modifications to make use of a hook.
  16. Use the peer to peer forums if you need help modifying the software. Was posting a quick example of one way that you should be able to accomplish it - if that didn't work, better to use the resource forums.
  17. Originally I did remove them as they were completed, but (1) this was reported as a bug... and (2) you may want to run them again (or perhaps we fix a bug in the rebuild posts routine and you have to run them again). I personally don't care that much either way. I honestly don't spend much time on my "Rebuild tools" page of my acp... ;)
  18. After var newHost = link.host; add force = true That would do it.
  19. Matt is planning on releasing the next beta tomorrow last I heard. :)
  20. You would need to modify public/js/ipb.js to do that.
  21. Hello, I'm not sure that anyone really answered the question with the answer you were looking for. To upgrade to 3.0.1, all you need to do is download the full 3.0.1 package (unfortunately, there is no "upgrade package" that you can use) and upload all of the files to your site. Then visit http://yoursite.com/admin/upgrade You're not seeing an upgrade package for 2.3.x to 3.0.1 because every single file has changed, so "every file" is in the upgrade pack (thus, just use the full pack).
  22. That second issue is a bug corrected for 3.0.2 - the fix was posted in the bug tracker.

    Thank You

    Glad it went smooth. :D
  24. Unfortunately it's not realistic to do what you are suggesting. It would be nice, yes, but it would mean running the search query for every single application installed (each tab), as opposed to just the tab you are viewing. Running a search for every application installed like that would be a resource nightmare.... As for your other question, yes. We don't use read/unread markers for members (there's no point) so the members tab shows you everything since your last visit, not every member you haven't actually viewed. Even if you mark the board as read, your last visit timestamp doesn't change.
