  1. FYI, think I found why the ampersand wasn't escaped in your browsing and fixed that. We can discuss the session id itself in the bug report.
  2. Actually, this isn't from PHP automatically. IPB 3 was not working properly when cookies weren't supported in the browser, which was fixed in 3.0.4. We'll have to look into why the ampersand isn't escaped, however.
  3. I was only clarifying that this wasn't something removed, as post #3 was implying. Not that we would/wouldn't/could/couldn't/should/shouldn't add it. ;)
  4. Hello, Please note that Invision Power Board is a commercial product and as such, you must purchase a license to use the software permanently and/or obtain technical assistance. You may find more benefits to purchasing a license here. If you are an existing customer, please log into your client center and follow the instructions for upgrading your IPS forums account, found at the bottom of the first page you see. We look forward to helping you!
  5. There's an option in the user's user control panel they can enable for this already.
  6. IPB allows you to disable remotely linked avatars, if it's an issue on your site. If you find an avatar image that is excessive, inappropriate, etc., report the user profile and we'll address it.
  7. Honestly, the "hardest part" is just building the form/interface to assign the theme on a per-skin basis.
  8. Getting the list of files changed between 2 revisions is easy. Matt has a little php or perl script (like Brandon D there) that then formats it into nested bbcode based on the path.
  9. For the record, birthday was not available on registration page in 2.3 either.

We can only include, by default, javascripts that are licensed in certain ways (Creative Commons, LGPL, and MIT licenses are the most common that allow us to use and redistribute with credit).
  11. When realities and wants collide....these are the days of our lives. :(
  12. You have to remove the background-color: inherit line. That's what the - symbol stands for in Charles' post. It looks like that 'fix' didn't make it into the release based on the feedback/tickets I've seen.
  13. We are pulling topics by the date the email notification was last sent, but displaying the last post date (I believe). I'd post this as a bug in the bug tracker.
  14. We've been hard at work on our latest version of IP.Content, as we discussed in our last blog entry, and have been testing it with a small group of beta testers for the last week or two now. We have decided to open up beta testing to all customers with active IP.Content licenses. IP.Content is the new name for Community Content System. IP.Content 1.1.0 introduces support for custom dynamic databases. You can create databases, manage categories, fields, moderators, records, comments, revisions and more, all from within your admin control panel. You can also allow your users to submit, edit, rate and comment on records in databases, with a plethora of other options available on a per-database level. Please re-read our previous blog entry for a more in-depth outline of the new functionality in version 1.1.0. If you find any bugs in the public beta, please report them to the bug tracker. Pricing Since the introduction of IP.Content we have had a special price of just $35 to purchase. When the final version of 1.1.0 is released, the price will change to $49.99 so act now to secure the special price of $35 before the change.
  15. No. There are no "approved mods" to test against. We do not support third party modifications (or hooks/applications) in any way, shape or form. The closest we come to "supporting" third party code is with our community projects, where we are available for the developers to communicate with if they have problems, questions or suggestions.
  16. I just reimported the hook XML. I'm not subscribed to any topics so it's hard for me to say if it's fixed now - can you check? The code appears to be set to order by the notification's last sent date.
  17. We do not expect our volunteers (like Andy) to go through a rigorous performance testing routine for each modification submitted. To put it bluntly - it's not his responsibility. Andy does a good job just looking through the modifications to try to spot any obviously "bad code" (like he said). At the end of the day we don't endorse or support modifications, so any time you use one it's at your own risk.
  18. We will probably at some point communicate the modifications back to the authors, yes.
  19. Exactly. You brought up view new posts kiwi, and that is probably the most resource intensive (or one of the most resource intensive) functions in all of IPB. Running those same queries on virtually 50% or more of the page impressions is just not something we can do and expect the software to run well over all.

    1) This forum is for feature suggestions 2) You're using a custom skin, you should contact the skin author.
  22. It's going to differ between users, yes. We've identified many hooks/modifications that cause problems, so naturally if you have one of those you are going to have a different experience from a user that doesn't.
  23. This sort of hook is a lot more resource intensive than recently added topics. That's the only reason we haven't built an "official" one - we'd then have to support it, including on sites with 10 million posts running on a shared server with 32MB of memory and all that goodness.
  24. If the owner did contact us through the ticket system, we wouldn't be at liberty to share that information, so Mark's statement still stands. We don't really need to divulge whether they have or not. :)
  25. There is no way presently to mark individual items read, outside of actually viewing/reading them. There have been times when this has come up for me too - I've wanted to mark something read without actually reading it.
