  1. Right now we run a special routine to parse out b, i and u tags only. When the feature was originally built we avoided using the bbcode parser to prevent someone from leaving a bunch of crazy bbcode-formatted content on profiles. I'm not really for or against the suggestion myself.
  2. It's not a bug so I wouldn't bother. :)
  3. No, this is by design. If you wanted to change this you would need to modify the ipb.js javascript file.
  4. Hello, Please note that Invision Power Board is a commercial product and as such, you must purchase a license to use the software permanently and/or obtain technical assistance. You may find more benefits to purchasing a license here. If you are an existing customer, please log into your client center and follow the instructions for upgrading your IPS forums account, found at the bottom of the first page you see. We look forward to helping you!
  5. No, not really.... There are a few important bugs, but they are, generally speaking, not bugs that affect everyone. Then there's a few javascript glitches, most of which have been worked out. 3.0.4 has been relatively stable with few "big" issues.
  6. I believe he's referring to this bug report, which I fixed this morning. http://community.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=tracker&showissue=19422&hl=upload
  7. This functionality is already included in Gallery (and has been for years). :) You can specify max/medium/thumbnail dimensions independently in Gallery. The attachment manager in IPB is a different function, and can NOT restrict images based on dimensions at this time.
  8. We are working on 3.0.5. We have no specific estimated delivery date yet, however. Generally speaking, we avoid giving deadlines or dates.

    Custom Stats

I think this would be too difficult to code as a generic feature "out of the box" if you ask me. It's certainly doable in a more specific fashion (i.e. as a custom modification), graph and all.
  10. I kind of like the idea of aliases. I think a more generic, but more usable approach, would be to allow "favorite forums". A user would create a category in their user cp, then add forums that they want to that category. So you would do this manually, if you wanted (or the next person could just add their 3 favorite forums into a category and only have that on the homepage). There's a lot of consideration that would have to go into a feature like this though. Admin-defined forums that can't be hidden comes to mind.
  11. Exactly - you CAN make them skin based. MOST admins don't need them skin based, which is why by default they aren't in our base release, but you can easily manage them per-skin if you prefer.
  12. I wouldn't be against adding a setting to report manager that if something is flagged x times it goes into mod queue. I wouldn't want it at 1 (some people could report something for no reason, or just because they dislike the member, or don't know what they are doing), but maybe 2 or 3 (admin-configurable is best option).
  13. I do know there was SOMETHING going on with subscriptions and validation - Matt got a ticket about it in our ticket system and I believe worked out a fix for the next release of the subscription manager. That's slightly different to normal functionality.

  15. Members can change this in their usercp. You could modify the registration process to set this field to 1 on registration (instead of default 0) similar to your first suggestion DawPi (instead the field is auto_track I believe, but I don't know for sure that it's a 1/0 field exactly).
  16. IP.Raichu is due out any month now. (My son love Pokemon/DigiMon/Backugan/Yugioh/Chaotic/any other game there is)
  17. Quite frankly I think too many people underestimate Google. It's not like this is year 1 of their attempt at indexing web sites. They know pretty well how to handle the indexing by now. ;) Not against the canonical tag and it's not that hard to do, just saying I don't think it's likely to make a huge amount of difference in the end.
  18. Ok great. :) I haven't sifted through all the IPB bugs reported lately so I wasn't sure from this topic if it had been reported or not yet.
  19. IP.Content is very new, which is the reason for the lack of documentation. I've been slowly adding articles at the rate of about 1 every other day for the last week or two. Over time it will certainly build as long as I can keep it up. :)
  20. Did you find a bug in IP.Board? If you believe you've found a bug please post it to the bug tracker. Be sure to post bugs in the bug tracker. That's where we work from while correcting issues for upcoming releases.
  21. I'm glad the information helped. :) And yes, the system is working as intended. We DO allow validating members to login (in fact, there should be a special "Resend validation email" for such members), but they are generally restricted until they vaildate their account (they are in a special group you can fine-tune via manage groups in the acp). The primary reason they aren't auto-logged in is we present them with a special page that tells them they need to validate their account. I'm not against allowing them to be logged in right away, but 99% of the time it's not needed. They'll register, leave the site to go to their email, click the link in their email, and they'll then be registered and logged in, so the process is relatively smooth for most users when they follow normal work flow. If this is the case, yes. With validation off, users should be automatically logged in upon registering.
  22. I did not have any special meaning with the use of the word "enterprise". I only said that to distinguish between the package we intend to offer, and any sort of self-hosted package in the future (which I assume, at this point, would be a "bigger" or "more inclusive" package by nature of the request).
  23. I said this in a topic in the feedback forum as well, but I'd like to reiterate that it makes us all so proud that so many of you are enjoying the software. Given that we do not generally remove negative feedback from these forums so long as it stays within the forum rules, and that the number of positive feedback topics is so heavily outweighing the number of negative feedback topics, it tells us we're moving in the right direction, and gives us confidence that we should keep moving in this direction. Thanks again for the positive feedback. :)
  24. Not exactly. IP.Content was 100% coded from the ground up, without using any code that was in the Nexus/Dynamic packages. We blogged about our decision to put Nexus on hold (CBA to go find it right now) at the time. We feel that our time and effort is best suited at this specific moment to enhancing our community line, and we may or may not at some point in the future revive Nexus/Dynamic. That's the best I can really tell you.

    Login issues?

IPB allows you to enable multiple login methods, and you can decide on a per-login-method basis if you want to use username or email address. Right now we have the internal/default login method, which uses username, we have converge which uses email, and we have openid all enabled. Because internal uses username and converge uses email, the form has to allow you to enter both. On MOST forum installations, you'll have one method enabled, and only be asked for the data for that specific method (username OR email). If you are a long-time customer, you would have a proper "username". That is, if you registered before we applied Converge to our site, or if you register here directly. If you first purchased the package through the client area, however, your username is actually your email address behind the scenes. I know it can be a little confusing, but it's mainly due to our specific setup, and you wouldn't normally experience this confusion on your own site. :)
