  1. Ah, so it's yet another topic about you wanting to use javascript in code in the editor.
  2. Many people who shouldn't turn it on, will. It's too much of a support issue for IPS. Sorry, but despite your own personal perceived need of this, it's not likely to happen at any time soon.
  3. I'm not sure what information you're looking for. On this site, support is only offered to folks with an active support contract either in the peer-to-peer support forums or by opening a ticket in your client center. If you do not have an active support contract, or you're not the alternate contact of someone with such a contract, then there is no support offered here for you and you'll have to look elsewhere for an answer to your question. If you need more information than this, then I suggest you contact Invision Power Services using one of their published contact methods.
  4. Don't try to remove it. If you stop the editor from stripping out javascript (that's not called "parsing" it, by the way) then people will be able to post javascript code on your board, and all hell will likely break loose. It's a major security risk.
  5. No, it's gone if you've actually deleted it. The only way to restore it now would be if you had it in a backup.
  6. I agree wholeheartedly with this. I ran into similar problems while trying to throw together an AdminCP application last week. The application was visible in the My Apps dropdown, and the URL looked correct, but clicking it would lead to the same issues you were seeing on the board: directed back to the index page with the application part of the URL stripped off and no error message. Without seeing what the problem is, it's hard to fix it.
  7. They didn't "leave anything out", they explained what the issue is: some of the text there comes from the components, not language strings. The language abstraction in the Admin CP is exponentially better than it was in the 2.x series, I think people should be getting off IPS's back about this. If you simply state what the issues are, they can look into fixing them for future releases, but you guys chose to toss out words like "ridiculous", "useless" & "not professional". As a developer myself, I can tell you that's about the worst way to try and get support for your issues. I agree that I think it would be something that would be good to look into for the future, but seriously guys, you make it sound like this is the worst thing in the world, when clearly it is not.
  8. Everything in the database is essential. In almost every case I've come across where someone tries to just take out parts of their database, they end up corrupting it and have to start everything over. It's not worth it, just use all of the tables that are already existing.
  9. You access it through visiting xml.php instead of index.php in the URL. So the XML skin for the board index here would be: http://forums.invisionpower.com/xml.php

    PM undefiend?

It's a well known issue, reported several times in the bug tracker.
  11. Maybe you can change your password after the fact to be just one character or a blank space, but you certainly cannot register an account that way. I know the code for the registration system pretty well, and I verified that it does check the password length there, and I have also tried to register at a 2.3.6 board with a single character password, and was told "The password section is incomplete". EDIT: Looking at the code now for changing a password, I do see that yes, you can change your password after the fact to a single character. So you're part right, I guess. Although why anyone would do that is beyond me.
  12. No, it didn't. 2.3.6 also required at least three characters for the password.
  13. I had a mod for IP.Board 2.2/2.3 that did this that will be updated for IP.Board 3.0 eventually. Until that happens, the extra junk in the database is, for the most part, not really a huge issue. If there's nothing in the source files that calls on that extra data, then all it's doing is sitting there unused. Yes, it takes up a little extra room, but that's not the end of the world. Most files that are no longer present in the default IP.Board 3.0 structure are safe to remove once you upgrade, just be sure to back them up just in case.
  14. Support tab, under the Diagnostics section.
  15. Doesn't the 'Permissions Checker' tool already do this?
  16. I told you the same thing...
  17. Do you mean it isn't showing in the blog forum on the board index? It's probably a task that imports that, we just have to wait for the task to run.
  18. Sounds like a good idea for a skin contest skin, this bugs me too.
  19. I believe they said back on the preview board that there was some way to localize those. It should look for a certain format of a language string and use it if it can find it, otherwise it falls back on the public title you put for the app. *Rummages through the source code* It looks like if you set a language string in this format, it should work: APPDIR_display_title Replace APPDIR with the application's directory name.
  20. For #3, I think he means add actual new tabs at the top, not just add new items to the My Apps dropdown. I think it's fine like it is, as more tabs could mean you'll run out of horizontal space for those tabs when you have more apps installed.
  21. You can post in the peer to peer support forums like bfarber said.
  22. There is one already, but it is available to customers only: http://forums.invisionpower.com/forum/419-ip-board/
  23. Same here, although I never had a problem playing WoW with the touchpad. I stopped playing around level 55 or so though.
