I REALLY appreciate you taking over this incredible plugin. I hate to have to report an issue after the update, but on my forum, the 'Questions & Answers' section is not working correctly.

I can click into the section, it shows all the threads, but when I click on a thread, I get the following error:

I went into ACP and disabled Members Shop, went back to my 'Questions & Answers' section, clicked a thread, and it opened just fine. Any idea what could be causing this?

    Thanks.

You should define your sever first. E. g. it is 1. Forum. Follow the guide to set up server on forum, then create clients on 2. Blog and 3. Page. Disable all other login methods on the clients and do not allow registering. While configuring clients you will be able to define what should happen to the data that does not exist on the client or differs from the server. You can also set up the login behavior, so that login is not presented on the client if the user logged on the server. As Administrator, you will always see the login form, so you should check it with a user account.

What would be the copyright issue?  It's a video section and any copyright issue for any video web site would apply to videobox.  Are you thinking like an adult tube site which scrapes content from other sites?  Videobox isn't going to scrape content for you.  Either you add the content or your users do.  If your users add content which is illegal, yeah you might have a problem - it's illegal content added to your site. There is a youtube plugin to add youtube videos, but that's legal as long as you are approved by youtube - if they audit your site.
With youtube you have a very limited amount of videos at first.  You have to apply for an increase which will result in an API compliance check where you have to explain to youtube that you're not building an app, but just using a plugin someone else created.  They want to know everything.  It's a real pain.
Yes, it works with the latest version.

It's a shame about Spanner, this was a great integration and it was free.  What a nice guy to do all that work to help people.

I'm sorry for leaving you hanging without a more specific reply.
If you're upgrading from 4.4.x the current release will work for you without any issues. If you're looking to install the application on 4.5, then you'll need to wait for the next update. The biggest change with the 4.5 release is how data is stored since it no longer meets the Marketplace guidelines (which is why I haven't yet been able to mark it as 4.5 compatible).
An official '4.5' version is still coming though.
As usual, if you have any issues you're still more than welcome to submit a support ticket on my site for assistance.

Would it be possible in a future release to have a WYSIWYG text area above the choices?
Some people signing up might be confused about the group choices.  Having an area which I could put HTML, text, etc there would be helpful in making sure people selected the correct group.
Another idea, something that might be really interesting - separate redirects depending on which group was chosen.  If the person signing up chose the "blogger" group, I could enter the blog address and that's where they would land after signup.  Using this with pages, I could have the an actress group go to a pages page with description of what to do next after signing up... just an idea.

This is a “must have” application. Without it, 4.5 is a no go!  🙅‍♂️

A hybrid approach works for many people. You use ads, but then you allow subscriptions which remove those ads.
(I'm not sure if you're doing that already or not)

Stuff still changing, plus the new MP stuff in the last beta or two means this is still plugging along - plus all the other stuff to upgrade.
I dialed back the new noise in the plugins/app pages, plus swapped out the warning icon for an asterisk on non-MP stuff.

    The work continues...

I don't think you fully comprehend what's going on here.... The bot is attempting to access a FILE that lives on your server.  Should that file be found, IPS would be none the wiser because your SERVER would deliver the requested file before IPS knew of the request.  The ONLY reason you're seeing these errors is because the file WAS NOT found and the IPS .htaccess rewrites are funneling the unfulfilled requests into the IPS software.  Where IPS proceeds to log the error you see.
This has to be handled at the SERVER level.  You simply can't ask IPS to manage file access on your server for you when the only reason they are seeing the requests is because they failed in the first place.
Being on a shared host, you're going to be at the mercy of what the hosting company will install on their servers.  This is a common thing that happens every day all day.... If you have a server with SSH open on port 22, you better believe that some bot is attempting to log into it at least once every few seconds.  fail2ban is a wonderful tool there.  What you're experiencing isn't any different.  A bot is attempting, for lack of a better term, to brute force finding files by specific names.  Any backups you take, don't put them in a web-accessible area on the server, and don't leave them there longer than necessary.
Now, these logs are stored in the IPS DB.  You can certainly write your own CRON job that will auto-fill an .htaccess ip deny file to stop these bots at the SERVER level. Because thinking IPS can block them, should the bot guess a valid file name, is simply wrong.  It'd be an extremely false sense of security.

Ok, ban the IP within IPS.  It's NOT going to stop the requests for files on your server.  You just won't see it in your IPS logs anymore.  The requests will continue to happen unless the IP is blocked at the SERVER level, or at least your account on that server.
You're mistakenly thinking a ban within IPS would do any good in this scenario, it won't.

Been a few months hasn't it. I'm sure nothing at all has occurred anywhere during this time that was in anyway distracting at all.
    Anyways...
Do NOT use Spacious ACP with the new 4.5.0 as there is a conflicting hook that will bork your ACP (remember how Spacious linked the entire list element of an ACP menu option instead of just the text to make it easier to navigate all these years? I'll give you no guesses what 4.5 now does natively :) )
There is, as usual, other stuff Spacious has done that's been incorporated into the revamped 4.5 ACP, so I gotta rip stuff out and so on. But with change comes new opportunities, etc. etc...
New stuff, new options, as per usual, will be in the mix when this is out - should go without saying that the next version will be for 4.5 and up exclusively, so no upgrading to it if you are sticking with 4.4.10 or lower.

Let's say I have no php skills, would you be able to create a tool that could move all bounced emails to a new group and remove all of their email notifications?
    That would be beyond amazing.
I am using SMTP from my own server.  I currently have over 500 bounced emails I am processing one at a time.  I go to their preferences, uncheck all of the email notifications, then move them to a bounced member account.  It's a bit of a pain.
