  1. Nice plugin. All of those can be enabled by default with the AdminCP with the exception of the Recent Visitors Block. I've just been enabling manually whenever I come across it, lol.
  2. Nathan is right. In the CKEditor, click Source to enter "HTML mode" and then do what you want. Click Source again to return to the normal CKEditor.
  3. Are you the only one who will post the Gumlet videos? If so, try giving yourself permission to post HTML, and then use the embed code provided by Gumlet.... <iframe width="1200" height="675" src="https://play.gumlet.io/embed/{{asset_id}}" title="Gumlet video player" frameBorder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; fullscreen"> </iframe>
  4. No way. Courses is a relatively newer feature for Invision (Cloud only). All of the worthwhile competition community services also offer courses. Expect to see this remain and probably tweaked and developed even more.
  5. Do you mean "How do I download a backup copy of my database?" If you are self-hosted, your Admin Panel will be able to generate a backup, whether that's CPanel or DirectAdmin. If you are cloud-hosted, you can request a backup from the boyz at Invision.
  6. Create Pages for Terms, Privacy, and Cookies and change the links in the setting to point to those Pages instead?
  7. Use a custom HTML block? Use the WYSIWYG editor with a "Add Table" add-on from CKEditor?
  8. We do this on our one community. We have a group called "Former Members" for those who want to make it known that they have left.
  9. Amazing. Now the question remains... will there be anything left for theme creators? lol.
  10. You should have a clearly worded DCMA Takedown Policy. You are a service provider and you can be protected from the actions of your community members.
  11. You just confused the snot out of me, @Joel R lol 😄 This would be horrible in any of my communities. The last thing I need is a new member making one "helpful" post, and suddenly being crowned an expert, and then the rest of the time they are crazy or off their meds posting all sorts of wild stuff. Community Experts would naturally be seasoned individuals with a pattern of helpfulness. I can think of who these individuals are on my communities already. Sounds like when certain metrics are met, the Admin or Staff is notified and then the person has to be invited. They can accept the offer to be a community expert or not (gleaned from the use of "opt-in", above).
  12. Can you set the domain "DEF.com" to forward to "ABC.com" at your registrar? I know GoDaddy supports this. Alternatively, you can use a PHP redirect. Have your DEF.com/index.php file contain the following... <?php header("Location: https://www.ABC.com"); exit; ?>
  13. I will say there was absolutely nothing appealing about the previous Community in the Cloud plans. Low storage rates, penalties for too many online users, etc. But the new plans that give you gobs of storage and remove those limits, plus the new features like Who's Viewing, Live Topics, and Courses make the current plans very appealing. If I was on an old plan, I wouldn't hesitate to upgrade. But I'm a self-hosted fan so what do I know? 😄
  14. Use Web Archive.... https://web.archive.org/web/20201229123459/https://invisioncommunity.com/buy
  15. This plugin for IPS 4 does the trick.... https://bbcode.it/downloads/change-post-author/
  16. You would have to edit the template code somewhere. I forget the current IPS template language at the moment, but it would basically be something like this.... If logged in --> display avatar. else --> display something else You can dig around in your templates and probably figure out the template code.
  17. I can confirm that Back 2 Top 1.0.2 by V0RT3X still works on the latest version if IPS 4.7.xx. We have it installed on our communities.
  18. For right now, we leave Paste a Rich Text on. We call our dark theme "Dark Mode Beta (buggy)" and when a dark theme user complains to a light theme user, we kindly correct them that they are the ones using the buggy theme, and if they keep it up we will remove dark mode altogether, lol. By far most of our users use our default light theme. Hopefully this gets fixed in V5 with it's new click of a button dark/light CSS sorcery 😄
  19. Frustrating isn't it. My Light Theme users complain complain when Dark Theme users paste white text. My Dark Theme users complain when my Light Theme users paste black text, because they can see any text at all unless they highlight it. It would be wonderful if "paste as Rich Text" could strip the background color and the text color so that they are just default 'automatic'. You can switch from "paste as Rich Text" to "paste as plain text" in your AdminCP, but if you have users like I do who compose and format messages in an offline word processor, then they will complain when they are unable to paste their compositions with all the formatting they applied to it.
  20. I know this feature is sadly going away in v5, but I feel compelled to report this bug anyway. I'm going to call it a bug because I run 2 separate communities, and both installations of Invision have this issue. When Replying to a Status Update, after hitting Submit, the button will fade and read "Saving..." and it will just hang eternally. You have to give it a few seconds to trust that it may have been submitted, and refresh the page in order to confirm that it has. It's actually been this way for years and I should have reported it earlier. But I kept forgetting about it until I started a 2nd community and noted the same behavior.
  21. But don't all the other forum platforms pretty much behave in this manner also? I've never seen another software provider with a "Marketplace". They usually just have a forum developers announce/share their plugins and users comment on them. I imagine something like the current Marketplace Forum will remain here and simply be renamed. How does this change exactly? Developers could always charge what they want to. There have always been limited devs experienced with this platform. I can count mine so far.... 4
  22. Are you saying this fixed it? Linguistically this makes sense. First the User validates (via email), and then the Admin validates.
