    Hi @Matt,
Can you comment on why trending content and similar content suggestions is only available for $549 / month and not on the Creator Pro plan or on a modular basis? And do you plan any changes of the price system here?
I am a generally satisfied cloud user so far and for many years, but it does not feel good to be excluded from such features.
    Thanks,
    Markus

Things can change, but looking at our 'things to blog' queue, there are 2 cloud only features (talked about here before) and 3 all platform features (two not talked about at all but one of them is a very popular request). We also have a fairly big thing in the pipeline that is all platform.

Hi Markus, we will continue to evaluate which features best suit each package. We have tailored our packages to suit the different styles and levels of community needs. We are not looking to offer features on a module basis at this time.

    Hi Matt,
usually you don't reply to my posts, I still write 😛
To put something like two new blocks of "trending content" in a $549 package - I'd be ashamed. Already $149 is a lot, but still somehow justifiable for ambitious projects. Developing AI image moderation and object tagging, that I understand as a challenge, but not two blocks of "trending content".
And what I also still don't understand: Technically your focus is still on the forum, the gallery hasn't had a major update in a very long time. Is the AI supposed to help moderate photos in forums, where they should be blowing up most threads? Or maybe something is still happening with the gallery?
    Greetings from Berlin

Nice feature but i join all what it was said, is should be a native feature on all plans, cloud or self.
+1 for the feature -1 for the restriction

How is this different than the "Popular Now" block available for Pages?  "Popular Now" merely looks at topic views or replies but not reactions?
It seems like this would be similar, except maybe it has enhanced weighting of various factors (replies, reactions, etc) to gauge what is "Trending".  Not sure why you'd reserve this for the highest level of pricing, conceptually I would think someone could code a custom add-on/widget that applies configurable weights to classify their own definition of "Trending" (site owner defined) relative to topics and likewise embeds that where desired.
Like the idea, just not fan of the restriction, unless there's a lot more going on here that I could be overlooking and is enterprise level complexity.

Interesting article but I think there needs to be a better way to call attention WHO a feature is applicable to or perhaps the blogs should be split between self hosting or Cloud or Business & Corporate/Enterprise plans.
Landed on this page and saw the minimum version 4.7.0 - figured that was me started scrolling and didn't read the first paragraph and get to the part to go to your ACP and nothing...
Perhaps your Version numbers should include a suffix:
4.7.0 Corporate/Enterprise 4.7.0 Business 4.7.0 Creator 4.7.0 Creator Pro 4.7.0 Self-Hosted 4.7.0 Platform ( all clients )  It has to be in the headline so we know the target audience. 🙂

I don't believe any gaming communities outside of developer/publisher/merchandiser forums would actually be able to afford to use given the restriction to business & enterprise cloud plans

Improving PageSpeed needs a layered approach. There are many things you can do with your server configuration (Invision Community Cloud and Enterprise customers need not worry about this, our cloud platform is optimised already). Sending CSS/JS as gzip, ensuring gzip encoding is on, consider using a CDN to speed up delivery of assets, etc.

Software side, we continue to make improvements. We have a plan for re-engineering how javascript and CSS is compiled to make the file sizes smaller.

Just keep in mind that a community platform is much more complex than a simple website, or Wordpress site. A community platform deals with user generated content, which means dealing with external assets such as YouTube embeds, images, GIFs and more.

SEO remains central to our development plans.

Outside of PageSpeed, we continue to improve with JSON-LD, sitemaps and more.

What about SEO? There will soon be ranking factors in June that the forum software is currently failing - especially speed on mobile.
Will we see an announcement in our client area / ACP when the new version is available? I haven't seen anything.

It would be nice if they could mark x amount based on a group limit as some solutions can be spaced over multiple posts.

Hi @Matt, tell me is it possible to change the language of the image search to any other? I can see that the Pixabay API supports this.

@Joel R These are great! Thanks for sharing. 😀
Personally, I drop #10 from the list.
These days, many admins see Google as their Achilles heel. Yes.
But, Google could be your BEST friend.
If you focus on Google ... if you spend time improving on site SEO ... you could come out GROWING.
    Let me offer an example...
Heather lost about 70% of her organic traffic in the past few years due to all the Google Algorithm Updates. Heather has thousands and thousands of topics. For this purpose, let's put this number at 100,000.
On avg, Heather lost about 100 visits (avg) per topic /wk just on her top 10,000 topics.
That's 1 million visits LOST per wk!
Questions Heather should be asking herself...
How many NEW CONTENT would I have to create to get back 1 million visits per wk? 10,000? 5,000?
How long will it take to complete?
How much would this cost me (money, time)?
FACT: If you seen a drop in organic traffic and didn't do anything about it's likely it will continue to decline.
FACT: Google is FREE. It takes work but it's worth it when done right.
    Soooooooo .... Don't ignore Google.
Oh, by the way - Heather decided to focus on Google + New Content. Heather is now GROWING organic traffic despite the latest January Core Update.

    Few things:

Get a picture of Vardy celebrating a goal. We humans tend to look for faces when scrolling. Also Vardy is Leicester's most well known player.

You could A/B test two headlines:

    1) Is Vardy leaving the Foxes? Discover all the latest rumours and news on LCFC's #1 supporter community.
    2) Who is coming to the King Power Stadium this summer? Find out on LCFC's #1 supporter community.

You're then be using language that Fox fans will instantly recognise (this is called signalling) and the intriguing titles make you want to click the link to find out.

I would also consider making the link go to a landing page which has a mix of your best authored content and community content. Don't just dump them into the forum index as people will likely bounce right back out again.

    Google prefers parameter pagination:
BTW: I lost a lot of rankings/traffic after upgrading to 4.4. - but this may also be caused by the last major google algorithm update. At the moment it is quite frustrating.

Just to note, we decided to go ahead and support lazy loading for external embeds like YouTube too for 4.4. Most embeds (Facebook, Twitter etc.) already lazy loaded because they routed through a local URL, but external embeds will also lazy load now. You're welcome, @Mr 13 🙂
