Is this a likely addition to 4.5?
I agree it is much needed.

We profile and refine our code for major releases, 4.5 is no exception and does contain performance related changes.

AdSense has announced a new version of auto-ads with a lot more control options. Any experiences with this?

I use the mediation app in Ezoic which allows me to still run my own adsense through the Ezoic bid system. However I've only make a few dollars though adsense as it is nearly always outbid by the premium ads through Google's display network through Ezoic.
You can manually place the Ezoic placeholders so you have full control over their positioning.
You make considerably more revenue through Ezoic, however it considerably slows your site down too. If you have a static site (non IPB) you can use their caching and site speed functionality where it wouldn't be an issue.

With an option to moderate changes I would start using the wiki functionality. I think this has a lot of potential.

I started using the wiki mode, please release something it seems a serious problem. 

I have figured out that there is no meta description for the links with /page/XXX at the end
topics http://www.example.com/forums/topic/17589-whatever/page/XXX article comments http://www.example.com/articles/category/article/page/XXX blog entry http://www.example.com/blogs/entry/17589-whatever/page/XXX and so on I have lot of pages where Sign in... and menu structure is taken into description by Google instead of the content of the page. It looks messy in search results and does not attract users to click. 

Can you please shed some light on what all you have done for W3C Validation, maybe a new topic if its too much to share, as that can help others too.

Good point, to avoid a waste of the crawl budget, it would need to update the sitemap by removing the noindex topics, could you add this @DawPi ?

Does the sitemap also take that into account?

Hi there.  I was invited to Google several times over the last year as part of a group of Publishers and one of my major take aways is that AMP is a big deal in the Google sphere. Both for SEO and monitization. 
Does IPB have any intention to make topics linked from Google Search on Mobile, AMP friendly?  It would be a huge win speed wise and SEO ranking wise, relative to their mobile first approach. Same comment on Pages.
WordPress is killing us since they have a plug-in to bring AMP to their pages with relative ease. Many of my competitors use both that and YOAST quite successfully.

Grammarly and CKEditor do not play well, and we received several bug reports about the same issue(s) related to how Grammarly modifies the DOM within an editor. In short = yes, there was an issue (or a couple of very related issues), and there was no way for us to resolve this outside of disabling Grammarly in the editor.
It may return when we reach a point where we can upgrade to CKEditor 5. It is my understanding that the CKEditor devs and the Grammarly devs are working together on maximum compatibility, but won't be backporting that to CKEditor 4.

The more pages you send to Google to crawl, the more pages Google has to split its resources over. Google will have a finite "crawl budget" for your site - how much resources it will spend crawling your site. If you send Google a ton of links to crawl that are low quality, you ultimately take resources away from Google crawling your higher quality content. You will find that as usual, it's quality over quantity.
You are incorrect about profiles not being included in the sitemap (there is an option to toggle it off in the AdminCP - make sure it's enabled).

I was of the same thought that the more you index will correlate to more traffic, but it just isn’t so if the content is not quality. Pages with what google sees as not valuable content (empty profile pages) can get dropped and if they don’t, don’t rank for anything good anyway. IPS default sitemap does include profile pages but excludes ones with no content, which I think is better. You don’t want spiders wasting time with pages that have no valuable/ranking content.
However, I do think some forum pages are not getting crawled for some reason and it’s likely due to content not being of value to Google or spiders not getting there. I also think older topics get ranked less than newer ones.
One thing I know works is to have well written topic titles, which in turn are your page title tags. I’ve edited many topic titles and have seen them rank better afterwards.
