    Sure.
First, create an image attachment in the editor by choosing the file from your hard drive. then click on it, so the image is added to the post content. Then double-click on the image. In the dialog box, replace the content of the URL field with your target URL.

    THANK YOU!!!
I feel as if I've actually evolved.
Maybe not into another species of small primate with a higher intelligence level, but DEFINITELY into one with a lesser cognitive defect and a traumatic brain injury that is healing remarkedly well for the degree of blunt force damage it sustained - don't ask, it was a tragic event involving a slow loris and a mouse lemur (both of ill repute) as well as a capuchin monkey with one eye and a limp.
I'd rather not talk about it.
    THANKS!!! again for the help.

For the record, @Patham, there is no such thing as a silly question. Everyone has different abilities when it comes to forum software and the internet in general. The only way to learn is to ask as many questions as you can. I find myself asking questions performing certain functions purely because something I had to do when releasing one community, I didn't do until years later when I created another community.
Glad you found a solution in the end though.

media reacted to NexusMods in Badge stats regeneration uses excessive database resource
    Hi,

We've been having issues every 6 hours when the badge status cache expires and they regenerate. This causes our (rather large) DB to hit 100% CPU and the forums become unresponsive.

Looking into this, the issue is that multiple threads will try to get the badge stats at once when they expire: \IPS\core\Achievements\_Badge::getBadgeStats()

We have approximately 40 concurrent requests trying to regenerate these stats every 6 hours.

As a work around, we are temporarily updating the stats expiration while we re-generate the statistics, this results in it only running once per 6 hours (instead of 40 times)

    if( !isset( $stats['expiration'] ) OR time() > $stats['expiration'] OR !isset( $stats['badgeCount'][ $this->id ] ) ) { // Write the old stats back to the store while we regenerate them $stats['expiration'] = time() + 60; \IPS\Data\Store::i()->badgeStats = json_encode( $stats ); $stats = NULL; }

This isn't 100% related to the first message, but also not enough to warrant a new topic, imo.
The homepage canonical is set to the url without the forward slash at the end, which looks to be the case for all Invision Community homepages. I don't believe it influences indexability, but thought it was worth sharing.

We have released a patch to address this issue. Please go to AdminCP > System > Support and apply the patch from the first/top left box. If you do not see an option to install the patch, you already have the latest release.

I've disable everything Facebook in our community, the only that is left is the social icon directing users to our FB page. It became such a hassle, login with FB, Promote to FB, just a PITA.

    Proper way to exit:
Give info to your customers before even leave the seen... Properly transfer your script to a new coder that can continue service.

This is exactly the reason I tried not to buy any 3rd party application. You buy one and suddenly the owner/coder disappears without any notification or warning...
    This is ridiculous and SAD...

You won't be able to place ads anywhere on the Live Topics UI. The advertisement system has had an update for v5, but I don't think we've spoken about it much.

I think I spent more time making up fake adverts than writing about it.

media reacted to teraßyte in After latest upgrade invision locked my video app, happened before (it is fixed but happen again)
Oh, I guess you also need to manually unlock the application in the database. It's the app_requires_manual_intervention field in the core_applications table.

Here's a query you can run directly (if your tables use a prefix, adjust as needed):
UPDATE core_applications SET app_requires_manual_intervention=0 WHERE app_directory='videos'; Clear again the cache after running the query, and the app should be unlocked.

IPS won't offer support for 3rd party modifications. At most, they'll redirect you to the application's developer (who is currently MIA) or 3rd party developers in the Providers Directory. (Example link under my photo.)

Anyway, with the query above you should be good to go.

Sorry for the false alarm in that case, but that is great to hear it's already implemented. Thank you!
In that case, glad that GOOGLE is finally catching up with the times 😃

You've really done a fantastic job, @Ehren. Congratulations! You've left no work for the designers. We're left wondering what we can improve. You've included all the features. Jokes aside, thank you for your efforts. I have a question that's been on my mind. As we know, design developers create unique templates for themselves in different themes. These templates are visible in all designs after the Designers' Mode process. I actually consider this to be an issue. Each design should have its own unique templates, and these templates should not be displayed in other designs. Is there any work or development in progress regarding this matter?
Will there be any adjustments regarding the Designers' Mode duration? For someone with many designs, this can be quite frustrating. I haven't been in the IPS field for a long time, so I might have missed some updates. I apologize for that. I'll need to review everything again.

This is something you absolutely must take on the chin, and whilst I understand your point - it is not always possible to provide visible updates to everyone and nor will everyone read them. There are updates on Michael John's site, albeit a bit old, but I don't believe he's someone who would just walk without trying to address things.
If you managed to get your money's worth from the app, then that's at least one good thing. I would definitely recommend purchasing Adriano's app.
Yet anything in the real world can and will happen, it's not always as simple as leaving updates and as you mention. Devs won't simply give their resources away for free; it takes a dev to pick them up and to pay a fee for them. In most cases, I think it's more common to see a new resource created from scratch.
Keep in mind that some Dev's have died, others have left in bad ways, but Michael is between this as far as I can tell. Whatever has his focus must be very important to him.
I get what you are saying, but it's not something to be expected.
It's a gamble on our part; you pay for the resource as it stands and Michael is one of those devs who add features to improve his work without additional fees. Whilst an explanation to say "I am unable to provide updates for the foreseeable future." would be nice.
    There are no guaranteed expectations.
I don't think we as clients have that right either, at least not to demand it. As I say, I get the frustration, but I sway more towards concern than outrage.
