    It never really was. Google just follows the user. If a site offers the most relevant content for a search query, then it’s what the user wants to see, whether it takes 500 milliseconds longer to load or not. Only if different sites have exactly the same ranking otherwise, then maybe your ranking position changes a bit. But in general, search results are not ordered by speed. That would be ridiculous. 
    Optimizations are still useful of course, but there is no reason to obsess about them. There are much more impactful changes to be made on the site itself, e.g. how to name pages/forums/topics, how to structure a menu and so on.

    When the Marketplace closes you'll need to obtain any future updates from the author. Many 3rd party authors are (or already have) setting up their own websites to sell their products. With 4.7.13 you'll be able to manually upgrade resources you installed from the Marketplace.
    We will be providing a 'proof of purchase' system in the near future but in the meantime authors may ask you for another proof of purchase if you want to obtain updates directly.

    I've moved from CentOs 7 to AlmaLinux 8 at start of this year and since all is ok. There's no problem for me.

    If you're comfortable with Centos, you will want to look at any OS that is a derivative of RedHat Linux (RHEL).  Take a look at either Alma Linux or Rocky Linux.  Rocky in fact is developed by a Centos co-founder.  Either of those two are also directly supported by cPanel as well.  (I don't know what your hosting provider might support, so that might make a difference as well.)
    Anything based off of RHEL should be pretty comfortable for you though just in terms of how the OS feels and operates.

    It’s very popular.  In fact, it’s the most popular Linux based server platform.
    If you are used to Centos however, there are many differences in how the system operates and the commands used. For example you don’t use yum to update the system files. Instead you use apt. 

    My suggestion is to use an operating system you will be comfortable managing and that you understand.  It’s not about “good” so to speak. Instead it’s more about your ability to use it to get the most from it.

    We depend on their work, and they need to communicate with us if they are going to be away for a while...
    We are running live sites and this information is very crucial for us.
    If we know they are going to be away, we will hold the upgrades until they come back...
