Hi,
It's not the script or any part of the script that throws a 429 error. Take a look at the server log in your Cpanel, you will see that nothing on your behalf is near overloading the server. It is most likely than not that your hosting provider uses a proxy - resulting you getting ratelimited - get them to whitelist your IP address.
NB! IF you don't got any static IP from your ISP (just a dynamic one) and they whitelist your IP -AND- at somepoint you get a new IP you will get the same 429 error all over again.
You should also considder:
- change the current admin URL, to avoid being rate limited.
- get a static IP from your ISP or use a VPN service
- upgrade to VPS to have no restrictions. It is definitely a Mod. I disabled them all and I have yet to have the issue. So now I gotta figure which one caused it
@Makoto I don't have doc. Not sure Firefox has that

Is it when you try and access the AdminCP whatsoever, or after you sign-in to the AdminCP?
If you press SHIFT+CTRL+I and navigate to the network tab when trying to load the page again, which pages do you see it cycling between? (Don't post your full Admin URL here, but do you see it trying to switch between http and https, or is it trying to navigate to one page and back to another?)
I did that but not sure what i am seeing. i did notice when I disabled all my mods it stopped. So I think its one of them.

If your hosting is showing too many requests, you really would need to contact your hosting company on the issue, to be honest, as they would need to increase this if its not coping with your sites traffic
I explained that and they said they cant do anything that its something in the script. (i highly doubt at that tho)
I am wondering if it is a plugin causing it

Anyone got anything?

Do you have something that is redirecting you from HTTP to HTTPS? When I see that come up, typically it's related to the user having HTTP specified in their conf_global.php for their board URL when there is something else trying to direct them to the HTTPS version.
I have a SSL installed in cPanel. My base url in that file starts https as well

For some reason I am getting a "429 Too Many Requests" error when entering the AdminCP area. Not sure on how to fix it

Many active forum members. Maybe this is of help: https://www.theadminzone.com/threads/starting-a-new-forum-in-2022.154218/
I was just curious. With all the social networks and such what makes a person really want to engage in a forum when its faster on a social network or Discord?
-
With social networks being out there and websites like Discord what helps forums stay alive? When I was first started many years ago forums was being on the hosting community but they rarely use it now.
-
I manually typed it all. Not sure about the "Too Many Connections" but i will let my host know.

The only option would be a custom application and its fairly easy
Thanks, I will give it a try

So I can't buy the Pages Modification at the moment as much as I want to. Does anyone know how I can manually make a custom page till I buy the Modification? I am using the current version of IPB.

I already purchased the IPB for self hosting but i need the downloads part...
-
Little Heads Up: I have not used IPB in a while so bare with me please.
How do I enable a Download section? Is that a extra pay thing or what?
-

Is it a default theme, with no changes at all either via CSS or HTML template changes? Because if it has anything modified then it isn't default.
In short...what changes have you made? If none at all then post a link to your site...screenshots only tell a small piece of the story.
http://www.rootie.me is the site. I havent made any types if changes to the default theme
-
Not sure what you mean by make a new default theme. Like designate another theme to be default?
-
thanks for the reply. I have included some screenshots both with shorter text in post and one with a different theme and it all comes with same problem.
-
I am using the default theme and this big huge area with nothing is there. Anyway to populate it with something or make it go away for something??

I don't recommend file changes but for those that are curious you can do this here:
core > front > system > settingsRemove these lines from the template:
{{if $canChangePassword}} <li> <a href='{url="app=core&module=system&controller=settings&area=password" seoTemplate="settings_password"}' id='setting_password' class='ipsType_normal ipsSideMenu_item {{if $tab === 'password'}}ipsSideMenu_itemActive{{endif}}' title="{lang="password"}" role="tab" aria-selected="{{if $tab === 'password'}}true{{else}}false{{endif}}"> <i class='fa fa-key'></i> {lang="password"} </a> </li> {{endif}}
Or! just remove it all from that template. It will remove all content from the UCP altogether.
that is what I did, I would not recommend on a normal forum but I was doing it for my test forum. Don't need any of that.
-
THIS HAS BEEN RESOLVED! I found the file I need to edit to remove the password change field safely.

You can technically hide the whole UCP by editing the theme. If you’re interested in that let me know and I’ll find the template that you’d edit.
that would work too,
-
it is a test forum for my theme, I either need the account they create to last no more then 24hrs (maybe send an email if possible when expired) or something where I can create an account that limits them access to changing anything in the UserCP.
How much would you charge to make the plugin?

Do you mean to delete an account based on registration or last activity timeframe? Either way, this will require a custom plugin imo.
I need something so when the user visits my demo forum, creates and account, after so long it deletes it, or a way to have a demo account where they cant change the password. Like is there a file that I can edit to remove the whole field for the password in the userCP?

I see. One points to my admin folder which gives a 200 status and a favicon gives 404
